SUMMARY:Rope Hangout: Blindfolds
DESCRIPTION:A rope hangout is a welcoming\, peer-to-peer space where we research rope together\, connect\, and explore in a relaxed\, pressure-free atmosphere\, no matter your experience level. All forms of rope bondage (Japanese inspired shibari/kinbaku\, western style bondage\, decorative macrame…) are warmly invited. \nWhether you feel like tying or simply being present\, you’re welcome here. Enjoy non-alcoholic drinks\, snacks\, and easy conversation — sometimes just showing up is enough. There’s no pressure to perform\, teach\, or know anything in advance. Curiosity and your (imaginary) lab coat is all you need to bring. \nThis month’s special focus: Blindfolds\nThis month we’ll explore using blindfolds while tying\, in expected and unexpected ways. How do sensations change when you can’t see what’s happening? How can you tie if you can’t rely on your sight for rope placement and body handling? Blindfolds offered by the house for anyone in need. \nThe theme is an open invitation rather than a guideline. You’re always encouraged to follow your own interests\, bring questions\, share experiences\, or simply observe and take it all in. The space is shaped by what each person brings into it. \nNote: This is not a rope jam/play space. Rope Hangout is a peer learning environment.

SUMMARY:Rope Lab: Play & Connection - Bottoming
DESCRIPTION:This is our experimental shibari playground for all skill levels. Each month explores a new topic — from shame and semenawa to performance\, advanced movement\, or the mythical “3rd rope” in TKs. We rotate between two themes\, always bringing new inspiration to your rope practice. Open to all levels with foundational knowledge. Suitable for all knowledge levels. \nPlay & Connection\nThese classes are dedicated to the research of the interpersonal\, connective\, and fun side of shibari. Forget about rope technique for a while and learn hands-on skills for actually playing with what you know. The topic varies from month to month\, and can be anything from pain and predicament ties to fun games like rope fight club. Come learn the skills that take your sessions from good to fantastic! \n

SUMMARY:Negotiating Kinky Relationships
DESCRIPTION:Turns out “we’ll figure it out as we go” is not actually a relationship structure and can backfire. \nWhether you’re building a dynamic\, navigating kink in a non-monogamous constellation\, or trying to figure out how to be more conscious in an existing relationship\, this workshop is for you. We’ll cover pre-scene negotiation\, but also go beyond that into the messier\, more interesting territory – how do you negotiate the relationship outside play dynamics\, renegotiate when things shift\, and hold ongoing consent and agreements without having to turn each playtime into a board meeting. \nWe’ll have conversations\, do exercises\, and reflect on how to go beyond assumptions. You will receive Ceci’s BDSM smorgasbord as a tool for your conversations. \nWhat to expect\n\nScene negotiation & relationship negotiation\nTools for talking about desires\, dynamics\, and dealbreakers\nRenegotiation and changing structures in kink relationships\nOngoing consent in long-term dynamics\nTroubleshooting your sticking points together – bring questions and conundrums!\n\nWho should join\n\nYou’re in or building a kink dynamic and want to be conscious about it\nYou’re non-monogamous and trying to figure out how kink relationships fit into the mix\nYou’ve had miscommunications and relationship ruptures because thigs have been left unsaid\nYou’re new to kink and want to start with a solid foundation

SUMMARY:Rope Fundamentals Weekend: Foundations & Fun
DESCRIPTION:This is the Saturday single ticket event. For buying a full weekend ticket\, go to the weekend event. \nSaturday gives you the tools that make shibari fun — or intense\, or meditative\, or horny\, or whatever flavor of rope you want to create. Ceci will get you started with the most essential techniques: the lark’s head\, the single column tie\, clean wrapping\, managing tension\, and staying safe. Once those basics are in place\, we spend the rest of the day putting them to use in playful\, intuitive ways. \nWe’ll explore freestyle tying and improvisation to loosen the pressure of “doing it right.” Through one-rope exercises\, wrapping\, unwrapping\, and re-wrapping bodies\, you’ll learn to follow curiosity instead of memorizing patterns. Because rope isn’t static — people move — we’ll also practice guiding and responding to movement through levers\, spirals\, and simple transitions like sitting to standing or shifting limbs mid-tie. \nAlong the way\, we dive into the emotional and psychological effects of rope: how body positions\, pacing\, tension\, and proximity can shift headspace and shape intention. With just a few simple ties\, you’ll learn to create sessions that feel impactful\, intimate\, and expressive. \nTake Aways: \n\nLarkshead & single column tie\nRope safety\nOne rope tying\, wrapping & unwrapping\nPlaying with different intentions and moods\nMoving bodies & tying in movement

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Modular Thinking & Frictions
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. In this first part\, we will focus on modular thinking and frictions in constructing shibari ties. \nEver wondered why certain ties just work—while others fall apart or feel awkward? Or how some learn patters as if by magic while others struggle with memorizing? This online workshop is your gateway to understanding the underlying building blocks that make your tying both secure and flowing. \nWhat we cover\nApproximately 90% of shibari patterns are based on the same foundational structures. In this lesson\, Ceci will demystify those core components and give you practical tools for understanding\, recreating\, and creating patterns. You’ll identify and use the modular elements that make up most ties\, gaining the ability to learn\, improvise\, and adapt with confidence. \nWe’ll also go to an even more micro level\, focusing on frictions—the key to stability and different aesthetics in rope. You’ll learn how half hitches and munter hitches function\, and how they can support both freestyle floor play and tying structured harnesses. Then we’ll go deeper\, exploring structural frictions like X frictions\, L frictions\, and half-moon frictions\, used in ties like chest harnesses and leg bindings. \nThroughout\, Ceci will emphasize why these elements work—not just how—giving you the theory and tactile understanding needed to move beyond memorizing patterns. \nIdeal for\n\nTechnically-minded riggers\, bottoms\, and switches\nThe nerdiest of the nerds\nBeginners\, the people who think they already know it all\, and the people who got over that phase and know they still have years to learn\nAnyone who loves diagrams\, efficiency\, or the phrase “root cause analysis”

SUMMARY:Sensory Play - Pleasure & Intimacy Through the Senses
DESCRIPTION:Our senses are powerful gateways to pleasure\, intimacy\, emotion\, and connection. In this workshop\, we’ll dive into the rich world of sensory play—where touch\, temperature\, sound\, smell\, and taste become tools for discovery\, delight\, and creative expression. \nThrough guided exercises\, playful experiments\, and a menu of sensations to try\, you’ll learn how to both stimulate and deprive the senses to heighten awareness\, deepen connection\, and expand your play. Whether you’re drawn to the soft and subtle or the sharp and intense\, this workshop gives you the tools to build your own sensory play scenes. \nWhat We’ll Explore\n\n\nTouch between bodies and with tools – from featherlight to firm \n\n\nTemperature play – hot wax\, cold ice\, and the mellows in between \n\n\nPlaying with smell\, taste\, and sound – how everyday sensations can become extraordinary \n\n\nSensory deprivation – removing one sense to awaken the others \n\n\nThis workshop welcomes all bodies\, all genders\, and all experience levels. Come curious and open to exploring. Bring a partner to explore with to make sure you get the full experience.

SUMMARY:Repairing Kink Ruptures – What to Do When Things Go Wrong
DESCRIPTION:Things will go wrong in kink. Miscommunication\, emotional overwhelm\, consent slips\, physical mishaps\, or simply mismatched expectations — ruptures are a real risk in when working with intensity\, vulnerability\, and power exchange. \nThis workshop focuses on what happens after the moment shit hits the fan. \nWe’ll explore how to recognize rupture as it’s happening\, how to pause without escalating harm\, and how to repair connection in ways that build trust rather than erode it. Drawing on principles from restorative and transformative justice\, we’ll look beyond blame and punishment toward accountability\, repair\, and the possibility of doing things differently. \nWhat does it mean to take responsibility in a kink context? How do we respond to harm without collapsing into defensiveness or exile? And how can repair processes strengthen our dynamics and communities? \nExpect discussion\, guided reflection\, and practical frameworks you can apply in scenes\, relationships\, and shared spaces. This is not about avoiding mistakes\, it’s about learning how to respond to them with care\, clarity\, and integrity. \nWhat to expect\n\nFrameworks for recognizing different types of rupture (communication breakdowns\, consent issues\, emotional harm)\nTools for pausing\, de-escalating\, and responding in the moment without making things worse\nApproaches to accountability and repair\nExploration of common defensive patterns (avoidance\, blame\, shutdown) and how to move through them\nWays to rebuild trust after things go wrong\n\nWho should join\n\nPeople practicing kink who want to handle mistakes and missteps more skillfully\nTops\, bottoms\, and switches interested in building safer\, more resilient dynamics\nAnyone who has experienced or caused a rupture and wants better tools for repair\nCommunity organizers\, hosts\, teachers\, or facilitators navigating conflict and harm\nThose open to engaging with accountability\, rather than avoiding or outsourcing it

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Detail Focus & Debugging
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. \nThis session is all about refinement: the often-overlooked micro-skills and subtle mechanics that elevate your rope from “functional” to “flawlessly intentional.” Whether you’re chasing the mythical perfect single-column tie or endlessly fiddling with your tension to no avail\, this workshop compiles years of niche knowledge into a concentrated toolkit you didn’t know you needed. \nWe’ll break down the biomechanics of tying\n\nHow to control tension consistently\nHow rope behaves under load and movement\nWhat actually makes a single-column tie “good\,” and how to identify weak links\nHow to increase flow and make movement easy\n\nAnd then—debugging\nBecause let’s be honest: ties don’t always go as planned. Ceci will introduce a practical Rope Debugging Checklist — a system for analyzing and troubleshooting your rope in real time. Bring your toughest knots\, recurring frustrations\, and messy half-solutions. You’ll get hands-on help in problem-solving real-world issues\, and leave with better strategies for working through technical glitches on your own. \nExpect lots of tinkering\, a healthy dose of analysis\, and plenty of “ah-ha!” moments. Rope as craft. Rope as puzzle. Rope as precision instrument. Let’s get into it.

SUMMARY:Rope Hangout: Decorations
\nThis month’s special focus: Decorations\nThe festive season is upon us. Let’s take this opportunity to focus on decorations: how to make the ropes pretty\, clean up our suspension lines\, do some erotic macrame\, or use rope to wrap gifts. Maximalist or minimalist\, we’re labbing out on aesthetics.
