SUMMARY:Releasing Grief and Sadness
DESCRIPTION:Sadness and grief touch so much of our present-day journey. \nThey are multi-layered and challenging to navigate\, but do they have a purpose? How can we personally\, collectively\, and metaphorically allow ourselves to sit with the complexity of sadness? And cherish\, honour\, and release our grief? Let’s give ourselves the gift(s) of transformation and inspiration. \nFor this ritual & workshop\, we will explore our grief place(s)\, where we find them\, why they are important and how we can remind ourselves to embrace them when we are challenged. The idea is not to have all the answers\, but more to give ourselves space to sit\, take time and share in a supportive held container. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  July 28th\, 2022\, 7 pm- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: none \nWhat to bring: Pens\, paper\, paints\, sketchbook\, images\, stories\, tissues\, objects\, and ideas to share \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be available after the live class for 14 days. \nWhat we will do \nCaritia’s proposal is to give space\, offer to witness/be witnessed\, and create rituals around grief\, sadness\, loss\, release\, and frustration. Exploring methods and actual practices/things which turn up the sadness in our lives – both individually and with others. Opening to the dark and the light. Mindfulness\, as well as a respectful tone\, is a must.\n• Guided meditation \n• Defining the nuances \n• Mess as a form of release \n• Communication Tool Kit – Finding Language around/ for sadness \n• Holding space alone or together – ways to connect \n• Who is your sadness for? \n• Feedback & close \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Kink and Neurodivergence
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur intimate connections can be a mixture of complex\, delightful messiness that each one can find a challenging prospect to walk through. Add to that the multiplicity of how each individual processes through your senses\, minds\, and emotions\, the potential for misunderstanding is vast. When intimacy\, touch\, and desire are added to that already heady mix is it any wonder that things become confusing. \nWhy is it vital to speak and share ideas about neurodivergence/ neurominority people within the context of kink and intimacy in general? How can more supportive paths be found to support the curiosity of intimacy and connection? \nIn this open discussion and lab\, Caritia aims to open up a personal and collective conversation about the topics of kink and neurodivergence\, inviting participants to actively dialogue and share their experiences around this complex topic. And in doing so explore ways in which the nuance and messiness can be brought to bear as part of a utopia of sharing space with each other. \nNote: This is an alive and ongoing process of learning\, it is not intended to be a ‘fits in a box’ idea or concept. \nWho is this for: \nThis workshop has been derived for a variety of folx: New folx to kink. SUMMARY:Expanding the Frame: Kink and Intersectionality
DESCRIPTION:Kink and intersectionality are topics that are often spoken about separate from each other or on a more theoretical basis while trying to understand systemic oppression. Only rarely is the opportunity given to go into the nuance of the idea of how intersectionality affects our kinks and vice versa. \nCaritia aims to offer space for participants to dig a little deeper into how intersectionality affects who we decide we wish to relate to\, how we decide to relate to them and why some topics of kink are too challenging to dive into. \nThis discussion and lab are aimed at anyone who wishes to understand more about their own kinks\, the oppressive nature of society’s rules\, and to have more freedom to express one’s desires\, wants\, and needs in kink and ultimately in life. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time: May 4th\, 2021\, 7-9.30pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion & lab \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/A\n \nWhat to bring: Questions\, stories\, active suggestions\, compassion\, and an open heart \nSolo or Partnered: both\, everyone needs a ticket \nClass recording: Yes. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and respect everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Consensual Non-Consent 101
DESCRIPTION:Consensual non-consent is a form of play that is based on a mutual agreement between play partners to act as if consent has been waived. This form of play is a complex web of thoughts\, ideas\, and desires which requires a delicate balance of boundaries and communicated needs to navigate what can be deliciously troubled waters. \nJoin Caritia for this open discussion on the topic\, covering the basics and answering your questions in this co-created space. \nFor starters\, we will dive into questions such as: What is CNC? Why would anyone wish to engage with this form of play? And how many different ways can it turn out? Where are the boundaries between consent and the desire to play with taboos? Feel free to bring you own ideas and questions to the (virtual) table \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  April 28th\, 2022\, 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nFormat: discussion \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: ideas\, questions\, partners\, ways to keep notes \nSolo or Partnered: any constellation\, works \nClass recording: yes. Speaking to the differences in how our minds\, bodies\, desire\, and sexuality are being stifled and ways in which offering space to experiment can contribute to finding release from these stuck emotions. \nCaritia will aim to walk participants through the maze of emotions and hold this collaborative container for participants to find their way(s) of letting go and playfully engaging in these complex dynamics. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  April 20th\, 2022\, 7 pm – 10 pm \nFormat: discussion \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: ideas\, questions\, partners\, ways to keep notes \nSolo or Partnered: any constellation\, works \nClass recording: yes.
SUMMARY:Taking Charge
DESCRIPTION:“Power tends to corrupt\, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” – Lord Acton \nThis proverbial saying conveys the opinion that\, as a person’s power increases\, their moral sense diminishes. Is this a line that must always be followed? \nThe act of leading\, of being in charge\, or taking charge is so frequently presented by society in damaging ways. And yet there are stunning\, as well as beautiful examples to the contrary. Would a part of yourself find joy in being given space to lead? Offering yourself the pleasure of intentionally and respectfully taking\, speaking to what you desire? \nCaritia invites you to find out more about the power you hold\, the power you yield\, and to explore intentional ways in which each person within the dynamic can find their way to walk in a way that respects your own boundaries\, those of others\, and the excitement\, as well as intimacy leadership\, can hold. \nThe space offered is to learn more about your relationship with power\, leading\, leadership\, and active following. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 19th\, 2021\, 10 am – 1 pm \nFormat: workshop & exploration space \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: Anything that would support your process and communication style \n \nSolo or Partnered:  partnered\n \nPrice: is per pair \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n– what is power? what are the elements of power? \n– negotiation as a leader \n– leading vs dominance \n– creating boundaries within your space \n– communication in an intimate space \n– Feedback and close \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Pointy & Spikey – Needles 101
DESCRIPTION:When we were young\, we were frequently instructed not to play with sharp things. But now\, as adults\, we get to play around.  There is a lot of fun to be had from exploring what our body’s capacity is. It may also be an opportunity to release and let go of things no longer needed or feared. \nCaritia will take participants through the steps to exploring their own body or the body of another person in a thoughtful\, safe(r)\, and practical way when exploring and playing with needles. This workshop will include actual practice (for you to watch or follow along)\, as well as a discussion and Q & A. The aim of this workshop and discussion is to inform participants about how to create a safe(r) environment to play with this edge practice of needles from an informed perspective. \nNOTE: The needle in the event picture is NOT the kind of needle to use. We chose this picture as there are lots of people with needle phobia and this particular pic in non-triggering. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 16th\, 2022\, 7 pm-10 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: questions\, a way to make notes\, \nFor anyone who wishes to actually do the practice you are advised to purchase \n-hypodermic needles 26\, 27\, or 28 gauge (example of what is written in the description Gr. 20 27G x 3/4″ – 0.40 x 20 cm. 20 cm) For Germany: www.praxisdienst.com or other medical supplier in your requestive country. \n-A small table\, \n-a jar or sharps bin\, \n-band-aids\, \n-skin disinfectant spray and/or wipes\, \n-tissues\, \n-a rubbish bin\, \n-gloves – latex or non-latex any color. \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we teach: \n-body anatomy & chemistry\, \n-needle anatomy\, \n-clean space\, \n-intention\, \n-health\, hygiene & safety\, \n-care \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Yes\, please / No Thanks – Giving Consent\, Holding Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Let’s be playful with consent 🙂 \nThe general idea of consent and boundaries is often portrayed to be as simple as offering someone a cup of tea. However\, in reality\, it is much more nuanced and complicated\, especially when taking our intersectionalities\, different contexts\, and power structures into consideration. And then what? \nCaritia will guide and support participants in solo\, paired and group exercises to get to grips with what consent means to you\, how it can be applied in everyday situations\, and the mindsets that can open you up to more playful interactions with others. Let’s dive in\, get messy and acknowledge the dimensions. \nThe aim of the workshop is to get to know yourself and your boundaries more deeply. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 12th\, 2022\, 12 pm-3 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: paper\, pen\, questions and stories \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we will teach: \n-Layers of consent\, \n-nuances of play\, \n-communication tools\, \n-intersectionality\, \n-relating to others \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.
