SUMMARY:Kink\, Violence & the Unseen
DESCRIPTION:In Torture\, Play\, and the Black Experience\, Aaron Trammell states that “play functions as a tool of subjugation—one that hurts as much as it heals and has been complicit in the systemic erasure of BIPOC people from the domain of leisure.” \nThis workshop explores the absence of BIPOC individuals from intimacy spaces—both educational and physical—and examines the barriers they face. It also critiques the continuation of a “copy-paste” culture in learning about kink and BDSM\, which often lacks critical thinking around boundaries and intentional adult play. \nCaritia invites participants to engage in this ongoing dialogue\, delving into the nuances of intimacy\, BDSM\, and the unique challenges and perspectives of BIPOC communities within these spaces. \nThis event is part of the “Queer Intimacies Conference – Re-Thinking & Queer(ing) Sex\, Kink\, and Intimacies 2025” Conference and can be purchased as a solo event or part of our day or full conference tickets.  \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 2nd\, 2025\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion/workshop/ (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum knowledge level: – \nWhat to bring: pen & paper \nClass recording: yes\, the recording will be available for 30 days to the conference participants. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de

SUMMARY:BIPOC Utopias – Kink & Intimacy
DESCRIPTION:This is a separatist space to discuss and lab about kink\, intimacy\, and virtual play space for black\, brown and Indigenous folks. \nFor quite some time\, Caritia has been musing on encouraging and inspiring more BIPOC into the realm of alternative lifestyles and ways of relating. There are many systemic barriers to this\, including patriarchy\, capitalism\, classism and racism. In an effort to change the narrative\, Caritia wishes to offer a monthly gathering of BIPOC to talk\, learn about a topic or practice and support one another through a community that is actively built together\, with the aspiration to gather in person once a year. \nCaritia’s intention is to create a guided\, active space for learning and coming together. This format has the potential to morph and change as the group sees fit. \nThis space is specifically for Afro-diaspora\, South American\, black\, brown\, Indigenous\, and marginalized individuals who are interested in kink and BDSM through the lens of intersectional nuances and transformative justice. This space may not fit for all marginalised demographics\, as it is impossible to cover such diversity in one space. \n  \nWhat we will do: \nFebruary – Consent\, communication and impact play \nMarch – Negotiations and Power dynamics \nApril – What’s new? Questions & Curiosity ask anything time. \nMay – Rope Rope Rope \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 2nd\, 2025\, 7-8.30pm CET \nFormat: lab (virtual) \nAudience:  BIPOC  \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: All levels welcome \nWhat to Bring: \nSolo or Partnered:  all constellations welcome (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: No \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. SUMMARY:Radical Anger
DESCRIPTION:Let’s take it from Maya Angelou. \nLet’s find transformational energies for transformative times. \nThe present-day and historical views that society has on anger are not ones Caritia feels are in anyone’s best interest\, and a number of scholars and psychologists agree. \nThere are rarely spaces or places where anger can be freely and openly expressed\, and there is no room to speak about anger. Caritia invites participants to join in this intentionally held container to speak on and offer guided practices to get to know and understand their own anger\, where it comes from\, and how they can find ways to embrace this poorly understood and complex sensation. \nCaritia will share from personal experiences and offer tools\, care and practical methods to encourage you to explore yourself and your needs with more intention. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 26th\, 2025\, 7-10 pm CET\, Berlin time \nFormat: workshop & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: none \nWhat to Bring: questions\, an object that represents anger for you\,an object that represents cleansing for you \nSolo or Partnered: both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, only the facilitator will be recorded \n  \nWhat we will teach/do \n• finding understanding around anger \n• consent and boundary work \n• tapping into the emotional body \n• offering space for shadows \n• why creative movement and physical embodiment are helpful tools \n• sound as a resource \n• intention – why is it? what does it mean? If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \nIf you cannot afford the ticket price (even the solidarity price)\, please send us a message. We will find a way.

\n  \nWhat we will do: \nJanuary – Introductions\, boundaries and basic frameworks \nFebruary – Consent\, communication and impact play \nMarch – Negotiations and Power dynamics \nApril – What’s new? Questions & Curiosity ask anything time. \nMay – Rope Rope Rope \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 5th\, 7-8.30pm CET \nFormat: lab (virtual) \nAudience:  BIPOC  \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: All levels welcome \nWhat to Bring: \nSolo or Partnered:  all constellations welcome (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: No \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. SUMMARY:Decolonizing Kink – Shifting Perspectives
DESCRIPTION:Through her previous work in Karada House workshops\, Oya (@anthropokinkster) has demonstrated that the kink and BDSM practices are often viewed as power play and/or punishment within the context of a Western colonial society\, wheras they are understood as ritual and even growth practices from the Pan-African viewpoint\, empowering its communities & peoples. \nCaritia continues this line of thinking and invites participants to consider another pathway in the complexities of these self-exploratory\, bodily freedom and community care practices by exploring the multi-layered possibilities of what intentional BDSM and kink practice could look like. Acknowledging its colonial history (and supremacist male dominant gaze) and where it could go next in its evolution to support our needs and interpersonal growth personally as well as collectively. \nCaritia will guide participants in taking a deeper dive into their personal desires and ways to embrace play\, vulnerability\, and trust. Divesting and destigmatizing ourselves and our collectives from the hegemonic view of kink and seeking\, instead\, for the deeper potential for interconnection\, release\, and rest within is a multitude of possibilities. This interactive space is for beginners and those with experience to turn inward to their own joy and curiosity. We will also be poking at the ideas as to why collective engagement could be a key to deep care of self and others. \nThe principles for this session are that everyone attending\, in whichever capacity\, has something to contribute and that knowledge is for everyone—keep what fits and throw away what doesn’t. You are the captain of your ship. Participants are encouraged to come with questions and critiques\, acknowledging that nuance and multiple truths can exist simultaneously. \nThis is an actively anti-racist\, all-bodies-embracing\, disability-aware\, trans-inclusive virtual space. Caritia desires to hold an intentional space for learning and sharing ideas and knowledge. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 14th\, 2024\, 7-10 pm CET \nFormat: workshop & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: All levels welcome \nWhat to Bring: – \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations are welcome\, everyone needs a ticket \nClass recording: Yes. And why? \n• Power vs Empowerment \n• Adult Play in Adult Space \n• Psychology of Kink \n• Trauma aware practice \n• Response and Responsibility \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom.
