DESCRIPTION:By grotesque\, I mean anything that disrupts the usual codes of beauty\, symmetry\, or elegance : bodies that are exaggerated\, absurd\, distorted\, or uncanny.\nSometimes monstrous. Sometimes eccentric. Sometimes unsettling.\nIn this class\, I’d like to play with that. \nThrough floor-based bondage\, we will create distorted\, awkward\, excessive shapes \,sculptural\, absurd\, sometimes monstrous. Not to destroy beauty. But to move it somewhere else. To stretch it. To let it exist\nbeyond the usual codes of desirability. Objectification can reduce a body to a function\, a surface\, a form.
