SUMMARY:Objectification with Rope Series
DESCRIPTION:Objectification has always been a widely popular fetish within the BDSM scene\, especially in connection with bondage. In this 3 part series hua hua will share her approach to objectification through the practice of Shibari\, making use of the versatility and ritual of rope to play with this fetish. Drawing from her experience as both an artist and dominatrix\, hua hua will guide you on how to mindfully\, creatively and effectively turn a willing bottom into a beautiful object of pleasure. We will explore how to celebrate the unique assets of the individual\, how to adjust your communication to dehumanize the bottom\, and understand how to play with different types of objects. \nPart 1: Introduction to Objectifying with Rope\nShibari is never just about restraining the person in ropes\, it can also be an act of presenting the person\, to feel seen and accepted as they are or even as a means to transcend their human form. As the top in the scene\, it is important to take care of your bottom; keeping them safe from injury\, ensure that the pleasure of objectification comes from both sides and to facilitate the space to allow them to let go of their walking talking self and fully commit to being an object. In the first part of the series we will explore how to take responsibility and care for your objects\, discuss why we desire to play with objectification and dissect the presence of objectification in the world of Shibari. The class will end with an improvised demonstration where hua hua will tie her model\, the students are then asked to share feedback on how objectification played a role in the session. \nPART 2: Sculpting\nIn the second class we will be exploring how the rope bottom can serve as an art piece for the top to sculpt\, shape and showcase. The aim for this part of the workshop is to expand our definition of aesthetics in Shibari as a way of exploring the beauty of the individual in your ropes. Drawing on the dynamic of artist and muse\, the class will focus on how to use rope to highlight/fetishise certain features\, what aesthetics give you both pleasure and how gaze can impact the model’s experience. Students are invited to tie along and present their pieces at the end of the class. \nPart 3: Furniture Play\nThe final class of the series will focus on how to play with dehumanisation and functionality. Human furniture has always been a popular fetish within BDSM especially in connection with bondage. However this fetish is often depicted with highly gendered (specifically feminine) shapes\, which can contribute to body dysmorphia and gender inequality. In this workshop we will explore how to transform them from human to furniture through a playful and collaborative dynamic. This part of the class will involve discussion of power play\, headspace\, ergonomics and how to communicate without breaking the model out of their role. After the demonstration\, students will make their own furniture and explore how to modify the demonstrated tie to make the most of their partner’s assets.
