SUMMARY:Rope Lab: Movement & Expression - Surrender
DESCRIPTION:This is our experimental shibari playground for all skill levels. Each month explores a new topic — from shame and semenawa to performance\, advanced movement\, or the mythical “3rd rope” in TKs. We rotate between two themes\, always bringing new inspiration to your rope practice. Open to all levels with foundational knowledge. Bring your curiosity\, your questions\, and your rope. \nThis month we are focusing on: Surrender \nHow do movement\, expression\, and the intensity of shibari relate to each other? In this Rope Lab\, we explore how bodily restriction travels through the face – how it shows up as tension or relaxation\, devotion or alertness. We’ll work with breathing\, eye contact\, and how pain moves through both of those. \nExpressive presence in shibari is often tied to trust: to letting go\, handing yourself over. It’s also something a rigger fine-tunes for\, drawing out instinctive reactions. We’ll look at how inward compression of rope unfolds through movement in the body – and maybe into a bit of a fun\, grotesque facial choreography! \nMovement & Expression\nThese classes are dedicated to the research of the body\, movement and the artistic side of shibari. The topic varies\, and can be anything from dancing with rope or tying people using plastic bags to adding decorative and supportive elements to your harnesses. Inspiration is guaranteed at the Rope Lab!
