SUMMARY:Rope for Absolute Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the world of Japanese style rope bondage\, friend! It’s wild and fun out here and we are thrilled to be your point of entry. \nThis weekly class is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. We firmly believe that everyone\, even if you wish to be tied\, should know the absolute basics of this craft. \nWhat we do: \n– We talk about what the heck is Japanese inspired rope bondage and why we call it “inspired”. \n– We show you the tools are we using and tell you why they are designed the way they are. \n– We talk about why people love to tie/get tied and what happens if you tie/get tied? \n– We show you the fundamental principles of shibari and first techniques you can immediately use \n– We talk about the history of shibari\, give you pointers on anatomy\, psychology and safety \n– we will tie ourselves\, other people (if you and they want to) and actually take time to try stuff out and play\, play\, play \n  \nThis class is suited for: \n– all kinds of bodies (abled and non-abled)\, all gender expressions\, all kinds of sexualities (including people on the ace-spectrum)\, all kind of brains (neurospicy or neurotypical\, affected by trauma\, etc.) \n– people coming solo or bringing a partner (or group)\, people who only want to tie their own bodies as well as people who want to tie/get tied by others \n  \nNote: \nYou do not need to bring any ropes as we will provide workshop ropes for you. You can also spontaneously come by on the day and purchase a ticket online right up to the beginning of the class if there is space left. \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier so we can process your ticket and welcome you. Once the class has started we do not allow entry. You cannot transfer your ticket to another week. If you are not sure you can come\, please purchase your ticket on the day as soon as you are absolutely sure you can make it. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time: every Monday\, 7 pm-10 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes that are more tight fitting if possible \nSolo or Partnered:  solo\, partnered\, in a group (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 30 Euros \n  \nWhat happens next? \nIf you like what you are being taught\, we recommend practicing a little bit so you can start to develop some muscle memory. Once you feel ready to explore more\, you are very welcome to move on to our Open Training for Beginners (bi-weekly on Tuesdays). \n  \nHygiene \nIf you would like to inform yourself about other safety measures we have in place\, please consult our hygiene measures here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. German can also be provided. The space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. A ramp for wheelchairs is available at all times. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. The garden is only partially accessible at the moment. During the workshop\, we will sit on the floor. Sitting in a chair can also be provided. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend.
