DESCRIPTION:There are a plethora of stories and warnings about not playing with sharp objects; however\, some of us live for the thrills and giggles 😉 Let’s explore what Sharps Play is about. \n\n\n\nCurious about tools that touch\, pierce\, and trace across the body with care? This 4-hour in-person workshop invites you to explore the art of sharp sensations through safety\, skill\, and play. Guided by a collaborative team of experienced facilitators\, you’ll learn how to choose and handle your instruments with confidence\, follow best practices for health and hygiene\, and create supportive spaces for exploration. \n\n\n\nThis space is for those who wish to learn about or refresh their skills for sharps play. There will be three different practices – staples\, needles and knives. Expect live demonstrations\, hands-on practice\, and plenty of shared tips and tricks. This session blends curiosity with intention — empowering you to approach intensity with knowledge\, respect\, and a playful spirit. \n\n\n\nCaritia will be joined by a wonderful motley crew of collaborators who love these practices – AJ\, Chris and Casey. \n\n\n\nWhat we will do\n\n\n\n\nIntentional harm reduction and intention setting – the what and whys of play\n\n\n\nNegotiation (incorporating intersectionality) – the how\n\n\n\nHands-on practice – allowing participants to get a feel and experience\n\n\n\nCoaching tips and tricks (optional)\n\n\n\nHow-tos and best practices\n\n\n\nThree different forms sharps play\n\n\n\nFeedback and closing circle
