This is the basis of this discussion and workshop with Caritia. \nParticipants are invited to join Caritia in this 3-hour deep dive into consent\, permission\, self-advocacy and the nuances of taboo play forms that make up the kink\, bdsm and fetish practices in the Northern Hemisphere\, practices that are seen as rituals for life and modes of growth in other cultures and communities. \nCaritia intends for this to be an active and lively exchange of ideas\, concepts and reflects. It’s a discussion that reframes the conversation entirely. Away from ideas of brokenness\, re-traumatization and kink as “healing\,” and toward a harm reduction approach that makes space for self-knowledge\, resourcefulness\, and genuine curiosity about what’s actually happening when we play. \nWe’ll look at this structurally\, not personally. Bring your curiosity\, your questions\, and your rope. \nThis month we are focusing on: Surrender \nHow do movement\, expression\, and the intensity of shibari relate to each other? In this Rope Lab\, we explore how bodily restriction travels through the face – how it shows up as tension or relaxation\, devotion or alertness. We’ll work with breathing\, eye contact\, and how pain moves through both of those. \nExpressive presence in shibari is often tied to trust: to letting go\, handing yourself over. It’s also something a rigger fine-tunes for\, drawing out instinctive reactions. We’ll look at how inward compression of rope unfolds through movement in the body – and maybe into a bit of a fun\, grotesque facial choreography! \nMovement & Expression\nThese classes are dedicated to the research of the body\, movement and the artistic side of shibari. DESCRIPTION:Ready to willingly dip your toes into challenge\, anticipation and dilemma? This series will introduce you to two very different styles of predicaments taught by the queen of fun assholery herself: Sophia Rose. \nPart I: Playful Predicaments (September 29th\, 2026\, 7-10pm)\nPlayful predicaments are designed to keep one guessing (and choosing) in frustratingly fun ways. Using rope and other kinky tools\, simple concepts of predicament play will be explained and demonstrated along with more complex scenarios to inspire your own creativity as well as exploring predicaments that focus on pain or discomfort\, we will also look at ideas which play with exposure\, balance\, and pleasure – predicaments for different moods. \nPart II: WTF was that: (not so) playful predicaments… (October 22nd\, 2026\, 7-10pm)\nReady to take predicament play to the next level? This session moves beyond playful discomfort to explore the more bizarre\, creative\, and the downright “WTF is that?!”. We’ll explore the risks\, rewards\, and thrill of edgier predicament play\, with three demonstrations for inspiration and adaptation that utilise a suspension point and dungeon furniture. \nWhat we’ll cover:\n– Exploring and creating more intense\, edge-play predicaments (breath control/choking).\n– Demonstrations of bamboo on the body ties\, and fear/pain dynamics.\n– How to safely adapt challenging ideas to suit your skills and partners.

DESCRIPTION:Use your body in a vastly different way. Restricted\, restrained\, maybe even tamed – our bodies are subdued to very strict rules and movements in our daily lives. Time to get primal and rough. Rough body play allows for more fighting\, emotions\, and a deeper exploration of power dynamics than play fights. \nOnce a month we open Karada House for 2 hours of randori (free fights) time to try your new skills and have fun. Our amazing instructor Montse will guide through \n\nwarm-up exercises\nconsent & safety\ndos & don’ts\n\nAfter that – fight!

DESCRIPTION:We usually teach with the goal of separating the practice of rope from inherent expectations or assumptions of sexual contact. But that does not mean that they do not practice and enjoy sexual rope as well! \nThis workshop series will focus on rope techniques for sex and ideas how to sexualize ropes. We will not only look at ways of queering approaches to rope and sex (however you define and practice it) but also engage in a deconstruction of sex\, sexuality\, intimacy\, and eroticism in the context of ropes.\nContent warning: explicit.\n\nPart 1: Ropes and sex – a history intertwined or not? \nPart 2: The Obvious.
