SUMMARY:Open Rope Training for Beginners: Controlling & Restricting Movement
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly open training is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. \nOur open rope training for beginners is a continuous offer for anyone looking for a regular practice space to advance their skills. Each time we will offer a teaching on one particular topic. Depending on your skill level and how quickly you can pick up on things\, you can then either use the remaining open-space time to practice this one new skill in your own time or you can up the ante with the help of your teacher. You can also choose to train your own skills on another topic if you like and have a teacher give you feedback and help you improve. \n  \nTopic of the week: Controlling & Restricting Movement \nRestriction is a big part of why we love rope bondage\, and there’s only so much you can do with tying harnesses on separate body parts. This open training teaches you how to attach limbs to harnesses and furniture. It’s also a great first step for starting to figure out suspension lines.  \nTeacher of the week: Caritia \n“Caritia’s style is an eclectic one\, blended as it is from 20+ years in kink and learning to tie (and getting tied) from a diverse range of Japanese and Northern European instructors. SUMMARY:Plastic Cocoons
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis self-tying/ self-suspension workshop explores alternative bondage narratives by integrating material/ plastic into the tie (dry plastic bags/waste). Carefully chosen ‘waste’ in terms of color\, size\, sensual texture\, and meaning. It probably needs a moment to enter a playful\, devoted relationship with this material and oneself. \nThe long-duration self-tie allows for taking pleasure in sensual resilience\, adapting to the plastic and its sounds. For the outside the scene gives space for questions: around the dynamic between un-/organic material\, consumption/printed bags or boxes\, or ‘expiry date’ of food packaging surrounding ‘bound flesh’. \nIn terms of rope technique\, we will work with (partial-) suspension on rings or on bamboo. Plus a supporting surface such as a thin bamboo\, a piece of plastic/wood to place the main weight on. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Intermediate level. Participants should be firm with suspendable column ties and a suspendable futomomo. If they want to suspend themself they need to be familiar with locking of uplines on themselves. Otherwise\, I suggest following along but staying on the ground\, or using safe half-suspension. \nWhat to Bring: 7-12 ropes. If you like to suspend and if available more than one suspension point. Plastic: white /colorful shopping plastic bags (like the ones for veggies from the market).\nDry food packaging from noodles/rice/veggies. Can also be handbags\, disposable raincoats that can rip\, and colorful garbage. It could also be many yoga mats or blankets\, some material you like to deal with. DESCRIPTION:  \nIT’S ROPE JAM TIME! \nRope Jams are spaces to meet people who love to tie or be tied (or both) and/or bring your tying partner(s) to have a wonderful session together in a space with like-minded people. \nAll roles\, levels\, styles\, etc. are welcome. \nIn the last hour of the jam\, we will lower the lights and music and make it cozy. \n  \nWhat’s the space like? \na kitchen and hang-out area \n2 mezzanines for private tying \none large room with suspension points\, hashiras\, bamboo and rings provided. \nIn the summer: the silent garden (you can tie in the garden in the summer breeze but we keep noise levels low in this area. \n  \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 7:00 pm and stays open until 9:00 pm (sharp). \nYou will need to purchase a ticket upfront as space is limited.  \nAt 7:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and/or new to the jam (format). \nYou can then choose your space to tie (we offer bamboo\, ring\, and spaces for floorwork). DESCRIPTION:A shift in focus is needed this year\, and Caritia invites you to this play experiment. Adventurers who wish to explore their multitude of facets within a collective playground. Newbies and veterans are encouraged to join this sober\, safe(r) play space to discover more about their different forms of play and collaboration. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the world of rope bondage\, friend! It’s wild and fun out here and we are thrilled to be your point of entry. \nThis weekly class is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. We firmly believe that everyone\, even if you wish to be tied\, should know the absolute basics of this craft. You can come alone or with a partner. Everyone will learn and tie. You can either tie yourself or another person\, switching will also be a part of this class. \nYou do not need to bring any ropes as we will provide workshop ropes for you. \nYou can also spontaneously come by on the day and purchase a ticket online right up to the beginning of the class if there is space left. \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp.
