SUMMARY:Cuddles\, Cakes and Kinks
DESCRIPTION:We are opening our new and wonderful house and garden for the afternoon so you can come by\, relax and calm down amongst other queer people. There will be hammocks and little areas for cuddling and enjoying touch. Get or gives massages. Touch grass (literally and metaphorically). Or hang out in the kitchen with us and just chat. We will be baking a bunch of cakes and there will be coffee\, tea\, snacks\, etc. to nourish your bodies and souls. \nLight and slow kink interactions are welcome. So is nudity. Anything that allows you to come back in a soft and nice way. \nWhat does SLOW mean? It means calming things down\, doing them slowly and intentionally\, with consent and good boundaries in place. It means being in community with intention\, not just intensity. It means playing in a space that is semi-private with people to watch and people watching you. It means enjoying the energy of others being in the same space and seeking flow with each other across the room. \nWe are open and happy about what you bring as long you do not dominate the entire room with the noise\, space you need\, or vibe. This is a shared experience so please read the room and give others space as well. \nDue to hygiene and/or high levels of trigger potential\, we do not allow: \n– blood\, pee\, scat play \n– knife play\, needle play \n– uniforms and/or role play that includes institutional power dynamics (i.e. school\, hospital etc.) \n  \nWhat’s the space like? \na kitchen and hang-out area \n2 mezzanines for private tying \none large room with suspension points\, hashiras\, bamboo and rings provided. \nThe quiet garden (you can be in the garden in the summer breeze to get a break from the action inside). \n  \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 5:00 pm and stays open until 7:00 pm (sharp). \nYou will need to purchase a ticket upfront as space is limited.  \nAt 5:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and want to meet others. \nYou can then choose your space and mode (talk\, cuddle\, sleep\, eat cake\, light play) and enjoy yourselves. \nWhat to bring \nYourself and maybe things you like to share with others. \nPlease bring a blanket or towel to put on the yoga mats we provide. \n  \nWhat else to know \nThis jam is aimed at LGBTQIA+ audiences. \nThis space is a sober space. Please do not bring any substances to the spaces or enter the space under the influence. \nNudity is welcome. \nBathrooms and showers are available. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. A ramp for wheelchairs is available at all times. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. The garden is only partially accessible at the moment. During the workshop\, we will sit on the floor. Sitting in a chair can also be provided. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n

SUMMARY:Exploring Pain Play
DESCRIPTION:  \nThere is something extraordinarily powerful in feeling and playing with consensual and voluntary pain. Why would a person want to feel pain? Why would another love to give it to someone else? How is pain and the processing of it changed depending on the context and relation it is put into? \nIn this one-day workshop\, Mamana will guide participants slowly into the world of playing with giving and receiving pain (switching is possible but you can get deeper if you stay in your role). Not only will we explore how pain play works and what to take care of when engaging in pain play. We will also go into more depth about what your individual desires are\, what kinds of pain and headspaces you are seeking and how to get there and back in a safe-ish way. This workshop will cover a lot of practical aspects but we will emphasis intentions\, modes and actual play. You can approach this class from an S/M\, D/s\, or neutral perspective\, meaning you do not need to identify as a sadist or masochist to engage in pain play. Your reasons can but do not have to include any kind of power dynamic\, either. \nThe class will be held in a trauma-informed\, accessible way. We will make any and all adjustments you need and want and find very individual ways of play for everyone involved. \nAnd: there will be aftercare cookies and chocolates. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  June 23rd\, 2024\, 10 am – 4 pm (lunch break included) \nFormat: Workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you should know a little bit about how your body reacts to pain\, you should have knowledge in whatever kink practice you are using to induce pain\, both partners must be able to negotiate with each other and be able to communicate and uphold their own boundaries \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothing\, snacks\, something to cuddle and soothe you\, any items you need for bodily aftercare (i.e. arnica cream) \nSolo or Partnered: partnered\, ticket price is per pair \n  \nWhat we will explore: \n. Define Pain? \n. Good pain\, bad pain \n. What do consent\, trust\, and context have to do with it? \n. How to give\, receive\, and process pain \n. How to tweak your pain play to where you want it to go \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. The space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \n  \nWhat else to know \nBefore purchasing a solidarity ticket\, please check here if you are eligible for one.

SUMMARY:Exploring „Aibunawa“ – The Art of Caressing Rope
DESCRIPTION:Aibunawa\, also known as “caressing rope\,” serves as a contrasting approach to Semenawa\, or “tormenting rope\,” and draws its inspiration from the teachings of Japanese teacher Yukimura Haruki. \nThe idea of caressing rope reflects on the idea that the ropes used in tying are not just tools for restraint but also instruments for expressing affection\, care\, and intimacy. While each rope and knot serves a purpose\, both practical and symbolic\, the overall experience aims to create a sense of closeness and emotional connection between the tying partners. This class delves into the principles and concepts underlying this gentle but intense way of tying. \nNote: This class is not a Yukimura-style class; René merely utilizes the known concepts she observed from various teachings and teachers to explore the potentials of this gentle but intense way of tying. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  June 22nd\, 2024\, 11 am – 5 pm \nFormat: Workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothing\, 5-8 ropes \nSolo or Partnered: partnered\, ticket price is per pair \n  \nWhat we will explore: \n– Understanding the significance of touch\n– Establishing trust and communication\n– Embracing vulnerability\n– Exploring different tying techniques\n– Cultivating presence and mindfulness \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. SUMMARY:Rope Hangout
DESCRIPTION:  \nA rope hangout is an event where we learn from each other\, peer-to-peer\, get to know each other\, and do rope in a relaxed atmosphere\, regardless of experience level. You can hang out\, have coffee\, tea\, or soft drinks and chat with people if you don’t feel like tying. Being there is enough! \nNote: This is not a rope jam. It’s a peer learning environment. \n  \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nTime: June 20th\, 2024\, 7-10 pm \nCost: 5-15 Euros \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: all levels welcome \nWhat to Bring:  yourself\, optionally ropes  (we can also lend you ropes) \nSolo or Partnered:  both work\, this is peer learning so partners are not necessary \n  \nSchedule: \n6.45 pm-7:05 pm: doors open (to ensure a safer space\, we ask you to be on time so everyone can see who is present at the starting circle)\n7:15 pm: starting circle\n7.30 pm – 10:00 pm: peer learning and social hangout\, space is chatty and there is no music \n  \nFormat: \nYour role as a participant is to share your knowledge and to get inspired by other people. The power of the facilitator is over the space and safety\, not over the knowledge shared. \n  \nAre you a newbie? \nWelcome to the hangout! You can attend at any time of your rope journey. We recommend sharing what you know with others even if you just began to tie. Teaching is the best way to learn! To get started with your rope skills\, take a look at our workshop schedule.\nWe recommend that you arrive at the beginning of the night. We have an introduction circle and go through the code of conduct and other important information. You will also see who else is there. If you can’t make it to the starting circle\, please contact us in advance.\nYou can always attend Rope Hangout alone and find new friends when you get there. If you feel socially awkward\, like many of us do\, bring someone you trust with you\, or send us a message in advance so we can prepare to give you extra support. \n  \nWhat’s the space like? \na kitchen and hang-out area \n2 mezzanines for private tying \none large room with suspension points\, hashiras\, bamboo\, and rings provided. \nIn the summer: the silent garden (you can tie in the garden in the summer breeze but we keep noise levels low in this area. \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. SUMMARY:Ropes and Sex with Barkas & Addie
DESCRIPTION:  \nBarkas and Addie usually teach with the goal of separating the practice of rope from inherent expectations or assumptions of sexual contact. But that does not mean that they do not practice and enjoy sexual rope as well! \nThis 3-part-workshop-series will focus on rope techniques for sex and ideas on how to sexualize ropes. We will not only look at ways of queering approaches to rope and sex (however you define and practice it) but also engage in a deconstruction of sex\, sexuality\, intimacy\, and eroticism in the context of ropes. \nContent warning: this series is explicit. \n  \nPart I: DECONSTRUCTION\nJune 19th\, 2024\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \n  \nPart II: ROPE BASICS FOR SEX LIKE EVERYONE IMAGINES SEX\nJune 26th\, 2024\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \n  \nPart III: QUEERING SEX AND ROPE\nJuly 3rd\, 2024\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \n  \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time: June 19th & 26th\, July 3rd\, 2024\, 7 pm-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Single column tie. SUMMARY:Open Rope Training for Beginners: Hojo Cuffs & Strappados
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly open training is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. \nOur open rope training for beginners is a continuous offer for anyone looking for a regular practice space to advance their skills. Each time we will offer a teaching on one particular topic. Depending on your skill level and how quickly you can pick up on things\, you can then either use the remaining open-space time to practice this one new skill in your own time or you can up the ante with the help of your teacher. You can also choose to train your own skills on another topic if you like and have a teacher give you feedback and help you improve. \n  \nTopic of the week: Hojo Cuffs & Strappados \nThe Hojo cuff is a technique that lets you tie a single-column tie in the middle of the rope. Join this session to learn a strappado pattern that is built using hojo cuffs. This session will be great training for both your abstract thinking and your rope-handling skills. \n  \nTeacher of the week: Caritia \nCaritia’s style is an eclectic one\, blended as it is from 20+ years in kink and learning to tie (and getting tied) from a diverse range of Japanese and Northern European instructors. After twelve years on this path\, which has ebbed and flowed\, ‘I’m forever a curious student’. Focused on accessibility\, from pedagogy to diverse movement (stillness)\, specializing in the body\, floorwork\, partial suspensions\, and adaptive ties\, Caritia infuses (her) teachings with laughter as a key element of play.\n \n  \nYou can come alone or with a partner. You can tie yourself or your partner. Alternatively\, you can partner up with another participant. \nYou can but do not need to bring any ropes as we will provide workshop ropes for you. \nYou can also spontaneously come by on the day and purchase a ticket online right up to the beginning of the class if there is space left. \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier so we can process your ticket and welcome you. Once the class has started we do not allow entry. You cannot transfer your ticket to another week. If you are not sure you can come\, please purchase your ticket on the day as soon as you are absolutely sure you can make it. \nIf you know you will come to the open training more than just once\, please ask for our discount card! (For every 5 classes\, the 6th class is on us!) \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  every other Wednesday\, 7 pm-9 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you have knowledge on the topics of rope safety\, consent\, and boundaries\, you have been to our “Rope for Absolute Beginners” class at  or have solid knowledge of single & double-column ties\, wrapping\, tension & counter tension \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes that are more tight fitting if possible\, 1-3 of your own ropes (we can also provide ropes for you) \nSolo or Partnered:  solo\, partnered\, in a group (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros \n  \nWhat happens next? \nThe Open Rope Training for Beginners is an ongoing course designed to run approx. 8 months with constantly new topics. SUMMARY:Playfight & Rough Body Play Lab
DESCRIPTION:Use your body in a vastly different way. Restricted\, restrained\, maybe even tamed – our bodies are subdued to very strict rules and movements in our daily lives. Time to get primal and rough. Rough body play allows for more fighting\, emotions\, and a deeper exploration of power dynamics than play fights. \nOnce a month we open Karada House for 2 hours of randori (free fights) time to try your new skills and have fun. Our amazing instructor Montse will guide through \n• warm-up exercises \n• consent & safety \n• dos & don’ts \nAfter that – fight! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  every third Tuesday of the month\, 7.30 pm-9.30 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you need to know your body\, its boundaries\, and needs in terms of health and safety \nWhat to Bring: comfortable\, sport clothes that are more tight fitting if possible \nSolo or Partnered:  solo\, partnered\, in a group (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros \n  \nMandatory Covid-19 rules \nIf you would like to inform yourself about other safety measures we have in place\, please consult our Covid-19 measurements here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nWomên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \n  \nWhat else to know \nBefore purchasing a solidarity ticket\, please check here if you are eligible for one.

SUMMARY:The Single Greatest Rope Exercise. Ever!
DESCRIPTION:  \nNot an exaggeration! If Addie could teach everyone\, regardless of level\, just one exercise it would be this one. It covers protecting finger joints\, nailing and maintaining tension\, preventing rope burn\, and body handling and movement while tying. And it results in a suspensionable harness\, if you are into that! \nPeople are welcome to switch\, come solo and find someone to tie with\, or come solo and practice on themselves. Not quite as effective but still worthwhile. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  June 5th\, 2024\, 7 pm-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single column tie\, standard frictions \nWhat to Bring:  ropes\, if you want to tie along \nSolo or Partnered:  all constellations welcome (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes.
