SUMMARY:The Concept of Play
DESCRIPTION:Rope is hard. Rope makes our brains think so much. We focus so much on the tie that we forget how to be playful in rope. We get caught up in patterns and structure that we forget about discovery and collaboration. In this class we will learn rope all over again. No rules. Like a preschooler with a box of crayons we are going to color outside the lines. We are going to explore ways to incorporate play back into our rope so that we can connect our partners in the moments. And bottoms we will learn to influence that fun and collaborate with our partners to tie our bodies in new and exciting ways. After leaving this class rope will make you smile rather than make you frustrated. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: Hands-On & demo \nMinimum Knowledge Level: None \nWhat to Bring: at least 4 lengths of 8m rope is needed to take the class \nSolo or Partnered: both work \nClass recording: Yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:Rope for Resistance
DESCRIPTION:As we navigate an era where our bodies face increasing scrutiny and society becomes more rigid in binary thinking\, what does it mean to engage in a rope practice? How can we communicate effectively and foster a sense of community? \nWhat role does social media play in planning and organizing events like these\, especially when certain words\, phrases\, and acronyms are banned or lead to shadowbanning?\nLet’s come together to thoughtfully share our ideas and strategies for maintaining body autonomy and meaningful connections. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: Discussion \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Any & All \nWhat to Bring: Pen\, Paper & Questions \nSolo or Partnered: All constellations welcome \nClass recording: Yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:Self tying for masturbation
DESCRIPTION:For a lot of us self tyers\, masturbation is a big part of the practice\, but it usually stays hidden. Now it’s time to shed light on the ancient practice of giving yourself a hand. Ceci will share practical ties and tricks they gathered along the way on their 13 year journey of being a horny rope geek. This is a tie-along workshop for the dry run of hot solo ties. Pants stay on and we’re not wanking on camera. \nWe will work with floor ties and semi suspension\, and take a look at genital oriented tying too. If you have access to ropes that can be washed\, this is a great opportunity to get those babies out. For example macrame string can work well for this purpose. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: tie-along workshop \nMinimum Knowledge Level: You are able to follow along with tying harnesses. You are able to fluently manage uplines if you plan to do partial suspension. \nWhat to Bring: 5 ropes\, a washable rope or string if you have one (for genitals). \nSolo or Partnered: solo \nClass recording: Yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:QUEEROPE 2025 Full Conference Ticket
DESCRIPTION:QUEEROPE 2025 is a 5-day virtual conference for mostly shibari/kinbaku/Japanese-inspired bondage that is exclusively for LGBTQIA+ people and womên. \nWe welcome all roles (rigger/tops\, model/bottoms\, switches\, etc.)\, all knowledge levels (beginner\, intermediate\, advanced)\, and all styles to this gathering that aims to bring queer & female-identifying practitioners together to celebrate their love for rope and exchange knowledge and experiences. \nClick here to see the full Program \n  \nline-up:  \nAddie Tahl (Canada) \nAmaya (Costa Rica) \nBenoît Descordes & Noémie Knot_NiDi (France) \nCaritia (UK/Germany) \nCeci Ferox (Finland/Germany) \nChiaki (Japan) \nGombé (Japan) \nhua hua (UK/China) \nLief Bound & Icky (USA) \nNaoko (UK/Hong Kong) \nThe Switch Assembly: Amnesia Jane\, Viking & Kasia (Canada) \nSalem X & Axel (USA) \nSophia Rose & René de Sans (UK/Germany) \nYada Kaewburee (Thailand) \n  \nDetails: \n– 5 days of virtual workshops\, performances\, demonstrations\, discussions\, etc. \n– 1 warm-up session and 4 x 2-hour slots per day \n– language: English \n– the conference aims to be held from 12pm Berlin (3 am San Francisco / 6 am New York / 8 pm Tokyo / 10 pm Melbourne) to 10.30 pm Berlin (1.30 pm San Francisco / 4.30 pm New York / 5.30 am Tokyo /8.30 am Melbourne) time \n– all classes except for the global rope jam will be recorded and will be available for 30 days after the conference for all attendees to watch/re-watch \n  \nCosts: \nConference tickets are valid for one person for the entire conference and include access to the recordings of all classes for 30 days after the event. We have different kinds of conference tickets: \n  \nFull Pass \nRegular ticket: 150 Euros \nSupporter ticket: 200 Euros (The 50 Euros added onto your ticket will subsidize our solidarity tickets with 50 Euros. For each sold supporter ticket we will add a solidarity ticket to the pot). \nSolidarity ticket: 100 Euros \n  \nFAQ: \nHow do you define “LGBTQIA+” & “womên”? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, and agender. \nWomên describes people who identify themselves as female in their gender identity. People who fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that emphasizes that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nI am not LGBTQIA+ and not a womên\, can I still attend? \nNo\, please respect that this particular event is not for you. There are lots of other events you can attend. But Queerope one is solely for people of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum & womên. \nI cannot afford the ticket but would love to join. What do I do? \nSend us a message via info@karada-house.de and we’ll see what we can do. \nWhat platform do you use for the virtual conference? \nWe need to use Zoom as it is the only platform available that is affordable and stable enough for bigger groups. Please make sure you can fulfill the requirements for Zoom from your side to have a satisfactory experience.  We will do our best to make the zoom calls safe by engaging all possible security features. You do not have to turn your camera on and you can use any name you like. \nThe times don’t always work for me / I cannot attend everything I want… \nThat is why we will make recordings available to you\, so you can watch & re-watch them within 30 days. \nIf I share my computer with a person\, is buying one ticket enough? \nNo. You are not paying for the computer access but for the knowledge that the facilitators and artists are distributing. Please respect that knowledge has worth and should be compensated. \nI am all alone at the moment and have no partner. Does it still make sense to participate? \nAbsolutely. There will be a variety of topics and skills and not all of them require a partner. You can learn a lot even just by listening and watching or trying things on yourself. We will also provide knowledge and possibilities for self-tying & suspension and other solo practices.

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training (Intermediate): Movement in partial suspension
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. \nPlease note that the classes will be taught in different styles from this level onwards.  \nTeacher: Ceci Ferox \nStyle: Ceci’s tying is best described as fusion-style with a deep understanding of different schools of Japanese rope bondage. They are a specialist in modifying harnesses to different body shapes\, sizes\, compositions\, and abilities. Ceci is driven by understanding why people tie the way they tie\, and loves to deconstruct technique and communication into their basic elements to understand them better. In suspension\, Ceci prefers working low\, staying connected\, and moving through transitions. \nTopic of Exploration: Movement in partial suspension \nSuspension lines offer a juicy dimension for tying in movement. Through restriction comes creativity\, and the rope becomes a support that brings more verticality to your play. In this open rope training\, Ceci will guide you through exercises that help you get the most out of movement. \n  \nEvent Details\n\nDate & Time:  every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month\, 7 pm-9 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single-/double column tie\, basic frictions\, you need to be able to tie an upper body harness\, simple up-lines \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes that are more tight fitting if possible\, a set of 8 of your own ropes\, safety equipment \nSolo or Partnered:  preferably partnered but you can also partner up in the class with other solo people or tie yourself (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros per person \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier so we can process your ticket and welcome you. Once the class has started we do not allow entry. You cannot transfer your ticket to another week. If you are not sure you can come\, please purchase your ticket on the day as soon as you are absolutely sure you can make it. \nIf you know you will come to the open training more than just once\, please ask for our discount card! (For every 5 classes\, the 6th class is on us!) \n  \nMandatory Covid-19 rules\nIf you would like to inform yourself about other safety measures we have in place\, please consult our Covid-19 measurements here. \n  \nAccessibility Note\n\nWe teach in spoken English. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. SUMMARY:Starting with self suspension
DESCRIPTION:Join Ceci in exploring all you need to start self-suspension: safety\, locking suspension lines\, and easy suspendable harnesses. \nCeci will guide you in tying harnesses that suit your body and needs. They demonstrate on themself\, a fat person with limited capacity for pain\, which means that the default harnesses are supportive and use a lot of rope. You will get modifications for more challenging\, minimalistic self suspension variations but these will not be demonstrated. \nYou might practice securing suspension lines until your hands hurt\, so make sure to bring whatever you need to care for yourself. Ceci will give you a realistic run-down of self suspension risks so you can make informed decisions. \nWe will work on a self suspension based on wishes in the group. Your options are the M shape\, side suspension\, or face up suspension.\nYou will need at least 5 body ropes (Ceci uses 6) and 4 suspension lines. We can lend out ropes to use on the body if you don’t have enough. The workshop includes mostly hands on practice with some lecture and conversation content. There will be a lunch break. \n  \nEvent Details\nDate & Time: February 8th\, 2024\, 11am – 5pm (lunch break included) \nFormat: Workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level:  You \n\nare confident with your single and double-column ties and can fluently tie your preferred frictions.\ncan control your rope tension.\ncan set boundaries when workshop contents exceed your resources and abilities.\n\nWhat to Bring: 9 ropes (depending on your body size and pain threshold). SUMMARY:Transitions in Rope
DESCRIPTION:You’ve been doing rope suspensions for a while and now it’s time to go from more static into transitions? Perfect! There’s no better person to teach you all the tipps and tricks than Addie! Prepare yourselves for four masterful sessions that will blow your mind  (and not your joints!) and add several options for progressions and lots and lots of nerdy useful tricks to your repertoire. \nWe highly recommend you take these classes as one 4-class series. However\, you can also choose to take classes 1-3 individually. The 4th class is advance and relies on the knowledge and material of the other three\, so this one is only available in the package deal. \nNote: If you wish to purchase only single sessions\, please click on the name of the session below. For the entire series\, please purchase the series ticket all the way at the end of this page. \n  \nClass 1: Side Suspension Transitions (February 3rd\, 2025\, 6-8.30pm CET)\nSide suspension with multiple options for progression including tying a mid-air futomomo tie or lowering on the tying person’s shoulders. Lots of bells and whistles! \nClass 2: Running Person Transitions (February 11th\, 2025\, 6-8.30pm CET)\nRunning person and transitions\, including to face down or face up\, torsions\, and rotation to side. Special attention to balancing a tie for upright suspension\, and the body mechanics of keeping that shape. \nClass 3: Face Down Transitions (March 3rd\, 2025\, 6-8.30pm CET)\nFace down to inversion\, inversion to face up or face up\, and variations on this theme. This class will look at handling two suspension lines at once\, and tricks for accurately guesstimating suspension line lengths to suit and match the height of the person in suspension. \nClass 4: Colloquially called ‘WTF Suspension’ (March 17th\, 2025\, 6-8.30pm CET) \nThis class looks at freeform suspension progressions\, working without a predefined plan or sequence. We will set some ground rules and risk mitigation for experimentation\, as well as ways to avoid repetition and generate spontaneity (yay games!). We will also cover tricks for maintaining longevity in the air (offloading and circulation fixes!) and how to collaborate even when no one\nknows what’s coming next. Special note! This is an advanced suspension class and cannot be taken separately. Participants must have taken classes 1-3 and be able to handle that material\ncompetently. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 3rd & 11th\, March 3rd & 17th\, 2005\, 6 pm-8.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Class 1-3: intermediate to advanced suspension skills. You should be able to tie basicstatic suspensions and be exploring transitions. Your uplines should be quick\, smooth\, and safe\, and should be able to tweak things to suit the person in ropes. The dynamic between the tying pair should be collaborative and supportive with a sense of humour\nand adventure. Class 4: advanced suspension skills. The materials from classes 1-3 should be comfortable for you\, not at the limit of your skillset\, and participants must have taken the other three classes. All suspensions can be done from hands front or back harnesses\, and potentially chest harnesses if they are solid and can take the strain of multiple transitions. There is no\nrequirement for flexibility or longevity in the air. \nWhat to Bring:  ropes and a partner\, if you want to tie along \nSolo or Partnered:  all constellations welcome (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be made available after the last live class for 14 days after the end of the entire series (so there is time!) \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:BIPOC Utopias – Kink & Intimacy
DESCRIPTION:This is a separatist space to discuss and lab about kink\, intimacy\, and virtual play space for black\, brown and Indigenous folks. \nFor quite some time\, Caritia has been musing on encouraging and inspiring more BIPOC into the realm of alternative lifestyles and ways of relating. There are many systemic barriers to this\, including patriarchy\, capitalism\, classism and racism. In an effort to change the narrative\, Caritia wishes to offer a monthly gathering of BIPOC to talk\, learn about a topic or practice and support one another through a community that is actively built together\, with the aspiration to gather in person once a year. \nCaritia’s intention is to create a guided\, active space for learning and coming together. This format has the potential to morph and change as the group sees fit. \nThis space is specifically for Afro-diaspora\, South American\, black\, brown\, Indigenous\, and marginalized individuals who are interested in kink and BDSM through the lens of intersectional nuances and transformative justice. This space may not fit for all marginalised demographics\, as it is impossible to cover such diversity in one space. \n  \nWhat we will do: \nFebruary – Consent\, communication and impact play \nMarch – Negotiations and Power dynamics \nApril – What’s new? Questions & Curiosity ask anything time. \nMay – Rope Rope Rope \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 2nd\, 2025\, 7-8.30pm CET \nFormat: lab (virtual) \nAudience:  BIPOC  \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: All levels welcome \nWhat to Bring: \nSolo or Partnered:  all constellations welcome (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: No \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. SUMMARY:Torsions for Self-Suspension
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop for understanding how to create self-suspended twisted shapes\, where the upper and lower body are pointing in different directions. \nTorsions challenge the body in different ways: breath restriction\, stretching that calls the body to relax\, and the sense of being frozen in the middle of the movement. These are also the reasons why twisted shapes are especially hard to achieve in self-suspension. This workshop focuses on practical information and ties for torsion success. We will talk about the logic of upper and lower body ties suitable for self-tied torsions. Ceci will demo body mechanics and transitioning into and out of torsions in self- suspension. \nThis is a tie-along workshop\, and Ceci will wait for you to have your harnesses ready before starting the suspension. The process is easier if you can have your camera on. You need some flexibility\, as you will tie frictions on your lower ribcage in the back. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 30th\, 2025\, 7 – 10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: lab (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: You have already tied some patterns and have suspendes yourself successfully \nWhat to Bring: You will need enough rope for making a chest harness (1.5-3 ropes)\, a lower body harness (2-3 ropes)\, plus 3 suspension lines. \nSolo or Partnered:  solo \nClass recording: Yes. Only the facilitator will be recorded. The recording will be sent out after the live class and will be available for 14 days. \n  \nWhat we will teach \n. Chest harnesses and lower body ties for self-tied torsions\n. Body mechanics and transitioning \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Open Rope Training (Intermediate): Durational Harnesses
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. \nPlease note that the classes will be taught in different styles from this level onwards.  \nWe start the class intuitively by following individual impulses with rope. After that\, the main part of the evening we focus on the systematic management of rope\, body handling\, and safety principles: knots\, wrapping\, and aesthetic frictions. The material contains a wide range of harnesses for floor work and simple semi-suspension. It is strongly inspired by the shibari works of Japanese artists Dasniya learned from over the last fifteen years. There is time to switch roles to better understand restriction from both the perspectives of the person tying and the person getting tied so you can experience anything from sexy phantasies and meditative ties. \n  \nTopic of Exploration: DURATIONAL HARNESSES \nIn this workshop we will look at classical full body ties for simple suspension. The Hishi-structure is a gradually tightening mermaid shape which is helpful to understand specific decorative elements. It adapts to all bodies and is especially fun to untie wild and dynamically.\nDuring the learning process it needs some patience from the model\, but invites also to deep relaxation and dreamy rope drunkenness. \n  \nTeacher: Dasniya Sommer \nStyle: Dasniya’s basic rope style orientates strongly towards Japanese Kinbaku artists: Akira Naka and Kasumi Horai– whom she attended workshops with in Europe and Japan. Other inspirations are found in the work of Norio Sugiura\, and the legacy of Nureki Chimuo\, who can be considered the protagonists of this ‘school/their era’. The tying system is often considered to be an advanced technique. But with regular practice\, attention to detail\, and to safety an adapted version for European bodies and perspectives can be taught from scratch. It combines a mix of basic shapes\, improvising principles and it trains a sensitive intuition for consequent restriction. \nDasniya’s personal tying is also informed by her longtime dance training and Buddhist background. Rigging from the perspective of the moving body\, and mindful listening to impulses and resonance often create a meditative vibe to get high on ropes. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 28th\, 7 pm-9 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single-/double column tie\, basic frictions\, you need to be able to tie a box tie /TK\, simple up-lines \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes that are more tight fitting if possible\, a set of 8 of your own ropes\, safety equipment \nSolo or Partnered:  preferably partnered but you can also partner up in the class with other solo people or tie yourself (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros per person \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier so we can process your ticket and welcome you. Once the class has started we do not allow entry. You cannot transfer your ticket to another week.
