SUMMARY:Open Rope Training (Intermediate): Slow Self- Suspension and Performance
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. \nPlease note that the classes will be taught in different styles from this level onwards.  \nWe start the class intuitively by following individual impulses with rope. After that\, the main part of the evening we focus on the systematic management of rope\, body handling\, and safety principles: knots\, wrapping\, and aesthetic frictions. The material contains a wide range of harnesses for floor work and simple semi-suspension. It is strongly inspired by the shibari works of Japanese artists Dasniya learned from over the last fifteen years. There is time to switch roles to better understand restriction from both the perspectives of the person tying and the person getting tied so you can experience anything from sexy phantasies and meditative ties. \n  \nTopic of Exploration: Slow Self- Suspension and Performance \nThe workshop is inspired by my rope performance for ‚Raven – with Long Covid‘\, a festival by Showcase Beat Le Mots at Hau1 early this year. The self-suspension evolved around body caring narratives as part of a playful mobilé structure.Sustainability in the air\, cosyness and questions around safety were core principles.\nWe will look at the harness and alternative support structures that were used to create a light hearted vibe\, yet maintaining the shibari experience: dreamy psycho-physical states and individual presence. \nPlease bring along a cushion you like to tie. \n  \nTeacher: Dasniya Sommer \nStyle: Dasniya’s basic rope style orientates strongly towards Japanese Kinbaku artists: Akira Naka and Kasumi Horai– whom she attended workshops with in Europe and Japan. Other inspirations are found in the work of Norio Sugiura\, and the legacy of Nureki Chimuo\, who can be considered the protagonists of this ‘school/their era’. The tying system is often considered to be an advanced technique. But with regular practice\, attention to detail\, and to safety an adapted version for European bodies and perspectives can be taught from scratch. It combines a mix of basic shapes\, improvising principles and it trains a sensitive intuition for consequent restriction. \nDasniya’s personal tying is also informed by her longtime dance training and Buddhist background. Rigging from the perspective of the moving body\, and mindful listening to impulses and resonance often create a meditative vibe to get high on ropes. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 25th\, 2025\, 7 pm-9 pm CET (Berlin) \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single-/double column tie\, basic frictions\, you need to be able to tie a box tie /TK\, simple up-lines \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes that are more tight fitting if possible\, a set of 8 of your own ropes\, safety equipment \nSolo or Partnered:  preferably partnered but you can also partner up in the class with other solo people or tie yourself (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros per person \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. SUMMARY:Cuddles\, Cakes and Kinks
DESCRIPTION:  \nWelcome to Cuddles\, Cakes and Kinks\, your monthly aftercare event to take a break from cisheteropatriarchy\, capitalism\, the burning world\, or life in general. We’re here to rest so we can resist\, to play as an antidote to pressure\, and to let the people eat cake.\nWe are opening our wonderful house for the evening so you can come by\, relax\, and calm down amongst other queer people. There will be hammocks and little areas for cuddling and enjoying touch. Get or give massages. Do some soft\, slow kink. Or hang out in the kitchen with us and just chat. We will be baking a bunch of cakes and there will be coffee\, tea\, and snacks to nourish your bodies and souls.\nLight and slow kink interactions are welcome. Anything that allows you to come back to yourself and into connection with others in a soft and nice way. This is not a play party or sex club\, but a playful community event. The vibe is cozy\, and we don’t do genital play.\nThere is a separate cuddle room that is completely free from any kind of play\, horny vibes\, and nudity. It’s for cuddles\, naps\, quiet conversation\, maybe reading a book. \nWhat does LIGHT and SLOW mean? \nIt means calming things down\, doing them slowly and intentionally\, with consent and good boundaries in place. It means being in community with intention\, not just intensity. It means playing in a space that is semi-private but shared. It means enjoying the energy of others being in the same space and seeking flow with each other across the room.\nWe are open and happy about what you bring as long as you do not dominate the entire room with the noise\, space you need\, or vibe. This is a shared experience so please read the room and give others space as well.\nImagine you’re doing kink for the first time – things are moving slow and shy. Maybe a spank there\, a pull of the hair there\, a bit of giggling\, a soft smooch on the lips\, a drip off a candle\, a bite on the neck\, playing cats for a while\, wrists that are tied\, a teasing run of rope across the chest.\nIf you want it wild\, hard\, and horny\, come to Wild Unicorns instead!\nDue to hygiene\, trigger potential\, and the vibe of the event\, we do not allow: \n– sideline wanking\n– full nudity outside the play area (big room)\n– blood\, pee\, scat play\n– knife play\, needle play\n– uniforms and/or role play that includes institutional power dynamics (i.e. school\, military\, police\, bürgeramt…) \nDress code \nSoft and cozy (onesies\, lounge wear\, leggings\, pajamas\, flower dresses\, hoodies…) or if you’re in the mood to dress up\, you can flag queer like you’re going to pride (fabulous outfits\, jeans shorts with pocket kerchiefs\, leather daddies\, muscle mommies\, rainbow makeup…) \nWhat’s the space like? \nkitchen and hang-out area with cake\, snacks\, tea\, coffee\, stim toys\, and an introvert’s corner.\nlarge room with mats\, cushions\, blankets\, suspension points\, hammocks\, and nice music.\nmezzanine with a massage table\, floor massage spot\, and massage oil.\ncuddle space with soft mattresses\, pillows\, blankets\, dim lights\, and soft music.\nquiet garden in the summer for touching grass and enjoying the breeze. \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 5:00 pm and stays open until 7:00 pm (sharp).\nYou will need to purchase a ticket upfront as space is limited.\nAt 5:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and want to meet others. If you come later\, you will still go through an introduction to the rules\, space\, and event at arrival.\nYou can then choose your space and mode (talk\, cuddle\, sleep\, eat cake\, light play) and enjoy yourself. \nWhat to bring \nYourself and maybe things you like to share with others.\nPlease bring a blanket or towel to put on the yoga mats we provide. \nWhat else to know \nThis event is aimed at LGBTQIA+ audiences.\nThis space is a sober space. Please do not bring any substances to the spaces or enter the space under the influence.\nNudity is welcome in the play area.\nBathrooms and showers are available. \nRules of Engagement \n\nCuddles\, cakes and kinks is a playful community event for LGBTQIA+ people. This is not a play party or sex club. We are here to connect and rest. You can cuddle\, chat\, read a book\, eat cake\, do some light and slow BDSM\, exchange massages\, or even make out. The dress code is soft and cozy or flagging queer.\nLight and slow means that you are mindful of how loud you are\, how much space you take\, and try to be in harmony with the rest of the room. Think cozy\, consensual and cute\, not intense and overwhelming.\nThis is a sober event. Please do not bring any substances to the space or enter under the influence.\nThe play space is for light and slow kink play. If you want to watch\, sit on one of the seats. You can be nude in the designated areas if you keep a towel under your butt. No sideline wanking\, scat\, piss\, sharps\, or uniforms/roleplay based on institutional power. Disinfect your spot after using\, and bring textiles to wash if you got bodily fluids on them (like sweaty butt or drool).\nThe mezzanine in the play space is for massage. Wipe off hands and feet afterwards if you use oil\, and bring socks to wear.\nThe cuddle space (back room or garden terrace) is for cuddles\, naps\, and light conversation. No nudity\, play\, or horny vibes. Ask before joining the cuddle puddle.\nThe kitchen area is for eating cake\, drinking tea\, and chatting. It’s free from play and nudity. Ask the space holders if you want a coffee. Ask us if you need sugar or gluten free options. We appreciate donations for the buffet. There’s a stim toy box.\nThe mezzanine in the kitchen is for retreating and resting\, leave people alone if they are up there.\nSmoking only in the smoking area in the garden\, next to the gate.\nBe soft and slow\, respect others and give them space. Collaborate in creating a safe and gentle mood. You get gratitude and imaginary points for helping us clean the space afterwards.\n\nAccessibility Note \nThe space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. A ramp for wheelchairs is available at all times. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. The garden is only partially accessible at the moment. During the workshop\, we will sit on the floor. Sitting in a chair can also be provided. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n

SUMMARY:Playfight & Rough Body Play Lab
DESCRIPTION:Use your body in a vastly different way. Restricted\, restrained\, maybe even tamed – our bodies are subdued to very strict rules and movements in our daily lives. Time to get primal and rough. Rough body play allows for more fighting\, emotions\, and a deeper exploration of power dynamics than play fights. \nOnce a month we open Karada House for 2 hours of randori (free fights) time to try your new skills and have fun. Our amazing instructor Montse will guide through \n• warm-up exercises \n• consent & safety \n• dos & don’ts \nAfter that – fight! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  every third Wednesday of the month\, 7-9pm \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you need to know your body\, its boundaries\, and needs in terms of health and safety \nWhat to Bring: comfortable\, sport clothes that are more tight fitting if possible \nSolo or Partnered:  solo\, partnered\, in a group (everyone needs a ticket) \nPrice: 25 Euros \n  \nMandatory Covid-19 rules \nIf you would like to inform yourself about other safety measures we have in place\, please consult our Covid-19 measurements here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. The space\, KARA\, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nWomên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \n  \nWhat else to know \nBefore purchasing a solidarity ticket\, please check here if you are eligible for one.

SUMMARY:How have I survived the Ropes in Costa Rica?
DESCRIPTION:Amaya’s journey of learning Shibari in Costa Rica has been an intense path of personal growth and a confrontation with the country’s social realities. As a fat\, pansexual woman\, she has faced significant challenges in an environment often shaped by sexism and heteronormativity\, where judgmental looks and comments are almost daily occurrences. For her\, practicing Shibari has been both a journey of self-acceptance and empowerment and an act of resistance. Despite encountering hostility both online and in person\, she has built a community around her that values respect and authenticity. This supportive network has allowed her to grow and explore Shibari on her own terms\, grounded in her body and her desires. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: Talk/Discussion \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: – \nSolo or Partnered: both \nClass recording: Yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:QUEEROPE 2025 Day Ticket: Sunday
DESCRIPTION:QUEEROPE 2024 is a 5-day virtual conference for mostly shibari/kinbaku/Japanese-inspired bondage that is exclusively for LGBTQIA+ people and womên. \nWe welcome all roles (rigger/tops\, model/bottoms\, switches\, etc.)\, all knowledge levels (beginner\, intermediate\, advanced)\, and all styles to this gathering that aims to bring queer & female-identifying practitioners together to celebrate their love for rope and exchange knowledge and experiences. \n  \nDay Pass: \n50 Euros per day pass. \nA day pass is valid for one person for the entire conference day and includes access to the recordings of the day’s classes for 30 days after the event. \nFor a full conference ticket\, please go here. \n  \n  \nFAQ: \nHow do you define “LGBTQIA+” & “womên”? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, and agender. \nWomên describes people who identify themselves as female in their gender identity. People who fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that emphasizes that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nI am not LGBTQIA+ and not a womên\, can I still attend? \nNo\, please respect that this particular event is not for you. There are lots of other events you can attend. But Queerope one is solely for people of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum & womên. \nI cannot afford the ticket but would love to join. What do I do? \nSend us a message via info@karada-house.de. If we have pay-it-forward tickets available we will make them available to you. If we don’t we will put you on a waiting list or see what else we can do. Either way\, we will find a way. \nWhat platform do you use for the virtual conference? \nWe need to use Zoom as it is the only platform available that is affordable and stable enough for bigger groups. Please make sure you can fulfill the requirements for Zoom from your side to have a satisfactory experience.  We will do our best to make the zoom calls safe by engaging all possible security features. You do not have to turn your camera on and you can use any name you like. \nThe times don’t always work for me / I cannot attend everything I want… \nThat is why we will make recordings available to you\, so you can watch & re-watch them within 30 days. \nIf I share my computer with a person\, is buying one ticket enough? \nNo. You are not paying for the computer access but for the knowledge that the facilitators and artists are distributing. Please respect that knowledge has a worth and should be compensated. \nI am all alone at the moment and have no partner. Does it still make sense to participate? \nAbsolutely. There will be a variety of topics and skills and not all of them require a partner. You can learn a lot even just by listening and watching or trying things on yourself. We will also provide knowledge and possibilities for self-tying & suspension and other solo practices. \n

SUMMARY:Playing on the edge
DESCRIPTION:Welcome the fear and struggle! This workshop explores how we can craft more intense\, sadistic\, and sometimes frankly bizarre predicaments and crueler ties with rope. There will be some demonstrations to inspire you\, as well as discussions to explore how we can approach this type of play. Every person has different limits\, limitations\, and motivations\, how can we discover and utilize this to create ties that play on each individual’s unique criteria. SUMMARY:QUEEROPE 2025 Day Ticket: Friday
