DESCRIPTION:The M-shape suspension is one of the easiest ways to get started with self-suspension. It’s relatively safe and comfortable\, and suspension lines are easy to manage. In this workshop\, Ceci will guide you through creating this shape. They will also give ideas for how to continue into transitions and additional tying from this shape. \nThis is a tie-along workshop\, and Ceci will wait for you to have your harnesses ready before starting the suspension. The process is easier if you can have your camera on. Ceci’s tying is comfort focused and designed for slowness and stillness. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the world of rope bondage\, friend! It’s wild and fun out here and we are thrilled to be your point of entry. \nThis weekly class is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. We firmly believe that everyone\, even if you wish to be tied\, should know the absolute basics of this craft. You can come alone or with a partner. Everyone will learn and tie. You can either tie yourself or another person\, switching will also be a part of this class. \nYou do not need to bring any ropes as we will provide workshop ropes for you. \nYou can also spontaneously come by on the day and purchase a ticket online right up to the beginning of the class if there is space left. \n  \nNote: \nThe class starts at 7 pm sharp. DESCRIPTION:Let’s slow down together and end the week/welcome the weekend with some soft body contact and co-regulation. \nWhether you’re an experienced cuddle slut or curious about how to cuddle with people you don’t know\, this session will provide some gentle guidance into a cozy cuddle puddle. We’ll double down on the coziness with a quiet storytime from a queer children’s book in which nothing bad ever really happens. \nTo make this a safe and comfortable space for more people\, this event is non-sexual and we want to be careful about the ways in which it will interact with our senses. With this in mind\, please wear soft\, comfortable clothing and refrain from wearing any fragrances. SUMMARY:BIPOC Utopias – Kink & Intimacy
DESCRIPTION:This is a separatist space to discuss and lab about kink\, intimacy\, and virtual play space for black\, brown and Indigenous folks. \nFor quite some time\, Caritia has been musing on encouraging and inspiring more BIPOC into the realm of alternative lifestyles and ways of relating. There are many systemic barriers to this\, including patriarchy\, capitalism\, classism and racism. In an effort to change the narrative\, Caritia wishes to offer a monthly gathering of BIPOC to talk\, learn about a topic or practice and support one another through a community that is actively built together\, with the aspiration to gather in person once a year. \nCaritia’s intention is to create a guided\, active space for learning and coming together. This format has the potential to morph and change as the group sees fit. \nThis space is specifically for Afro-diaspora\, South American\, black\, brown\, Indigenous\, and marginalized individuals who are interested in kink and BDSM through the lens of intersectional nuances and transformative justice. DESCRIPTION:This is a practical workshop to dip your feet into caning or to just have a moment of painful fun in your day. We will talk about the safety of caning\, show you how to do it\, and then it’s your turn to explore the drumming of flesh. You can come solo and find a partner in class or come with a person. Be prepared to both give and receive pain if you pair up at the workshop. \nNote:\nCaning can produce very prominent bruising and swelling\, in some cases even a mild fever. DESCRIPTION:Rope Bondage exists in space and time. We need to necessarily tie somewhere but this somewhere is not obvious. Every point in space implies a time\, a situation\, as well as an orientation\, which\, in turn implies a direction. \nIn this workshop series we will look at the different spatial and temporal aspects of tying. The questions arising are not as philosophical as they seem. \nThis is a hands-on workshop series with plenty of down-to-earth tips and tricks for tying. We explore what it can mean to tie on the floor\, to tie standing up\, to suspend. We will move around in space and we will see how the session changes when we pick a different direction of the tie. We also check out the advantages of a heightened spatial (and temporal) awareness for technical aspects of rope bondage. DESCRIPTION:  \nIT’S ROPE JAM TIME! \nRope Jams are spaces to meet people who love to tie or be tied (or both) and/or bring your tying partner(s) to have a wonderful session together in a space with like-minded people. \nAll roles\, levels\, styles\, etc. are welcome. \nIn the last hour of the jam\, we will lower the lights and music and make it cozy. \n  \nWhat’s the space like? \na kitchen and hang-out area \n2 mezzanines for private tying \none large room with suspension points\, hashiras\, bamboo and rings provided. \nIn the summer: the silent garden (you can tie in the garden in the summer breeze but we keep noise levels low in this area. \n  \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 7:00 pm and stays open until 9:00 pm (sharp). \nYou will need to purchase a ticket upfront as space is limited.  \nAt 7:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and/or new to the jam (format). \nYou can then choose your space to tie (we offer bamboo\, ring\, and spaces for floorwork). SUMMARY:Open Rope Training for Beginners: Arms in the Back Harness Part I
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly open training is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. \nOur open rope training for beginners is a continuous offer for anyone looking for a regular practice space to advance their skills. Each time we will offer a teaching on one particular topic. Depending on your skill level and how quickly you can pick up on things\, you can then either use the remaining open-space time to practice this one new skill in your own time or you can up the ante with the help of your teacher. You can also choose to train your own skills on another topic if you like and have a teacher give you feedback and help you improve. \n  \nTopic of the week: Arms in the back\, Part I\nThe TK or box tie is a classical staple of rope bondage. This open training focuses on perfecting the first wraps of your arms back harness. You will also learn modifications for different flexibility levels. \nTeacher of the week: Ceci Ferox \n  \n\nYou can come alone or with a partner. You can tie yourself or your partner. SUMMARY:An Introduction to Thinking Traumatophilically
DESCRIPTION:This interdisciplinary event brings together clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst Avgi Saketopoulou\, artist and researcher Andrea Rimon\, and pro-domme Sophia Rose for a lecture and discussion exploring the concept of traumatophilia. \nTraumatophilia refers to the fact that we are drawn to touching our wounds\, even to reopen them. Individuals might seek out to engage with past trauma not out of some pathological impulse but to brush up against it\, making contact with what is opaque and unrepresentable in the self. This may\, in turn\, open pathways for psychic and emotional transformation. Building on ideas from Saketopoulou’s book Sexuality Beyond Consent: Risk\, Race\, Traumatophilia\, the discussion highlights how traumatophilia\, in conjunction with her concept of limit consent\, offers new ways to understand kink as a practice for working with traumatic material. \nUnlike affirmative consent\, which Saketopoulou argues overpromises\, limit consent is not something we “exercise” or something that is “done” to us: it has more to do\, rather\, with surrendering to an other or\, more precisely\, with surrendering to the opacity in the other and to the opacity in ourselves. Limit consent\, in other words\, dares into those gray areas where desire\, risk\, and uncertainty intermingle. This concept challenges rigid binaries of consent and non-consent\, proposing a nuanced framework for exploring the complexities of relational and erotic experiences. \nThe discussion also introduces Saketopoulou’s idea of exigent sadism\, a form of sadism that emerges not as careless cruelty but of a queer form of cruelty that also involves the sadist’s own vulnerability as well as a measure of support for the other. Exigent sadism is an ethical variant that stages the necessary and imperative parameters for the other to endure something difficult. This is an urgent\, relational call to engage with the other through intense and sometimes painful experiences. DESCRIPTION:In Torture\, Play\, and the Black Experience\, Aaron Trammell states that “play functions as a tool of subjugation—one that hurts as much as it heals and has been complicit in the systemic erasure of BIPOC people from the domain of leisure.” \nThis workshop explores the absence of BIPOC individuals from intimacy spaces—both educational and physical—and examines the barriers they face.
