DESCRIPTION:As humans living in these bodies\, we hold many possibilities to explore creatively\, yet how often do we do so? Especially as adults. Let’s be a little sadistic\, a little bratty and very playful. Participants are invited to spend 3-hours in play with their senses – sight\, sound\, smell\, touch and taste. Through intentional games that encourages exploration with these temporary limitations. To expose boundaries held around – movement in space\, touching with objects and body parts that are not your hands\, resisting/hiding reactions and more. \nIn this play-shop Caritia will offer short explorative games in various partnered and group constellations to allow for intentional fun and discovery of your body from a kinky and creative perspective. Part hangout\, part jamming with other like-minded people who are into rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku. Come and hang out and watch others do ropey stuff or do some yourself.  The queer rope jam is where you can bring your (rope) partner(s) or meet new people who love to tie\, be tied and/or self-tie. We will dive deeper into topics\, techniques and ideas that give more range and depth to your rope practice. \nTopic of Exploration: Predicaments in Partial Suspension\nPredicaments are positions that give the person tied the opportunity to move between two or more positions that suck. In this class\, we will use partial suspensions to create ties that fuck with the mind. Ceci will demonstrate some fundamentals and ideas\, after which you will practice creating your own predicament ties. It’s possible to either copy what is shown or come up with your own version. Any kind of body can be tied in the class. You have to understand the risks of suspension on both sides of the rope to join this class.

The evening consists of a two part butoh performance by Ken Mai\, exhibition opening talk by Renée De Sans\, and free mingling while viewing the art. \nParticipants of the Ken Mai – Metamorphosis workshop have free entry. \nEmpty Rope –Photography Exhibition by Renée de Sans\nIn Empty Rope\, Renée de Sans explores Shibari by separating its two essential elements: the rope and the human body. Though inherently intertwined in this practice\, they are presented apart – uncovering new meanings and tensions through their disconnection. \nThe exhibition consists of two photographic series. The first captures Shibari patterns shaped into sculptural forms\, floating without a body. Empty ropes emphasizing the craft and geometry of the technique\, an object of design and intention. \nThe second series portrays bodies marked by the rope – traces of pressure\, memory\, and sensation – yet free from the ropes themselves. DESCRIPTION:Adding a third or fourth rope to a TK (takate-kote) is a common practice in semenawa\, enriching the tie by adapting it to specific needs and intentions. This workshop will focus on how to incorporate these additional ropes across a variety of contexts. Whether used to support complex positions like gyaku ebi\, optimize vertical suspensions\, introduce constraint\, restrict breathing\, or achieve a particular aesthetic\, these ropes can serve diverse and powerful roles. \nWe’ll explore the foundational requirements of the TK in greater depth\, and how to effectively integrate the third and fourth ropes. You’ll be introduced to various construction techniques and learn how to creatively freestyle variations based on your own needs and preferences. \nA key component of this class will focus on upper body anatomy – particularly how the third and fourth ropes interact with different body shapes\, volumes\, and sensitivities. We’ll examine chest shape\, shoulder mobility\, and the distribution of tissue and muscle\, and how these factors influence rope placement. This understanding is essential for adapting your tying with precision and care – not just for safety\, but to achieve intentional and responsive effects. \nRather than applying a fixed pattern\, we will emphasize an approach based on observation\, responsiveness\, and adaptation to the individual in front of you. \nTo enrich the learning experience\, Bänana will be joined by several rope partners with diverse body types\, anatomical characteristics\, and rope needs. Throughout the session\, participants will have the opportunity to switch roles between tying and being tied—gaining a fuller understanding of restriction from both perspectives. Whether you are drawn to meditative ties\, sensual exploration\, or technical precision\, this class offers a space to experience rope with curiosity and care. \nThis Month’s Exploration: Adrenaline – Rope Fight Club & Rope escape Training\nIn this rope study class we will connect systems of consequent restriction with system of movements. Dasniya will open her vast dancers tool box to creatively expand the traditional shibari vocabulary. \nThe class ‚Rope fight club’ likes to playfully challenge shibari-harnesses from within the ropes. Using restriction of limbs to sweetly thrust\, scuffle and mingle with your partner in crime. Once rules and personal boundaries are set\, let‘s cheer on and venture into releasing more spicy group adrenaline. \nMats and blankets are in the space\, if like more softness around your joints please bring knee pads. And more for fun a pair of boxing bandages to dress up or costume.
