SUMMARY:Andrea Rimon & Georg Barkas: Opening Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Before the sessions begin\, we will provide a verbal how-to for the days to come. What motivated the conference; what can you\, the participants expect and what do we\, the organizers expect? This is also the place for a brief discussion of housekeeping during the conference. The content will be pinned on the conference page to re-visit during the conference.\n  \nThis session is part of the Queer Practices / Queer Embodiment remote transdisciplinary conference that aims to bring together artists\, theorists\, and practitioners. The conference continues our work of building a community that is focused on intentionally developing bodily practices. We want our space to be a place for political growth and experimentation using all the materials that bodywork\, sex education\, and cultural inquiry can provide. \nWe aim to take advantage of the opportunity for an online conference. We seek to engage a broader audience that may be familiar with sex-positive culture but is not necessarily attuned to a wider set of political concerns\, or approaches to gender and sexuality that are more often encountered within academic\, activist\, and artistic spaces. We want to put together a conference that will be open to the public and focus on fostering challenging yet accessible conversation. \nQueer Practices / Queer Embodiment is curated and organized by a collaborative team consisting of Andrea Rimon (an intimacy choreographer and movement artist) and Georg Barkas (a tying and sexuality educator) and Karada House in Berlin (a queer art/research space). It is sponsored by Karada House and Github for Good. \nYou can browse the full program and get access to this session/the conference here \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 30th\, 2021\, 6 pm – 6.45 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: transdisciplinary conference \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English\, automated closed captions provided \nRecording: yes\, will be available for 30 days to the participants of the conference \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with all the necessary data for this event. \nThis event is free. You can also choose a payment for your ticket which will be used by Karada House to finance similar events in the future. \nphoto: Caio Oviedo

SUMMARY:Semenawa/Kink Play/Predicament/Supporture Fun\, Kanna Style! Weekend Intensive
DESCRIPTION:  \nFor Nawashi Kanna aesthetics and patterns are what comes after deeply connecting to your partner and giving them sweet consensual torment\, delicious suffering and sweet relief. In Kanna’s school of rope / Kanna-ryu every rope\, every placement\, every tension and action should have an intention that the person tying is controlling. \nIn this weekend intensive workshop\, you will learn rope for playing and interacting with your partner in the modes of seme (“torture” rope)\, predicamtent\, rope for kink play and “supporture” (seme rope with extra care to make it supportive for all bodies and abilities). Kanna and Kagura will show you how to tie and control your sessions in multi-faceted ways depending on your intention. They will also teach you techniques\, tricks\, and ways of thinking about tormenting your partner by managing the placement\, lines\, tension \, timing\, direction\, distribution of the weight\, gravity\, body structure and limitations. \nThis workshop supports and encourages your understanding of the structure of the body and your partner’s abilities\, states and preferences\, reading the tension and your partner’s face and body language\, predicting what will happen with your ropes and your partner’s physical feelings in them\, as well as putting your own preferences into efficient and meaningful ties. \n  \n  \nIn Kanna & Kagura’s own words: \nWhether it’s the first time to meet you\, or it’s been a while\, or you’ve met us online but never in person\, no matter what level you are\, we really couldn’t wait to enjoy the ropes in the same space with you all! We’ve always been hoping to be committed to providing safe\, respectful\, equitable\, and enjoyable learning environments for queer or gender diverse students while supporting their development and interaction with their partner. So we are super excited to share these with you! \nIf you’ve taken a workshop in the past or an online class\, you’ve learned the basics and you are probably familiar with Kanna-ryu! Some of the content may overlap\, but this series would be instructive for upgrading your skills or polishing off your knowledge!! In-person workshop classes\, we’re offering skills development training workshops [*not professional teacher training workshop]\, with direct instruction such as checking\, correcting\, and suggesting to each person. \nOur education plan puts students focusing on lifelong learning (the long-term benefits for sustainable rope activities) first\, along with exploring a variety of approaches and methods or diverse possibilities\, while prioritizing developing step-by-step skills\, creativity\, knowledge\, and experience\, rather than pushing new patterns practice as many as possible. \nThe content and instruction of the class will be tailored on a case-by-case basis\, based on the level of the class\, the student’s progress and speed\, reflecting the student’s interests and demands\, and/or the partner’s fatigue\, as well as what is needed and what is good to know. In multi-level classes\, the class may have a division in the middle sometimes flexibly depending on the student’s choice: skill practice\, reteach or mini-lesson\, and play with partners. \nPlease don’t compare yourself to other students. There are no rankings\, no comparisons\, or competition between students or schools in Shibari and workshops. Shibari is available for every body of all ages\, genders\, and abilities. Differences that vary from person to person could be valued as individual characteristics\, and grow creativity with special needs. Our doing rope activities Shibari or Kinbaku is interpersonal communication even in group learning. Focus on yourself\, your partner\, your interests\, and your goals! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 25th & 26th\, 2021\, 10 am – 6 pm (lunch break included) \nFormat: hands-on workshop\n \nAudience: LGBTQIA+ & WOMÊN \nLanguage: Japanese\, English live translations by Kako \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you must be familiar with and able to solidly tie single & double column ties\, box tie\, and have knowledge of all common frictions \nWhat to Bring:  a full set of ropes (8-10 ropes)\, safety equipment\, a partner who consents to this kind of play\, solid negotiation skills\, a sadistic-mind to enjoy watching the partner’s suffering reaction or a masochistic mind that enjoys to suffer and be watched \nSolo or Partnered:  the ticket price is per PAIR \nPrice: 450€/pair \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nWomên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nIf you are not part of the LGBTQIA+ you are not eligible to purchase a ticket. \nIf you consider yourself a Friend\, you may put yourself on the waiting list for any leftover spaces. If you wish to do so\, please email us at info@karada-house.de with your rope name\, profile (FL\, insta etc.) if you have one and intention as to why you would like to participate. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \n  \nPayment Plans \nWe offer the possibility to pay in instalments for this weekend intensive. If you are interested in a payment plan\, please fill out this form. We will get back to you asap. \n  \nScholarship \nWe are offering one scholarship (100% reduction of the workshop fee) to one pair of rope practitioners. In order to be eligible\, both of you must be part of the LGBTQIA+ community. If you would like to apply for the scholarship\, please send an email to info@karada-house.de with your rope name\, profile (insta\, FL etc.) if you have one\, and your intention for participating in this workshop. We will consider all applications that arrive until August 10th\, 2021. \n  \nCovid-19 Safety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. All surfaces are disinfected and will be disinfected in between use. \nSpace is limited to give more space for everyone. \nWe frequently air the space and also use fans for more circulation. \nYou must wear a mask at all times. \nOur safety concept may vary depending on the official regulations at the time. We will update ticket holders on a regular basis. \n  \nWhat elso to know\n \nYou are asked not to switch during the workshop. \nNo video recordings are allowed. Photos are only allowed of your own work (with no other participants in the photo) and of Kanna’s work as reference. \nYou are not allowed to share any of these photos with other people or online. Same goes for any notes you take. \nAfter taking this workshop\, you are not allowed or entitled to teach the content you have been taught to others as an instructor. \nThere will also be a  weekend intensive on September 4-5\, 2021\, teaching the fundamentals of Kanna style.

Come as you like (no high heels\, though as it would mess up the floor\, sorry!) \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 12th\, 2021\, 5 – 9pm \nFormat: open space \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  all the things you need for yourself \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 5:00 pm and stays open until 7:00 pm (sharp). \nWe will greet you at the door and ask for some information\, your proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination. \nAt 5:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and would like to be guided a bit. \nYou can choose if you wish to hang out and chat with people\, play or if you wish to interact with us for questions\, guidance\, etc. \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. All surfaces are disinfected and will be disinfected in between use. \nSpace is limited to give more space for everyone. \nWe frequently air the space and also use fans for more circulation. \nYou must wear a mask at all times. \n  \nWho is this event for?

SUMMARY:Addie & Barkas: Floor Work Series
DESCRIPTION:  \nFloor work in rope bondage has become somewhat synonymous with terms like connection\, communication\, and eroticism. While these are certainly valid and enjoyable pursuits\, they are not the only options\, and questioning their meaning and application offers new ways of interacting with floor work as a concept. \nIn this two-part workshop\, Barkas and Addie deconstruct common terms and techniques associated with tying on the ground. This deconstruction does not mean the demolition of certain approaches to floor work\, but rather an expansion and investigation of possibilities. Floor work does not\, for example\, require participants to sit on the floor\, nor does it require proximity. \n  \nPart I: September 11th\, 2021\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nIn the first part\, we will introduce a few concepts as well as techniques and patterns useful for tying on the ground. The concept and implementation of spatial awareness will play a crucial role. \n  \nPart II: September 18th\, 2021 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nPart two then expands on the concept of spatial awareness. With the help of some sequences\, we will explore timing\, subtlety\, balance\, and creativity. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 11th & 18th\, 2021\, 7pm-10pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single and double column ties\, experience with floor work helpful but not necessary. \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be made available after the live class for 30 days \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Deconstructing Power in Kink Dynamics
DESCRIPTION:Power has different meanings depending on the context and perspective you are coming from. In kink and D/s dynamics power is often associated with the dominant side and the act of consensual taking of power over the submissive partner. \nThis is where things get messy for many people. How do we dare to take when taking and power are often convoluted and associated with unconsenusal power-grabbing and or overwhelm? How do we distinguish it from malign action and egocentrism? How do we deconstruct what is nourishing/empowering\, from what is not? Taking power has a poor track record and there is a great deal of discomfort in the act of taking. \nIn this workshop\, we are exploring this topic through an intentional kink framework that offers participants an opportunity to explore and take a journey into how you can bring parts of the deconstruction and reconstruction of power into your every day and kink life. \nIn this workshop\, Caritia aims to support you in deconstructing the narratives and stories you hold about power and to critically enquiry what intentional power play\, dominance and power exchange\, are for you with respect to playing and intimacy. \nThis workshop is for everyone who is struggling to step into a dominant role\, take power and enjoy the process. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 11th\, 2021\, 11.30 am – 7 pm \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  questions\, curiosity\, comfortable clothing\, towel\, toys \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n– what is power and how is it built? \n– intentional power spaces? \n– whose the boss? \n– care\, health and why they are important \n– what are your roles \n– what forms of power play are you looking to explore? Spectrums of power \n– Feedback and close \n* Note you may wish to join Kinky Kittens Salon (LGBTQIA+ Womên) \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination in order to be let inside. \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Kanna Style Weekend Intensive
DESCRIPTION:  \nFor Nawashi Kanna aesthetics and patterns are what comes after deeply connecting to your partner and giving them sweet consensual torment\, delicious suffering\, and sweet relief. In Kanna’s school of rope / Kanna-ryu every rope\, every placement\, every tension\, and action should have an intention that the person tying is controlling. \nIn this weekend intensive workshop\, you will learn the fundamental principles\, the patterns\, and the reasoning and intention behind Kanna’s style of tying. Kanna and Kagura will also suggest and show ways to play with the patterns and demonstrate their application within a session\, as well as show variations\, and explain the underlying theory and historical culture behind them. \n  \nIn Kanna & Kagura’s own words: \nWhether it’s the first time to meet you\, or it’s been a while\, or you’ve met us online but never in person\, no matter what level you are\, we really couldn’t wait to enjoy the ropes in the same space with you all! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 4th & 5th 2021\, 10 am – 6 pm (lunch break included) \nFormat: hands-on workshop\n \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, English live translations by Kako \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you must be familiar with and able to solidly tie single & double column ties\, box tie\, and have knowledge of all common frictions \nWhat to Bring:  a full set of ropes (8-10 ropes)\, safety equipment\, oval carabiner as suspension point IF you wish to tie like Kanna (otherwise we provide rings) \nSolo or Partnered:  the ticket price is per PAIR \nPrice: 450€/pair \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:See Nothing
DESCRIPTION:Having access to the full spectrum of our senses is a privilege and naming this is feels important in the context of this workshop offering. \nExploring our full sensory range is often best supported by removing/taking one sense away. Sensory deprivation play is a way to create intentional space for this\, what might that look like – using a blindfold or closing your eyes gives a whole new perspective on what or how you ‘see’ your personal worldview. Taking away your ability to speak or hear yields other effects. Let’s explore this together. \nIn this workshop\, Caritia aims to playfully encourage you to find out more about your sensorial palette\, slowing down\, taking away and returning each element with new insights (hopefully) for your body and mind. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  August 28th\, 2021\, 11am-2pm \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  questions\, curiosity\, blindfold\, earplugs\, noise-cancelling headphones\, gags\, scarves\, masks\, hoods or items that will restrict or obscure your sense of sight\, hearing or ability to speak. \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n–  sensory deprivation what is it? \n– the intersectionality of space holding \n– care\, safety and health – physical & emotional \n– what’s your role? \n– Feedback and close \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. SUMMARY:Below the Belt: C*ck & Ball Bondage
DESCRIPTION:As extreme as it may first sound\, the spectrum for sensation with tying the penis and testicles is very diverse! I like to call it cock and ball bondage (CBB) vs. cock and ball torture (CBT) because.. it doesn’t necessarily have to be torturous! \nFrom gentle teasing and light sensation play to more intense feelings with pressure or predicaments – I will show you a variety of pleasures (and consensual pain…) that cock bondage and CBT can provide for us and our partners\, or clients! \nUsually this class is a hands-on demo-based experience in person – though working online I will have to get a bit more creative! Since I don’t have a real penis available to demo on in person for you – I will be using props\, talking\, and showing some images and videos from past play sessions to give you inspiration and explain ideas – I will dedicate time to answer all questions as best as possible. \n\nDuring this class we will cover: \n• Basic anatomy and safer play practices\n• Different types of sensation play to create a fun scene around CBB/CBT\n• Getting creative: the different tools and materials we can use\n• Tie and tease: for pleasure\n• How to build up more intense sensations – and aftercare\n• Time for questions and sharing \nThis class is open to all experience levels – beginners most welcome. This class is welcome for people working together or feel free try it on yourself alone if you’d like to experiment – or just come and takes notes/ ask questions! It’s also possible to practice/work on a packer or dildo if you are alone but want to try some things – I can demonstrate this. \nThis will be an open and relaxed spaces to share and have fun. My experience\, knowledge and understanding of this topic is grounded in my practice and learning taken from years in the adult industry working as a Domme and doing these sorts of sessions and activities with clients. \n\nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  August 19\, 2020\, 7pm-9pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion / demonstration \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: There’s no pre-requisite of any kind. Please be in contact if you have any questions prior to the class \nThe materials and things I will be using/ talking about in the class which you may want to bring out if you have and want to follow along are:\n \n• 2-3 lengths of rope (though 1-2 is also ok)\n• A more thin rope\n• Chopsticks/knitting kneedles\n• Tights/stockings \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop.
