SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” II: 苦しみ Kurushimi (Suffering)
DESCRIPTION:“Seme” is much more than simply giving pain or creating predicaments as it is often translated and described to Western students of Shibari.\nIt is also not a style\, technique\, or excuse to hurt someone through roughness or carelessness. \nOn the contrary\, seme is applied deliberately\, carefully\, precisely\, sometimes boldly\, and always on purpose. Seme is about playing with limits and boundaries while never breaking them. In short\, Seme is a delicate and complex way of playing in ropes. \nIn this series\, Kanna & Kagura will deep dive into the general categories of Seme\, along with their concepts\, essential characteristics\, how to choose the suitable Shibari\, and how to play with all of these elements. \nThis series is not a set series about any particular Shibari patterns\, but rather allows students to practice with no matter what style/school of Kinbaku you like and choose.\nSo this will encourage you to pay closer attention to your desires and heart\, and make you dive more deeply into kink as a practice and pain as a sensation! \nThis Seme series will consist of 6 classes of 6 different Seme types in total: \nⅠ:痛みItami(Pain)\nⅡ:苦しみKurushimi(Suffering)\nⅢ:辱めHazukashime(Humiliation)\nⅣ:冷熱Reinetsu(Cold&Heat)\nⅤ: 快楽Kairaku(Pleasure)\nⅥ:恐れOsore(Fear) \n  \nThis event is for a single class. If you’d like to purchase the entire series for a reduced price\, please click here. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 15th\,  2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded. The recordings will be made available for 14 days after the last live session (ending on February 26th\, 2022). \n  \nWhat else to know \n  \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Suspension\, with chest harness lab
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis workshop will explore options for upper body harnesses\, understanding what elements are needed to make them safe for suspension\, and thinking about different options for different bodies. We will learn how to attach suspension lines and experiment with how the harnesses feel to each person when loaded in different ways. \nWe will learn how to lock suspension lines\, and the basics of suspension line management\, eventually with the option of building all of these elements into a full suspension if both partners feel comfortable doing so. \nPre-requisites\nThe tying partner must understand single column ties\, creating well-tensioned wraps\, and some basic frictions (such as an x-friction\, l-friction\, half hitch etc.). It is also asked that they are familiar with good rope handling techniques.\nBoth partners should have a basic understanding of nerves and circulation issues in rope bondage\, and if possible it is preferable that the partner being tied also has some familiarity with how their body feels when experiencing these issues. Both partners should be comfortable in their ability to communicate well with each other. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 15th\, 10am – 6pm (1 hour lunch break) & January 16th 10am-3pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: solid single/double column ties\, wrapping/counter tension\, and a solid understanding of basic frictions. \nWhat to Bring:  8-10 ropes\, towel\, or blanket (we can provide workshop ropes if you have none\, you can also buy ropes from us)\, carabiners\, snacks \nSolo or Partnered: partnered (ticket is per pair) \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Finding the same page: navigating mismatched sexualities
DESCRIPTION:Join this class with your partner to start processing your mismatched sexualities led by queer sex therapist Ceci. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” Series
DESCRIPTION:  \n“Seme” is much more than simply giving pain or creating predicaments as it is often translated and described to Western students of Shibari.\nIt is also not a style\, technique or excuse to hurt someone through roughness or carelessness. \nThis event is for the entire series. If you wish to purchase single classes\, please click on the class link. \n  \nThis Seme series will consist of 6 classes of 6 different Seme types in total: \n❤ Part I: 痛みItami(Pain) – January 8th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part II: 苦しみKurushimi(Suffering) – January 15th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part III: 辱めHazukashime(Humiliation) – January 22nd\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part IV: 冷熱Reinetsu(Cold&Heat) – January 29th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part V: 快楽Kairaku(Pleasure) – February 12th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part VI: 恐れOsore(Fear)  – February 19th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 8th\, 15th\, 22nd\, 29th & February 12th and 19th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded. SUMMARY:Ground & Orientate Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Who are you at this very moment? Where are you looking to go next on your journey of self? \nHow would it be for you to have time and space to consider these questions and receive\, inspiration and supportive reflections from others? There are many struggles in these present times\, let’s allow ourselves the time and space to reset\, recuperate and collaborate together. \nWithin this 2-day ritually held time\, Caritia offers participants loosely structured and co-created held space to be\, rather than to do. And hopes to offer playful exchanges between those who are gathered to soften\, to allow for what wishes to be brought up to have space to do so. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 8th 11 am – 6 pm\, 9th 11am – 5pm\, 2022 \nFormat: workshop & exploration space \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: Anything that would support your process and communication style \n \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations welcome (everybody needs to buy a ticket) Participants who join alone will be invited to pair with other solo participants.\n \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n– creating boundaries within your space \n– arrive and empty – exercises of release and letting go \n– utopia to stepping stones – diving into what you need \n– shared body-based practices \n– expressions of manifestation \n– silent space \n– Feedback and close \nAbout Caritia: lives in a queer\, gender-fluid\, BiPoC (perceived as feminine) body. Walks a path with invisible disabilities and the living challenges which accompany that life. Educator\, creative and ongoing work in process\, whose advocacy for establishing boundaries is as strong as the desire to love with truth and honesty. On a quiet mission to destigmatise difference and return power to each individual. Using the language of kink to the point of geeky excitement. \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of vaccination or proof that you are “genesen” (official proof of having had Covid-19 within the last 6 months) in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. SUMMARY:Suspension Ideas for Self-Tying
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop for people who have already started self-suspension and want new ideas to try. \nCeci will teach two self-suspensions that are true to their self-tying style: sustainable and juicy to stay in. \nThe first exercise explores the uses of futomomos in vertical\, head up suspensions. We will discuss what to take into consideration when constructing and using futomomos in this way. \nThe second exercise is a sequence that ends in a face-down suspension. \nCeci will show which patterns to use for the suspension sequence and give tips on how to make it more comfortable. \nThis workshop is in lecture format\, which means you have the chance to ask questions but there will not be time to complete the exercises during class. Ceci is available to answer specific questions also after the class on ceci.ferox@gmail.com or Instagram @ceciferox. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 30th\, 2021\, 7 pm – 9 pm \nFormat: lecture \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Requirement: basic knowledge about self-suspension \nWhat to Bring:  – \nRecording: This class is recorded and will be available for 14 days after the event \n  \nWho is this event for? SUMMARY:Solo Play Sunday: Self-Suspension Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Self-suspension is a very dynamic art form. You can create interesting shapes and sensations\, explore how moving inside the ropes affects your center of gravity\, your weight in the ropes\, and sense even small differences in your tying immediately. You can explore where ropes feel good or bad\, and where they feel bad in a good way. You find which parts of your body are strong\, and you can put trust in the parts that feel weak to teach your body that you are capable and enough. \nIn this workshop\, we will work both close to the floor and standing up. We will create one M-shaped suspension while standing up. Close to the floor\, we will explore movement and different positions. \nNote: There will be a  solo play jam after this event (50% off in the cart\, if you purchase the jam with this event). \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 19th\, 2021\, 11 am -3 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: solid understanding of the single column tie\, basic rope handling skills\, basic experience with suspension line management. \nWhat to Bring:  ropes\, safety equipment\, carabiners and anything else you need \nSolo or Partnered: solo\, obviously  \n  \nWhat Ceci will teach \n– Self-suspension safety \n– Suspension line basics for self-suspension \n–  Ceci’s chest harness for vertical self-suspension \n–  M-shaped suspension \n– Creativity and improvisation \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of vaccination or proof that you are “genesen” (official proof of having had Covid-19 within the last 6 months) in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. SUMMARY:Rope Jam
DESCRIPTION:  \nIT’S ROPE JAM TIME! \nRope Jams are spaces to meet people who love to tie or be tied (or both) and/or bring your tying partner(s) to have a wonderful session together in a space with like-minded people. \nAll roles\, levels\, styles\, etc. are welcome. \nIn the last hour of the jam\, we will also offer a gong bath session. \n  \nHow it works \nThe door opens at 7:00 pm and stays open until 9:30 pm (sharp). \nWe will greet you at the door and ask for some information\, your proof of testing (not older than 24 hours)\, or proof of vaccination. \nSpaces are limited. If the limit is reached\, you can come back later and see if there is space (until door closes at 9:30pm). \nAt 7:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and/or new to the jam (format). \nYou can then choose your space to tie (we offer bamboo\, ring\, and spaces for floorwork). The spaces have yoga mats and cushions. \nIn the last hour\, we lower the lights and offer a gong bath for a slower\, more intimate session end. \n  \nWhat to bring \nAll ropes\, gear\, safety cutter\, carabiners\, etc you need. \nWe have rings and bamboo but you can also bring your own. \nPlease bring a blanket or towel to put on the yoga mats we provide. \n  \nWhat else to know \nThis rope jam is aimed at LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS audiences. \nThis space is a no-photography space. \nThis is not a teaching space. \nThis space is a sober space. Please do not bring any substances to the spaces. \nNudity is welcome. \nWe provide water\, tea\, etc. We cannot currently offer snacks. \nBathrooms and shower are available. \nThe space is accessible. \nGot no rope? Feel free to purchase some upfront and pick them up at the jam (min. 48 hours upfront if you wish to order more than 2 ropes). \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of vaccination or proof that you are “genesen” (official proof of having had Covid-19 within the last 6 months) in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. All surfaces are disinfected and will be disinfected in between use. \nSpace is limited to give more space for everyone. \nWe frequently air the space and also use fans for more circulation. \nWe partially partition off spaces for tying for more safety/intimacy. \nYou must wear a mask at all times\, with the exception of you sitting in a dedicated tying spot with a partner/partners of your own household. \n  \nFAQs: \nFirst time? No problem. \nPlease join us right at 7:30 pm for an introduction to the space\, the jam itself\, and some advice as to how to navigate a jam and how to engage with people. \nIntroverted? No problem. \nJust send us a message beforehand and we will help you navigate the evening and find like-minded people to engage with. \nNo ropes? No problem. \nWe have some workshop ropes for floor work that you can borrow. We also sell ropes at Karada House. \nTotal newbie? No problem. \nCome\, join the crowd and have a drink. Get to know people and watch others tie and play. \nComing alone? No problem. \nWe always introduce people to each other at the introduction round at 7:30 pm\, so join us then to meet other people.

SUMMARY:Creating Intentional Space(s)
DESCRIPTION:Sharing space is something that can be fun\, challenging\, complex and messy\, no matter the dynamics. \nTo create a space for yourself as a solo individual is different from an event offered in a public setting involving 20 or 1000 people\, for example\, a play party or club night (or any other space). Are there cross over or universal aspects that can support you\, your play partners and groups who desire to create space together? And what are the parts that are unique to your personal experience(s) that need to be considered to allow for you to be in a playful/intimate/open state? \nIn this discussion\, lab & shared collaborative setting\, Caritia aims to offer an inward to outward approach for creating space that offers nuance for expansion\, creativity and support when walking into the unknown. As well as keys to communicating and practical ways to resolve challenges in & away from charged situations. This 3-hour workshop is a toe-dip into a complex subject\, attendees will be encouraged to do their own ongoing research. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 14th\, 2021\, 7-9.30 pm \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  Pen\, paper\, questions and an open mind to discovery \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations welcome (the ticket price is per person)\n \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n• meditation\n• communication styles\n• boundaries\, negotiation and care\n• what is intention? how does it relate to space or the creation of them?\n• who do you wish to be in an intentional space? Character creation & persona exploration\n• objects and items – what they can represent in space and support creativity\n• utopias of play\n• feedback and questions \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded. \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:The Promise of Identity
DESCRIPTION:The landscape of different sexual identities is vast and more and more white spots on the maps are discovered\, created\, and surveyed. \nAlthough it became easier to travel between different areas on that globe\, one operation remains unthinkable: Not to identify with a certain sexuality seems as rare and problematic as being nationless. \nIn a sense\, entering an area of a specific sexual identity demands from us the enunciation of a promise. To identify\, after all\, can be seen as an orientation in a certain direction or to submit to certain rules of that identity. \nIs there a way to identify without a promise? How would that look like and ‘where’ would that be? \nThis is not necessarily a workshop but an exploration. After establishing a toolkit of the identity surveyor\, we will go together on a journey to find out if there can be a land that does not require a promise of entrance. In other words\, we will draw a map of sexual identities. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time: December 12th\, 7-9 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: exploratory workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to bring: – \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be available for 14 days after the live workshop \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices.
