SUMMARY:Kink & Race
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur BDSM scenes and subcultures are embedded in our society and societal norms\, in what we know\, in what we want to transform. Kinky people do not exist in a bubble in which power relationships no longer matter just because we negotiate certain dynamics in our play relationships or are “nice” to each other at play parties. \nIn other words: We bring ourselves with us\, all our experiences and assumptions when we participate in BDSM. We are not automatically of integrity or really empathetic because we like “cool”\, deviating sex techniques or because the label “queer” fits us. \nThis workshop is for folks of the global majority and those who identify within the BPoC spectrum and is about creating an atmosphere of exchange that is as free as possible of (self) accusations and harshness. It’s about gently approaching a violent issue\, the racist system\, in which we are deeply entangled and in which we participate every day. In order to regain our individual\, as well as collective dignity\, and to establish new forms of engaging with the world and systems that we inhabit. Let’s not allow ourselves to be caught up in the performative acts and actions\, as well as acknowledge that we as BPoC folks can not change everything. Acknowledging that “Faster\, higher\, further\, performance\, immediately” is counterproductive. Let’s face ambivalences. Pausing to allow complexity to arrive in our body. Polarity is not our true reality. \nOften shame stands in the way. Shame paralyzes\, triggers the impulse to flee\, wants to hide. That is why in our workshop we will devote ourselves to shame\, taking time for it\, in the hope not only of appreciating it but also of being able to leave it behind us again and again. In the hope of being able to be a little more part of the change that is so urgently needed.\nIn addition to simple body and breathing exercises and meditation that can take place lying down\, sitting\, or standing\, we approach the topic of shame through telling stories\, exchanging ideas in small groups\, and role play. The focus is on how perceiving our own bodies\, and furthermore our nervous system and in this way making new experiences that\, in the best case\, helping to overcome shame and to get out of the rigidity into motion. \nThis workshop is open to the full spectrum of BPoC & PoC folks who are seeking intentional space to share\, relate and express on the topic of shame and the challenges faced by the systems that oppress those whom the system was not built for and as it relates to BDSM and kink in your life. \nOn the same weekend\, there will be a workshop by Emma Steel for *white people\, which is also dedicated to the topic of racism and shame. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 30th\, 2022\, 12pm-6pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên\, BPoC & PoC\, only \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, curiosity\, comfortable clothes\, snack food\, blanket \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nNote: No one will be turned away for lack of funds\, write to us with your offers and contributions. \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:BDSM\, Being White\, Shame
DESCRIPTION:The times are urgent\, let us slow down. (Bayo Akomolafe\, The Emergence Network) \nAs white kinky and queer people we need to acknowledge how the ideas of separation and violence run through us. We need to realise that racism and white supremacy “is like the air we breathe” (Alicia Garza). And as we are arriving into this understanding\, we need also to find ways from there to become active in the process of ending white dominant and racist behaviour –  in us\, in our friendships and connections\, in our environments. \nOur BDSM scenes and subcultures are embedded in our society\, in what we know\, in what we want to transform. Kinky people do not exist in a bubble in which power relationships no longer matter just because we negotiate certain dynamics in our play relationships or are “nice” to each other at play parties. \nIn other words: We bring ourselves with us\, all our experiences and assumptions when we do BDSM. We are not automatically of integrity or really empathetic just because we like “cool”\, deviating sex techniques or because the label “queer” fits us. \nThis workshop for white* people is about creating an atmosphere of exchange that is as free as possible of (self) accusations and harshness. It’s about gently approaching a violent issue\, the racist system\, in which we are deeply entangled and in which we participate every day. In order to regain a piece of dignity as white* people\, which we lose when we participate\, the ability to act\, to become active\, is necessary. Being active can also mean being able to endure the fact that we cannot change everything. “Faster\, higher\, further\, performance\, immediately” is counterproductive. Let‘s face ambivalences. Pause to let complexity arrive in the body. End white silence\, and not in a rush. The polarity of doing and not doing.\nAnd ask from there\, how we can take steps on the way to liberation\, on the way to ending our white complicity and dominance. \nOften shame stands in the way. Shame paralyzes\, triggers the impulse to flee\, wants to hide. That is why in our workshop we will devote ourselves to shame\, taking time for it\, in the hope not only of appreciating it but also of being able to leave it behind us again and again. In the hope of being able to be a little more part of the change that is so urgently needed. \nIn addition to simple body and breathing exercises and meditation that can take place lying down\, sitting\, or standing\, we approach the topic of white shame through telling stories\, exchanging ideas in small groups\, and role play. The focus is on perceiving our own bodies\, the nervous system\, and in this way making new experiences that\, in the best case\, help to overcome shame and to get out of the rigidity into motion. \nThis workshop is open to all white people who have already recognized for themselves that they are on the profit side of the racist system\, who have already dealt with their whiteness\, and who are interested in listening to each other instead of knowing better and learning together instead of punishing. \nOn the same weekend\, there will be a workshop by Caritia for BPOC people\, which is also dedicated to the topic of racism and shame. \nThe ticket fee for the “BDSM\, Being White\, Shame” workshop is relatively high because it finances the very low participation fee for the other workshop. This redistribution is intentional. We are aware that white people can also be affected by the unjust distribution of resources\, by poverty. We\, therefore\, ask those who can to pay the maximum rate\, so that everyone who wants can take part in both workshops. \nThe workshop will be held in German and English and will be translated. It makes things go slower\, and that helps. \nIf you are not sure which workshop is the right one for you (e.g. because you pass as white and you experience racism\, please contact us!) \nEmma Steel is interested in communication experiments that break convention\, in humour and in how we can get closer to our own inner beasts while remaining professional or authentic. In her workshops\, it is important to her that making mistakes and asking questions is always welcome.\nShe has been working as a dominatrix since 2006 and as a coach and therapist since 2013.\nSince 2004 she has taken part in quite a few anti-racism and anti-bias training. Emma sees herself as a learner\, a seeker and as someone who makes mistakes and takes responsibility. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 29th\, 2022\, 12pm-6pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, curiosity\, comfortable clothes\, snack food\, blanket \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” IV: 冷熱 Reinetsu (Cold&Heat)
DESCRIPTION:“Seme” is much more than simply giving pain or creating predicaments as it is often translated and described to Western students of Shibari.\nIt is also not a style\, technique\, or excuse to hurt someone through roughness or carelessness. \nOn the contrary\, seme is applied deliberately\, carefully\, precisely\, sometimes boldly\, and always on purpose. Seme is about playing with limits and boundaries while never breaking them. In short\, Seme is a delicate and complex way of playing in ropes. \nIn this series\, Kanna & Kagura will deep dive into the general categories of Seme\, along with their concepts\, essential characteristics\, how to choose the suitable Shibari\, and how to play with all of these elements. \nThis series is not a set series about any particular Shibari patterns\, but rather allows students to practice with no matter what style/school of Kinbaku you like and choose.\nSo this will encourage you to pay closer attention to your desires and heart\, and make you dive more deeply into kink as a practice and pain as a sensation! \nThis Seme series will consist of 6 classes of 6 different Seme types in total: \nⅠ:痛みItami(Pain)\nⅡ:苦しみKurushimi(Suffering)\nⅢ:辱めHazukashime(Humiliation)\nⅣ:冷熱Reinetsu(Cold&Heat)\nⅤ: 快楽Kairaku(Pleasure)\nⅥ:恐れOsore(Fear) \n  \nThis event is for a single class. If you’d like to purchase the entire series for a reduced price\, please click here. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 29th\,  2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded. The recordings will be made available for 14 days after the last live session (ending on February 26th\, 2022). \n  \nWhat else to know \n  \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. Being there is enough! \n  \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nCost: 5-15 Euros sliding scale at the door \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: all levels welcome \nWhat to Bring:  yourself\, optionally ropes  (we can also lend you ropes) \nSolo or Partnered:  both works\, this is peer-learning so partners are not necessary \n  \nSchedule: \n6.45 pm-7:05 pm: doors open (to ensure a safer space\, we ask you to be on time so everyone can see who is present at the starting circle)\n7:15 pm: starting circle\n7.30 pm – 10:00 pm: peer learning and social hangout\, space is chatty and there is no music \n  \nFormat: \nYour role as the participant is to share your knowledge and to get inspired by other people. You ask for help from other participants and help others whenever needed\, especially in risky or emergency situations. There is at least one facilitator present for the entirety of the hangout. The role of the facilitator is to offer the space and be the contact person in case of safety concerns. The facilitator is a participant\, not a teacher. SUMMARY:Rope Basics: Psychology of the Body in Rope
DESCRIPTION:Different positions of the tied body are not just visual or practical. \nOur posture\, position\, and relation to each other directly affect how we feel and what the dynamics of our play become. \nIn this workshop\, Ceci Ferox will help you build more mindful play sessions. You learn how to position bodies intentionally. \n  \nImportant Note: Please arrive 15 minutes earlier as it takes time to process your vaccination results etc. at the door. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” III: 辱め Hazukashime (Humiliation)
Feel free to purchase some upfront and pick them up at the jam (min. 48 hours upfront if you wish to order more than 2 ropes). \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nFAQs: \nFirst time? No problem. \nPlease join us right at 7:30 pm for an introduction to the space\, the jam itself\, and some advice as to how to navigate a jam and how to engage with people. \nIntroverted? No problem. \nJust send us a message beforehand and we will help you navigate the evening and find like-minded people to engage with. \nNo ropes? No problem. \nWe have some workshop ropes for floor work that you can borrow. We also sell ropes at Karada House. \nTotal newbie? No problem. \nCome\, join the crowd and have a drink. Get to know people and watch others tie and play. \nComing alone? No problem. \nWe always introduce people to each other at the introduction round at 7:30 pm\, so join us then to meet other people.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Suspension\, with chest harness lab
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis workshop will explore options for upper body harnesses\, understanding what elements are needed to make them safe for suspension\, and thinking about different options for different bodies. We will learn how to attach suspension lines and experiment with how the harnesses feel to each person when loaded in different ways. \nWe will learn how to lock suspension lines\, and the basics of suspension line management\, eventually with the option of building all of these elements into a full suspension if both partners feel comfortable doing so. \nPre-requisites\nThe tying partner must understand single column ties\, creating well-tensioned wraps\, and some basic frictions (such as an x-friction\, l-friction\, half hitch etc.). It is also asked that they are familiar with good rope handling techniques.\nBoth partners should have a basic understanding of nerves and circulation issues in rope bondage\, and if possible it is preferable that the partner being tied also has some familiarity with how their body feels when experiencing these issues. Both partners should be comfortable in their ability to communicate well with each other. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 15th\, 10am – 6pm (1 hour lunch break) & January 16th 10am-3pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: solid single/double column ties\, wrapping/counter tension\, and a solid understanding of basic frictions. \nWhat to Bring:  8-10 ropes\, towel\, or blanket (we can provide workshop ropes if you have none\, you can also buy ropes from us)\, carabiners\, snacks \nSolo or Partnered: partnered (ticket is per pair) \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

SUMMARY:Finding the same page: navigating mismatched sexualities
DESCRIPTION:Join this class with your partner to start processing your mismatched sexualities led by queer sex therapist Ceci. You will get useful information on sexuality and sexual reactions as well as time and space for finding the same page – or even understand which books you are in. This means the workshop consists of both lecture content and exercises with your partner. \nWe will discuss needs and desires\, what stands in way of intimacy and what makes it possible. You will have a safer and calmer environment for important conversations\, removed from everyday life. You will also have the chance for peer support from other pairs or polycules (to the extent that you feel comfortable sharing). \nThis workshop is meant for queer pairs and polycules that have sexual relationships (with or without romance). Prepare for the workshop by discussing what you are prepared to share openly with the other participants and what you want to keep between yourself. Bring paper and pens\, a snack and whatever you need to feel comfortable. \n  \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 12th\, 2021\, 7 – 10pm \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  pen and paper \nSolo or Partnered:  queer pairs & polyclues (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– Information on sexuality and sexual reactions \n–  Conversation exercises \n– Sharing thoughts with the group (with boundaries) \n– Feedback and close \n  \nSafety Concept \n2G + masks \nYou need to bring proof of vaccination or proof that you are “genesen” (official proof of having had Covid-19 within the last 6 months) in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” Series
DESCRIPTION:  \n“Seme” is much more than simply giving pain or creating predicaments as it is often translated and described to Western students of Shibari.\nIt is also not a style\, technique or excuse to hurt someone through roughness or carelessness. \nThis event is for the entire series. If you wish to purchase single classes\, please click on the class link. \n  \nThis Seme series will consist of 6 classes of 6 different Seme types in total: \n❤ Part I: 痛みItami(Pain) – January 8th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part II: 苦しみKurushimi(Suffering) – January 15th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part III: 辱めHazukashime(Humiliation) – January 22nd\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part IV: 冷熱Reinetsu(Cold&Heat) – January 29th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part V: 快楽Kairaku(Pleasure) – February 12th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n❤ Part VI: 恐れOsore(Fear)  – February 19th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 8th\, 15th\, 22nd\, 29th & February 12th and 19th\, 2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded.
