SUMMARY:QUEEROPE 2022 Full Conference Ticket
DESCRIPTION:  \nQUEEROPE 2022 is a 5-day virtual conference for mostly shibari/kinbaku/Japanese-inspired bondage that is exclusively for LGBTQIA+ people and womên. \nWe welcome all roles (rigger/tops\, model/bottoms\, switches\, etc.)\, all knowledge levels (beginner\, intermediate\, advanced)\, and all styles to this gathering that aims to bring queer & female-identifying practitioners together to celebrate their love for rope and exchange knowledge and experiences. \n  \nline-up: \n– Addie Tahl & Sloane (Canada) \n– Almond Linden (Canada) \n– Barkas (Canada) \n– Caritia (UK/Germany) \n– Ceci Ferox (Finland) \n– Gandalf (China) \n– Gestalta (UK) \n– Kanna & Kagura (Japan) \n– Lee Harrington (USA) \n– Pauline Massimo  (Brazil/Spain) \n– Roser (Venezuela/Spain) \n– Soguita (Argentina) \n– Sophia Rose (UK) \n– Subay (Hong Kong) \n– Tapiwa (South Africa) \n– True Blue (USA) \n– Movie (USA) \n– Yada Kinbaku (Thailand) \nGet more info on the facilitators here \n  \nDetails: \n– 5 days of virtual workshops\, performances\, demonstrations\, discussions\, etc. \n– 1 warm-up session and 4 x 2-hour slots per day \n– language: English \n– conference aims to be held from 12pm Berlin (3 am San Francisco / 6 am New York / 8 pm Tokyo / 10 pm Melbourne) to  10.30pm Berlin ( 1.30pm San Francisco / 4.30pm New York / 5.30am Tokyo /8.30am Melbourne) time \n– all classes except for the class of Subay will be recorded and will be available for 30 days after the conference for all attendees to watch/re-watch \n  \nCosts: \nConference tickets are valid for one person for the entire conference and include access to the recordings of all classes for 30 days after the event. We have different kinds of conference tickets: \n  \nFull Pass \nRegular ticket: 150 Euros \nSupporter ticket: 200 Euros (The 50 Euros added onto your ticket will subsidize our solidarity tickets with 50 Euros. For each sold supporter ticket we will add a solidarity ticket to the pot). \nSolidarity ticket: 100 Euros \nPay-it-Forward-Ticket: 150 Euros – You pay this ticket forward and a person that cannot afford a ticket will benefit from it and get access to the conference and the recordings on your behalf. —–> You can purchase a pay-it-forward ticket here. <—- \n  \nDay Pass \nGet a ticket for a single day of the conference for 50 Euros. \nGet your day-pass here: Wednesday\, Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday\, Sunday \n  \nFAQ: \nHow do you define “LGBTQIA+” & “womên”? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nWomên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nI am not LGBTQIA+ and not a womên\, can I still attend? \nNo\, please respect that this particular event is not for you. There are lots of other events you can attend. But Queerope one is solely for people of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum & womên. \nI cannot afford the ticket but would love to join. What do I do? \nSend us a message via info@karada-house.de. If we have pay-it-forward tickets available we will make them available to you. If we don’t we will put you on a waiting list or see what else we can do. Either way\, we will find a way. \nWhat platform do you use for the virtual conference? \nWe need to use Zoom as it is the only platform available that is affordable and stable enough for bigger groups. Please make sure you can fulfill the requirements for Zoom from your side to have a satisfactory experience.  We will do our best to make the zoom calls safe by engaging all possible security features. You do not have to turn your camera on and you can use any name you like. \nThe times don’t always work for me / I cannot attend everything I want… \nThat is why we will make recordings available to you\, so you can watch & re-watch them within 30 days. \nIf I share my computer with a person\, is buying one ticket enough? \nNo. You are not paying for the computer access but for the knowledge that the facilitators and artists are distributing. Please respect that knowledge has a worth and should be compensated. \nI am all alone at the moment and have no partner. Does it still make sense to participate? \nAbsolutely. There will be a variety of topics and skills and not all of them require a partner. You can learn a lot even just by listening and watching or trying things on yourself. We will also provide knowledge and possibilities for self-tying & suspension and other solo practices.

SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” VI: 恐れ Osore (Fear)
DESCRIPTION:“Seme” is much more than simply giving pain or creating predicaments as it is often translated and described to Western students of Shibari.\nIt is also not a style\, technique\, or excuse to hurt someone through roughness or carelessness. \nOn the contrary\, seme is applied deliberately\, carefully\, precisely\, sometimes boldly\, and always on purpose. Seme is about playing with limits and boundaries while never breaking them. In short\, Seme is a delicate and complex way of playing in ropes. \nIn this series\, Kanna & Kagura will deep dive into the general categories of Seme\, along with their concepts\, essential characteristics\, how to choose the suitable Shibari\, and how to play with all of these elements. \nThis series is not a set series about any particular Shibari patterns\, but rather allows students to practice with no matter what style/school of Kinbaku you like and choose.\nSo this will encourage you to pay closer attention to your desires and heart\, and make you dive more deeply into kink as a practice and pain as a sensation! \nThis Seme series will consist of 6 classes of 6 different Seme types in total: \nⅠ:痛みItami(Pain)\nⅡ:苦しみKurushimi(Suffering)\nⅢ:辱めHazukashime(Humiliation)\nⅣ:冷熱Reinetsu(Cold&Heat)\nⅤ: 快楽Kairaku(Pleasure)\nⅥ:恐れOsore(Fear) \n  \nThis event is for a single class. If you’d like to purchase the entire series for a reduced price\, please click here. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 19th\,  2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded. The recordings will be made available for 14 days after the last live session (ending on February 26th\, 2022). \n  \nWhat else to know \n  \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de. \n  \n

SUMMARY:The FAT Lab & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Are you tired of feeling like your body doesn’t fit the narrow imagery of bondage? So are we. This is a rope jam for people who dress in sizes 44 and up. \nBecause we want a space that celebrates the fact that not only can all of us tie and be tied\, but we look gorgeous doing it. And because we want a space where we can help each other and share knowledge specifically about tying fat bodies. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” V: 快楽 Kairaku (Pleasure)
\n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 12th\,  2022 1 pm – 3 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded. SUMMARY:Kink and Trauma Part II
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is open for anyone who has already done the first part of Kink & Trauma with Emma Steel. \n  \nOne of the basic ideas of somatic healing is that trapped energy connected to traumatic events is “locked” in our bodies and can get released. \nIn order to invite the nervous system to do that “automatically and by itself” we practice in delicate and small steps. How can we combine this magic with kink and play? \nDuring part 1 of the workshop\, we discussed planning and aftercare of sessions that invite transformation. We tried somatic practices and breathing techniques. We talked about risk and being brave. With that experienced knowledge\, we will this time set up play scenes that take into account what we have already established together. We will negotiate and enact scenarios that have healing and transformative intent. We will dare to step in. \nFor example\, we could have a bondage scene that is about feeling held and safely connected to an event in the past that was chaotic and dangerous. Or\, we can do role play around a situation that was about degradation in the past and is now about dignity and feeling connected. Or\, we can hurt someone until tension is released\, crying or screaming „stop“ is possible. \nThe potential is endless. Our time together is not. \nWe will however take enough time to settle in the new group and create enough trust so that an atmosphere of playfulness and curiosity can arise. \nThat is why we will start with breathing and awareness exercises and with discussions in small groups. In the afternoon we will play! \nBoth players and witnesses are warmly invited – you get to decide about your role on the day of! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 12th\,  2022\, 11am-6pm \nFormat: in-house workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English / German translation \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Intermediate\, advanced \nWhat to Bring:  Bring an object that soothes you or calms you down\, like a blanket or cuddly toy or a stone\n \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations welcome (Limited to 10 participants) \n  \nWhat we will teach/do \n• nervous system regulation exercises \n• breath techniques \n• practical role play and group work \n• feedback & questions \n• close \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Below the Belt: C*ck & Ball Bondage
DESCRIPTION:As extreme as it may first sound\, the spectrum for sensation with tying the penis and testicles is very diverse! I like to call it cock and ball bondage (CBB) vs. cock and ball torture (CBT) because.. it doesn’t necessarily have to be torturous! \nFrom gentle teasing and light sensation play to more intense feelings with pressure or predicaments – I will show you a variety of pleasures (and consensual pain…) that cock bondage and CBT can provide for us and our partners\, or clients! \nUsually this class is a hands-on demo-based experience in person – though working online I will have to get a bit more creative! Since I don’t have a real penis available to demo on in person for you – I will be using props\, talking\, and showing some images and videos from past play sessions to give you inspiration and explain ideas – I will dedicate time to answer all questions as best as possible. \n\nDuring this class we will cover: \n• Basic anatomy and safer play practices\n• Different types of sensation play to create a fun scene around CBB/CBT\n• Getting creative: the different tools and materials we can use\n• Tie and tease: for pleasure\n• How to build up more intense sensations – and aftercare\n• Time for questions and sharing \nThis class is open to all experience levels – beginners most welcome. This class is welcome for people working together or feel free try it on yourself alone if you’d like to experiment – or just come and takes notes/ ask questions! It’s also possible to practice/work on a packer or dildo if you are alone but want to try some things – I can demonstrate this. \nThis will be an open and relaxed spaces to share and have fun. SUMMARY:Kink and Neurodivergence
DESCRIPTION:Our intimate connections can be a mixture of complex\, delightful messiness that each one can find a challenging prospect to walk through. Add to that the multiplicity of how each individual processes through your senses\, minds and emotions\, the potential for misunderstanding is vast. When intimacy\, touch and desire are added to that already heady mix is it any wonder that things become confusing. \nWhy is it vital to speak and share ideas about neurodivergence/ neurominority people within the context of kink and intimacy in general? How can more supportive paths be found to support the curiosity of intimacy and connection? \nIn this open discussion and lab\, Caritia aims to open up a personal and collective conversation about the topics of kink and neurodivergence\, inviting participants to actively dialogue and share their experiences around this complex topic. And in doing so explore ways in which the nuance and messiness can be brought to bear as part of a utopia of sharing space with each other. \nNote: This is an alive and ongoing process of learning\, it is not intended to be a ‘fits in a box’ idea or concept. \nWho is this for: \nThis workshop has been derived for a variety of folx: New folx to kink. Walks a path with invisible disabilities and the living challenges which accompany that life. Educator\, creative and ongoing work in process\, whose advocacy for establishing boundaries is as strong as the desire to love with truth and honesty. On a quiet mission to destigmatise difference and return power to each individual. SUMMARY:Find your Rope Partner(s)
DESCRIPTION:You are interested in rope but you are lacking a partner/partners? \nThe pandemic has made it really hard to find people in general\, let alone for a common interest like rope bondage. Before Karada House closes its doors\, we wish to help you find like-minded people to bond with and become your rope partner or event rope group so you are not alone and can practice with others. \nFind your Rope Partner is an event similar to speed dating events that allow you to get to know a number of people and chat with them about rope\, life\, love\, and all other relevant things. Once you are done chatting\, you can indicate if you are interested in getting to know this person further. If both of you indicate interest\, you “match” and we will make sure to give each of you the contact information of the other so you can meet and see if things click rope and otherwise. \nAfter the matching event\, there will a rope jam (our last one in this location). You can stick around and talk some more to your favorite people\, even try tying with some or just indulge in watching others tie. We also have really good tea and a damn comfy sofa. \nNote: The matching event is free but you must apply. The rope jam is 5-15 Euros sliding scale. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  Febuary 5th\, 2022\, 5pm-6.30pm \nFormat: speed matching event \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nHow to apply: Please fill out this form by February 1st\, 2022. \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender.

SUMMARY:Kink & Race
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur BDSM scenes and subcultures are embedded in our society and societal norms\, in what we know\, in what we want to transform. Kinky people do not exist in a bubble in which power relationships no longer matter just because we negotiate certain dynamics in our play relationships or are “nice” to each other at play parties. \nIn other words: We bring ourselves with us\, all our experiences and assumptions when we participate in BDSM. We are not automatically of integrity or really empathetic because we like “cool”\, deviating sex techniques or because the label “queer” fits us. \nThis workshop is for folks of the global majority and those who identify within the BPoC spectrum and is about creating an atmosphere of exchange that is as free as possible of (self) accusations and harshness. It’s about gently approaching a violent issue\, the racist system\, in which we are deeply entangled and in which we participate every day. In order to regain our individual\, as well as collective dignity\, and to establish new forms of engaging with the world and systems that we inhabit. Let’s not allow ourselves to be caught up in the performative acts and actions\, as well as acknowledge that we as BPoC folks can not change everything. Acknowledging that “Faster\, higher\, further\, performance\, immediately” is counterproductive. Let’s face ambivalences. Pausing to allow complexity to arrive in our body. Polarity is not our true reality. \nOften shame stands in the way. Shame paralyzes\, triggers the impulse to flee\, wants to hide. That is why in our workshop we will devote ourselves to shame\, taking time for it\, in the hope not only of appreciating it but also of being able to leave it behind us again and again. In the hope of being able to be a little more part of the change that is so urgently needed.\nIn addition to simple body and breathing exercises and meditation that can take place lying down\, sitting\, or standing\, we approach the topic of shame through telling stories\, exchanging ideas in small groups\, and role play. The focus is on how perceiving our own bodies\, and furthermore our nervous system and in this way making new experiences that\, in the best case\, helping to overcome shame and to get out of the rigidity into motion. \nThis workshop is open to the full spectrum of BPoC & PoC folks who are seeking intentional space to share\, relate and express on the topic of shame and the challenges faced by the systems that oppress those whom the system was not built for and as it relates to BDSM and kink in your life. \nOn the same weekend\, there will be a workshop by Emma Steel for *white people\, which is also dedicated to the topic of racism and shame. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 30th\, 2022\, 12pm-6pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên\, BPoC & PoC\, only \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, curiosity\, comfortable clothes\, snack food\, blanket \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nNote: No one will be turned away for lack of funds\, write to us with your offers and contributions. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

SUMMARY:BDSM\, Being White\, Shame
DESCRIPTION:The times are urgent\, let us slow down. (Bayo Akomolafe\, The Emergence Network) \nAs white kinky and queer people we need to acknowledge how the ideas of separation and violence run through us. We need to realise that racism and white supremacy “is like the air we breathe” (Alicia Garza). And as we are arriving into this understanding\, we need also to find ways from there to become active in the process of ending white dominant and racist behaviour –  in us\, in our friendships and connections\, in our environments. \nOur BDSM scenes and subcultures are embedded in our society\, in what we know\, in what we want to transform. Kinky people do not exist in a bubble in which power relationships no longer matter just because we negotiate certain dynamics in our play relationships or are “nice” to each other at play parties. \nIn other words: We bring ourselves with us\, all our experiences and assumptions when we do BDSM. We are not automatically of integrity or really empathetic just because we like “cool”\, deviating sex techniques or because the label “queer” fits us. \nThis workshop for white* people is about creating an atmosphere of exchange that is as free as possible of (self) accusations and harshness. It’s about gently approaching a violent issue\, the racist system\, in which we are deeply entangled and in which we participate every day. In order to regain a piece of dignity as white* people\, which we lose when we participate\, the ability to act\, to become active\, is necessary. Being active can also mean being able to endure the fact that we cannot change everything. “Faster\, higher\, further\, performance\, immediately” is counterproductive. Let‘s face ambivalences. Pause to let complexity arrive in the body. End white silence\, and not in a rush. The polarity of doing and not doing.\nAnd ask from there\, how we can take steps on the way to liberation\, on the way to ending our white complicity and dominance. \nOften shame stands in the way. Shame paralyzes\, triggers the impulse to flee\, wants to hide. That is why in our workshop we will devote ourselves to shame\, taking time for it\, in the hope not only of appreciating it but also of being able to leave it behind us again and again. In the hope of being able to be a little more part of the change that is so urgently needed. \nIn addition to simple body and breathing exercises and meditation that can take place lying down\, sitting\, or standing\, we approach the topic of white shame through telling stories\, exchanging ideas in small groups\, and role play. The focus is on perceiving our own bodies\, the nervous system\, and in this way making new experiences that\, in the best case\, help to overcome shame and to get out of the rigidity into motion. \nThis workshop is open to all white people who have already recognized for themselves that they are on the profit side of the racist system\, who have already dealt with their whiteness\, and who are interested in listening to each other instead of knowing better and learning together instead of punishing. \nOn the same weekend\, there will be a workshop by Caritia for BPOC people\, which is also dedicated to the topic of racism and shame. \nThe ticket fee for the “BDSM\, Being White\, Shame” workshop is relatively high because it finances the very low participation fee for the other workshop. This redistribution is intentional. We are aware that white people can also be affected by the unjust distribution of resources\, by poverty. We\, therefore\, ask those who can to pay the maximum rate\, so that everyone who wants can take part in both workshops. \nThe workshop will be held in German and English and will be translated. It makes things go slower\, and that helps. \nIf you are not sure which workshop is the right one for you (e.g. because you pass as white and you experience racism\, please contact us!) \nEmma Steel is interested in communication experiments that break convention\, in humour and in how we can get closer to our own inner beasts while remaining professional or authentic. In her workshops\, it is important to her that making mistakes and asking questions is always welcome.\nShe has been working as a dominatrix since 2006 and as a coach and therapist since 2013.\nSince 2004 she has taken part in quite a few anti-racism and anti-bias training. Emma sees herself as a learner\, a seeker and as someone who makes mistakes and takes responsibility. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 29th\, 2022\, 12pm-6pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Womên \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, curiosity\, comfortable clothes\, snack food\, blanket \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:The Elements of “Seme” IV: 冷熱 Reinetsu (Cold&Heat)
\n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 29th\,  2022\, 11 am – 1 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: research lab & discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, simultaneous translation into English will be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: basics \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner\, a hard point \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes\, participants will not be recorded.
