SUMMARY:For Those In Ropes
DESCRIPTION:This open-ended workshop will look at information\, tips\, tricks\, hacks\, exploration\, and self-learning for those who like to spend time in ropes. \nWe will start from the premise that rope is collaboration and partnership between the person tying and the person tied\, meaning we will focus on working together to reach a common goal rather than on how one party can adapt themselves to another. \nPart of the session will be a practical demo\, part discussion\, and part Q&A\, with the blend determined by the pursuits and queries of those who attend\, so bring your questions! This workshop warmly welcomes people who primarily tie as well but asks that they observe and absorb rather than actively participate. \nWe happily take your questions before the workshop. Feel free to write to us via info@karada-house.de \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 20th\, 2022\, 7 pm- 10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: all levels welcome \n\n\n\n\nWhat to bring: pen & paper\n\n\n\n\nClass recording: yes\, will be available for 14 days to the participants of the conference \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:The FAT Lab & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Are you tired of feeling like your body doesn’t fit the narrow imagery of bondage? So are we. This is a rope jam for people who dress in sizes 44 and up. \nBecause we want a space that celebrates the fact that not only can all of us tie and be tied\, but we look gorgeous doing it. And because we want a space where we can help each other and share knowledge specifically about tying fat bodies. In an environment where we are not the exception but the norm. \nCeci Ferox is available during the jam to help and give ideas. They have experience and knowledge in tying fat and heavy bodies both from inside and outside the ropes. \nNote: There is no suspension possible\, the jam will be floor work based. \nIf you can buy clothes in normal clothes stores\, please make sure to give extra space for the experiences and voices of those with bigger bodies than yours. \nWho is welcome? \nPeople who dress in sizes 44 or larger because smaller sizes do not fit their body. Yes\, you can bring your smaller rope partner with you. No\, you can not come alone if you dress in sizes that are smaller than 44 or only dress in those sizes because you like “baggy” clothes. \nPlease contact us if you have any questions or needs about accessibility! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 20th\, 2022\, 1 pm – 5 pm – Doors open between 12.45-1.15 pm\, only \nFormat: Lab and Jam \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nWhat to Bring:  \n  \nWhat we teach/offer \n– Collective start with an introduction round \n– Lab time where we ask specific questions on tying or being tied and troubleshoot together \n– Fun times practicing and playing \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Taking Charge
DESCRIPTION:“Power tends to corrupt\, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” – Lord Acton \nThis proverbial saying conveys the opinion that\, as a person’s power increases\, their moral sense diminishes. Is this a line that must always be followed? \nThe act of leading\, of being in charge\, or taking charge is so frequently presented by society in damaging ways. And yet there are stunning\, as well as beautiful examples to the contrary. Would a part of yourself find joy in being given space to lead? Offering yourself the pleasure of intentionally and respectfully taking\, speaking to what you desire? \nCaritia invites you to find out more about the power you hold\, the power you yield\, and to explore intentional ways in which each person within the dynamic can find their way to walk in a way that respects your own boundaries\, those of others\, and the excitement\, as well as intimacy leadership\, can hold. \nThe space offered is to learn more about your relationship with power\, leading\, leadership\, and active following. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 19th\, 2021\, 10 am – 1 pm \nFormat: workshop & exploration space \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: Anything that would support your process and communication style \n \nSolo or Partnered:  partnered\n \nPrice: is per pair \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n– what is power? what are the elements of power? \n– negotiation as a leader \n– leading vs dominance \n– creating boundaries within your space \n– communication in an intimate space \n– Feedback and close \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Frank Conversations: Polyamory & Non-Monogamy
DESCRIPTION:Frank Conversations is a loose discussion series that tackles complex topics around\, relationships\, kink & sexuality\, bodies\, gender\, and identity in a no-bullshit kind of approach. We all have questions and problems\, sensibilities\, trauma but also curiousness and playfulness around these topics. \nTogether we will create a safe(r) environment where ANY question can be asked. \nTogether as a group and led by Caritia & Mamana we will talk about the things that need to be talked about but which often do not find space for a frank discussion. \nOur approach is open\, honest\, and always based on lived experiences\, intersectional ideas\, and the understanding that by talking openly we can all learn and progress. \nThis frank conversation will revolve around polyamory & non-monogamy. \nWe happily take your questions before the discussion. SUMMARY:Pointy & Spikey – Needles 101
DESCRIPTION:When we were young\, we were frequently instructed not to play with sharp things. But now\, as adults\, we get to play around.  There is a lot of fun to be had from exploring what our body’s capacity is. It may also be an opportunity to release and let go of things no longer needed or feared. \nCaritia will take participants through the steps to exploring their own body or the body of another person in a thoughtful\, safe(r)\, and practical way when exploring and playing with needles. This workshop will include actual practice (for you to watch or follow along)\, as well as a discussion and Q & A. The aim of this workshop and discussion is to inform participants about how to create a safe(r) environment to play with this edge practice of needles from an informed perspective. \nNOTE: The needle in the event picture is NOT the kind of needle to use. We chose this picture as there are lots of people with needle phobia and this particular pic in non-triggering. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 16th\, 2022\, 7 pm-10 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: questions\, a way to make notes\, \nFor anyone who wishes to actually do the practice you are advised to purchase \n-hypodermic needles 26\, 27\, or 28 gauge (example of what is written in the description Gr. 20 27G x 3/4″ – 0.40 x 20 cm. 20 cm) For Germany: www.praxisdienst.com or other medical supplier in your requestive country. \n-A small table\, \n-a jar or sharps bin\, \n-band-aids\, \n-skin disinfectant spray and/or wipes\, \n-tissues\, \n-a rubbish bin\, \n-gloves – latex or non-latex any color. \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we teach: \n-body anatomy & chemistry\, \n-needle anatomy\, \n-clean space\, \n-intention\, \n-health\, hygiene & safety\, \n-care \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Yes\, please / No Thanks – Giving Consent\, Holding Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Let’s be playful with consent 🙂 \nThe general idea of consent and boundaries is often portrayed to be as simple as offering someone a cup of tea. However\, in reality\, it is much more nuanced and complicated\, especially when taking our intersectionalities\, different contexts\, and power structures into consideration. And then what? \nCaritia will guide and support participants in solo\, paired and group exercises to get to grips with what consent means to you\, how it can be applied in everyday situations\, and the mindsets that can open you up to more playful interactions with others. Let’s dive in\, get messy and acknowledge the dimensions. \nThe aim of the workshop is to get to know yourself and your boundaries more deeply. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 12th\, 2022\, 12 pm-3 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: paper\, pen\, questions and stories \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we will teach: \n-Layers of consent\, \n-nuances of play\, \n-communication tools\, \n-intersectionality\, \n-relating to others \n  \nWho is this event for? SUMMARY:Creativity\, Chaos and Rope
DESCRIPTION:Tying without patterns is a good way to learn about tension\, frictions\, and placement of rope. Freestyling\, going back to basics\, and breaking rules will help you understand the material you are working with. It will also free your mind for play. Unpredictability might help access deeper levels of connection. \nIn this workshop\, we will go through different drills that will help your creativity and communication. We will look at\, touch\, and test the rope to understand cause and effect. We use single and double column ties\, and frictions to create ties for everybody and every body. \nYou should take an active and attentive mind with you – tested and tried patterns are always safer than free flow\, and this has to be taken into consideration. We will discuss safety concerns in the workshop. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 6th\, 2022\, 11 am- 6 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: intermediate \n• Good understanding of the fundamentals of tying on the floor and doing suspensions (single & double column tie\, ladder\, half hitch\, munter hitch\, X-friction\, L-friction\, half-moon and suspension line frictions and locks).\n• Knowledge of nerve impingement and basic suspension safety.\n• Understanding of own and partner’s limits and capability to make informed\, negotiated decisions.\n• This should not be your first suspension workshop\, but it is possible to stay in semi suspensions and close to the floor if you’re unsure of your skill level.\n• No physical requirements for participants.\n•  Exercises are done in pairs\, please find a partner in advance. \nWhat to Bring:  5-8 ropes\, towel\, or blanket\, snacks \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (each participant must purchase a ticket)\n \n  \n  \nWhat we will teach you \n– Exercises for creative tying\n– Making mistakes and troubleshooting\n– Breaking basic rules of tying \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Barkas & Addie
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we want to make sure that practitioners know they don’t have to take themselves too seriously. \nWe are queering ropes\, we deviate from the norm and have fun. We tie with everything but hands. This is mostly for the fun of it but also contains a very valuable lesson: \nUnderstanding how certain techniques like frictions\, knots\, or patterns work without the use of your hands generally elevates the understanding of those techniques. A win-win situation. \nEveryone should try. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop/demonstration \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single column tie \nWhat to Bring: ropes safety gear \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

Let’s explore the possibilities here\, especially in the ways we communicate in rope\, both verbally and non-verbally. \nLeaving structure aside for a moment\, what compels the person tying with ONE MORE ROPE?\nWhat habits do you have\, and which of them do you seek to break?\nWhat feedback and response is your partner giving you\, and are you receiving it?\nWithout the road map of a pattern\, where might your hands lead you? \nAs the person being tied in one more rope\, what are you drawn to?\nWhat do you want and/or need more\, and less\, of?\nIn what ways do you communicate through rope\, and is the message being received?\nHow can one more rope help you feel seen? \nThrough discussion prompts and hands-on exercises\, Blue and Moxie will lead attendees through explorations to break habits\, deeply listen to our partner\, and find some unique ties along the way. \nThis class is aimed at attendees with a foundation of tying knowledge\, including experience tying/being tied in structured patterns. The class will be hands-on for tying partners; self-tyers are welcome to participate as well. For those who get tied and are interested in the topic\, please join us! You are welcome to participate in the discussion prompts throughout the class. \nBlue and Moxie will be demonstrating the exercises with a hands-bound box-tie\, and some talking points will address this particular type of tie. However\, it is not necessary for you to know a box-tie to enjoy this class! \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop\, discussion \nMinimum Knowledge Level: This class is aimed at students who have a solid base of tying knowledge\, including experience in tying/being tied in structured patterns. The class will be hands-on for tying partners; self-tyers are welcome to participate as well. For those who get tied and are interested in the topic\, please join us! You are welcome to participate in the discussion and journaling prompts throughout the class. \nWhat to Bring: Bring 3-5 lengths of rope. No suspension gear is necessary. Those tying solo may want to bring a pillow or stuffed animal they can tie. Bring a journal or notebook. Have in mind a basic pattern/structure that you have tied before (whether it be a chest harness\, or mermaid tie\, calf binder\, etc). \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:Kanna & Kagura
DESCRIPTION:The possibilities of rope are endless. \nThere are many different goals and many different approaches. \nThe performance is full of Kanna’s likes and Kagura’s likes\, and how we answer in our own way at the time\, showing as an example of how to play with rope. There are means to what we want to do\, and the means can be changed. The means tend to become the end\, but the rope is the means\, not the goal. Come see our answer for approach and goal this time! Look forward to diving deep with you all♬︎♡ \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: performance \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: maybe snacks and drinks 😀 \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

SUMMARY:QUEEROPE 2022 Day Ticket: Sunday
DESCRIPTION:  \nQUEEROPE 2022 is a 5-day virtual conference for mostly shibari/kinbaku/Japanese-inspired bondage that is exclusively for LGBTQIA+ people and womên. \nWe welcome all roles (rigger/tops\, model/bottoms\, switches\, etc.)\, all knowledge levels (beginner\, intermediate\, advanced)\, and all styles to this gathering that aims to bring queer & female-identifying practitioners together to celebrate their love for rope and exchange knowledge and experiences. \n\nLineup Sunday: \n12 pm – 1.30 pm CET:  Creative Rope Practices (Caritia) \n1.45 pm – 3.45 pm CET: Semenawa Performance (Kanna / Kagura) \n4 pm – 6 pm CET: Facets of Semenawa (Subay & V) \n6.15 pm – 8.15 pm CET: TBA (True Blue) \n8.30 pm – 10.30 pm CET: Tying Without Hands (Addie / Barkas) \n  \nDay Pass: \n50 Euros per day pass. \nA day pass is valid for one person for the entire conference day and includes access to the recordings of the day’s classes for 30 days after the event. \nFor a full conference ticket\, please go here. \n  \n  \nFAQ: \nHow do you define “LGBTQIA+” & “womên”? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nWomên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \nI am not LGBTQIA+ and not a womên\, can I still attend? \nNo\, please respect that this particular event is not for you. There are lots of other events you can attend. But Queerope one is solely for people of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum & womên. \nI cannot afford the ticket but would love to join. What do I do? \nSend us a message via info@karada-house.de. If we have pay-it-forward tickets available we will make them available to you. If we don’t we will put you on a waiting list or see what else we can do. Either way\, we will find a way. \nWhat platform do you use for the virtual conference? \nWe need to use Zoom as it is the only platform available that is affordable and stable enough for bigger groups. Please make sure you can fulfill the requirements for Zoom from your side to have a satisfactory experience.  We will do our best to make the zoom calls safe by engaging all possible security features. You do not have to turn your camera on and you can use any name you like. \nThe times don’t always work for me / I cannot attend everything I want… \nThat is why we will make recordings available to you\, so you can watch & re-watch them within 30 days. \nIf I share my computer with a person\, is buying one ticket enough? \nNo. You are not paying for the computer access but for the knowledge that the facilitators and artists are distributing. Please respect that knowledge has a worth and should be compensated. \nI am all alone at the moment and have no partner. Does it still make sense to participate? \nAbsolutely. There will be a variety of topics and skills and not all of them require a partner. You can learn a lot even just by listening and watching or trying things on yourself. We will also provide knowledge and possibilities for self-tying & suspension and other solo practices.

SUMMARY:Tapiwa
DESCRIPTION:The focus of my rope style is the translation of simple\, foundational techniques into feeling and mood. \nBoth the 1-hour performance and 1-hour workshop will focus on this. Minimal focus on aesthetic\, with a more liberal and playful approach to intimacy\, sharing rope without the explicit definition and command of power often present in rope. While learning knots\, safety considerations\, and other technical details are important\, mood\, creativity\, and expression aren’t always at the forefront of teaching spaces. \nFinally\, I’m a Black\, African person and my rope practice embraces my local culture and is not centered around Japan or European values\, motifs or dogma. This will be a considerate deviation from the usual. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop/performance \nMinimum Knowledge Level: There are no prerequisites\, however\, knowledge of tension reversal and maintenance\, column ties and safety around rope would facilitate easier learning in the attendees. \nWhat to Bring: Your own rope kit\, comfortable clothing\, water \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n
