SUMMARY:Shame – A Different Approach
DESCRIPTION:  \nShame\, for many\, is a constant shadow\, a companion that seems to hold the power for great pain as well as for great pleasure. Shame is also used in a vast discourse of understanding cultural differences and even to describe entire societies. And shame is often treated like yet another mere tool for kink play\, like an object or even a fetish. \nIn this workshop\, Barkas and Addie deconstruct the various concepts of shame and “recycle” them for rope bondage. With a new understanding of the terminology\, we will take shame and use it to approach intimacy and identity a little bit differently. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  April 7th\, 2022\,  7pm-10pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Single column tie \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be made available after the live class for 14 days. \n  \nWhat we teach: \n* shame – guilt; what’s the difference if there is one?\n* The two poles of shame; the directionality of shame.\n* Uncovering and covering; how etymology can be used in a rope scene.\n* Put in place; the position of shame.\n* Shame in Yukimura Ryu.\n* Who is ashamed?; the connection between shame and identity.\n* Shameless; being ashamed of shame and how to play with that.\n* Discussion \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Kink and Neurodivergence
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur intimate connections can be a mixture of complex\, delightful messiness that each one can find a challenging prospect to walk through. Add to that the multiplicity of how each individual processes through your senses\, minds\, and emotions\, the potential for misunderstanding is vast. When intimacy\, touch\, and desire are added to that already heady mix is it any wonder that things become confusing. \nWhy is it vital to speak and share ideas about neurodivergence/ neurominority people within the context of kink and intimacy in general? How can more supportive paths be found to support the curiosity of intimacy and connection? \nIn this open discussion and lab\, Caritia aims to open up a personal and collective conversation about the topics of kink and neurodivergence\, inviting participants to actively dialogue and share their experiences around this complex topic. And in doing so explore ways in which the nuance and messiness can be brought to bear as part of a utopia of sharing space with each other. \nNote: This is an alive and ongoing process of learning\, it is not intended to be a ‘fits in a box’ idea or concept. \nWho is this for: \nThis workshop has been derived for a variety of folx: New folx to kink. SUMMARY:Hishi (Diamond) Patterns
DESCRIPTION:The hishi (diamond) pattern is not only pretty but also functional. It doesn’t divide the body with vertical lines\, but diagonally\, which makes the tie adjust to the body better and divides the pressure of the ropes more evenly on the whole tie. \nIn this workshop\, we will learn two hishi variations by tying upper body harnesses. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 27th\, 2022\, 2 pm – 6 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: we will work with the direction changer\, munter hitch\, and half-moon friction. One of the ties is a box tie\, so people getting tied should be able to get their arms behind their back. Contact Ceci in advance if this is not possible for you\, ceci.ferox@gmail.com \nWhat to Bring:  5-8 ropes\, towel\, or blanket\, snacks \nSolo or Partnered:  partnered\n \nPrice: is per pair \n  \nWhat we will teach you \n• Reviewing frictions\n• Hishi chest harness\n• Hishi box tie \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

SUMMARY:For Those In Ropes
DESCRIPTION:This open-ended workshop will look at information\, tips\, tricks\, hacks\, exploration\, and self-learning for those who like to spend time in ropes. \nWe will start from the premise that rope is collaboration and partnership between the person tying and the person tied\, meaning we will focus on working together to reach a common goal rather than on how one party can adapt themselves to another. \nPart of the session will be a practical demo\, part discussion\, and part Q&A\, with the blend determined by the pursuits and queries of those who attend\, so bring your questions! This workshop warmly welcomes people who primarily tie as well but asks that they observe and absorb rather than actively participate. \nWe happily take your questions before the workshop. Feel free to write to us via info@karada-house.de \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 20th\, 2022\, 7 pm- 10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: all levels welcome \n\n\n\n\nWhat to bring: pen & paper\n\n\n\n\nClass recording: yes\, will be available for 14 days to the participants of the conference \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:The FAT Lab & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Are you tired of feeling like your body doesn’t fit the narrow imagery of bondage? So are we. This is a rope jam for people who dress in sizes 44 and up. \nBecause we want a space that celebrates the fact that not only can all of us tie and be tied\, but we look gorgeous doing it. And because we want a space where we can help each other and share knowledge specifically about tying fat bodies. In an environment where we are not the exception but the norm. \nCeci Ferox is available during the jam to help and give ideas. They have experience and knowledge in tying fat and heavy bodies both from inside and outside the ropes. \nNote: There is no suspension possible\, the jam will be floor work based. \nIf you can buy clothes in normal clothes stores\, please make sure to give extra space for the experiences and voices of those with bigger bodies than yours. \nWho is welcome? \nPeople who dress in sizes 44 or larger because smaller sizes do not fit their body. Yes\, you can bring your smaller rope partner with you. No\, you can not come alone if you dress in sizes that are smaller than 44 or only dress in those sizes because you like “baggy” clothes. \nPlease contact us if you have any questions or needs about accessibility! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 20th\, 2022\, 1 pm – 5 pm – Doors open between 12.45-1.15 pm\, only \nFormat: Lab and Jam \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nWhat to Bring:  \n  \nWhat we teach/offer \n– Collective start with an introduction round \n– Lab time where we ask specific questions on tying or being tied and troubleshoot together \n– Fun times practicing and playing \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Taking Charge
DESCRIPTION:“Power tends to corrupt\, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” – Lord Acton \nThis proverbial saying conveys the opinion that\, as a person’s power increases\, their moral sense diminishes. Is this a line that must always be followed? \nThe act of leading\, of being in charge\, or taking charge is so frequently presented by society in damaging ways. And yet there are stunning\, as well as beautiful examples to the contrary. Would a part of yourself find joy in being given space to lead? Offering yourself the pleasure of intentionally and respectfully taking\, speaking to what you desire? \nCaritia invites you to find out more about the power you hold\, the power you yield\, and to explore intentional ways in which each person within the dynamic can find their way to walk in a way that respects your own boundaries\, those of others\, and the excitement\, as well as intimacy leadership\, can hold. \nThe space offered is to learn more about your relationship with power\, leading\, leadership\, and active following. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 19th\, 2021\, 10 am – 1 pm \nFormat: workshop & exploration space \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: Anything that would support your process and communication style \n \nSolo or Partnered:  partnered\n \nPrice: is per pair \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– meditation \n– what is power? what are the elements of power? \n– negotiation as a leader \n– leading vs dominance \n– creating boundaries within your space \n– communication in an intimate space \n– Feedback and close \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nWho is this event for? SUMMARY:Pointy & Spikey – Needles 101
DESCRIPTION:When we were young\, we were frequently instructed not to play with sharp things. But now\, as adults\, we get to play around.  There is a lot of fun to be had from exploring what our body’s capacity is. It may also be an opportunity to release and let go of things no longer needed or feared. \nCaritia will take participants through the steps to exploring their own body or the body of another person in a thoughtful\, safe(r)\, and practical way when exploring and playing with needles. This workshop will include actual practice (for you to watch or follow along)\, as well as a discussion and Q & A. The aim of this workshop and discussion is to inform participants about how to create a safe(r) environment to play with this edge practice of needles from an informed perspective. \nNOTE: The needle in the event picture is NOT the kind of needle to use. We chose this picture as there are lots of people with needle phobia and this particular pic in non-triggering. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 16th\, 2022\, 7 pm-10 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: questions\, a way to make notes\, \nFor anyone who wishes to actually do the practice you are advised to purchase \n-hypodermic needles 26\, 27\, or 28 gauge (example of what is written in the description Gr. 20 27G x 3/4″ – 0.40 x 20 cm. 20 cm) For Germany: www.praxisdienst.com or other medical supplier in your requestive country. \n-A small table\, \n-a jar or sharps bin\, \n-band-aids\, \n-skin disinfectant spray and/or wipes\, \n-tissues\, \n-a rubbish bin\, \n-gloves – latex or non-latex any color. \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we teach: \n-body anatomy & chemistry\, \n-needle anatomy\, \n-clean space\, \n-intention\, \n-health\, hygiene & safety\, \n-care \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Yes\, please / No Thanks – Giving Consent\, Holding Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Let’s be playful with consent 🙂 \nThe general idea of consent and boundaries is often portrayed to be as simple as offering someone a cup of tea. However\, in reality\, it is much more nuanced and complicated\, especially when taking our intersectionalities\, different contexts\, and power structures into consideration. And then what? \nCaritia will guide and support participants in solo\, paired and group exercises to get to grips with what consent means to you\, how it can be applied in everyday situations\, and the mindsets that can open you up to more playful interactions with others. Let’s dive in\, get messy and acknowledge the dimensions. \nThe aim of the workshop is to get to know yourself and your boundaries more deeply. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 12th\, 2022\, 12 pm-3 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: paper\, pen\, questions and stories \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we will teach: \n-Layers of consent\, \n-nuances of play\, \n-communication tools\, \n-intersectionality\, \n-relating to others \n  \nWho is this event for? SUMMARY:Creativity\, Chaos and Rope
DESCRIPTION:Tying without patterns is a good way to learn about tension\, frictions\, and placement of rope. Freestyling\, going back to basics\, and breaking rules will help you understand the material you are working with. It will also free your mind for play. Unpredictability might help access deeper levels of connection. \nIn this workshop\, we will go through different drills that will help your creativity and communication. We will look at\, touch\, and test the rope to understand cause and effect. We use single and double column ties\, and frictions to create ties for everybody and every body. \nYou should take an active and attentive mind with you – tested and tried patterns are always safer than free flow\, and this has to be taken into consideration. We will discuss safety concerns in the workshop. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 6th\, 2022\, 11 am- 6 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: intermediate \n• Good understanding of the fundamentals of tying on the floor and doing suspensions (single & double column tie\, ladder\, half hitch\, munter hitch\, X-friction\, L-friction\, half-moon and suspension line frictions and locks).\n• Knowledge of nerve impingement and basic suspension safety.\n• Understanding of own and partner’s limits and capability to make informed\, negotiated decisions.\n• This should not be your first suspension workshop\, but it is possible to stay in semi suspensions and close to the floor if you’re unsure of your skill level.\n• No physical requirements for participants.\n•  Exercises are done in pairs\, please find a partner in advance. \nWhat to Bring:  5-8 ropes\, towel\, or blanket\, snacks \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (each participant must purchase a ticket)\n \n  \n  \nWhat we will teach you \n– Exercises for creative tying\n– Making mistakes and troubleshooting\n– Breaking basic rules of tying \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. SUMMARY:Barkas & Addie
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we want to make sure that practitioners know they don’t have to take themselves too seriously. \nWe are queering ropes\, we deviate from the norm and have fun. We tie with everything but hands. This is mostly for the fun of it but also contains a very valuable lesson: \nUnderstanding how certain techniques like frictions\, knots\, or patterns work without the use of your hands generally elevates the understanding of those techniques. A win-win situation. \nEveryone should try. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop/demonstration \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single column tie \nWhat to Bring: ropes safety gear \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n
