SUMMARY:Tech Dump Part I: TK-ish Ties
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe details and mechanics of technical suspension are Addie’s specialty and passion. Over the past 6 years\, she has amassed a wide\, varied repertoire of suspension experience\, with a heavy emphasis on tying different people with different preferences\, and adapting ties to people rather than the other way around. Pre-pandemic\, she taught TheSpace’s Techie Tuesdays\, a weekly series that focused on how and why ties work the way they do\, helping participants to build a working\, functional knowledge of tying for suspension. \nThis progressive series will be heavy on understanding rather than memorization\, on technical details (why something works in situation A but not B\, how it can be adapted for B) and on personalization. We will examine everything from hitches to hip rotations\, with the goal of achieving smooth rope and body handling\, predicting and preventing trouble spots\, and staying one step ahead of necessity. \nThe goal is not to arrive at a particular visual end result\, but to use all our skills and knowledge to create ties and situations that make the person in ropes happy\, however their ‘happy’ manifests. \n  \nTech Dump Part I: TK-ish ties (December 14th\, 7-10 pm CET) \nThis session can be taken as a stand-alone or as part of the larger series. It covers the version of the TK that Addie uses\, tied both front and back\, with examples tied for different body types\, shoulder configurations\, injuries\, and preferences. We will look at the foundational elements of TK-ish ties\, what each part contributes to the tie\, and what can be modified without compromising the safety and integrity of the structure. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 14th\, 2022\, 7pm-10pm CET \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: single column tie\, double column tie \nThere is no previous suspension experience required to participate\, and each suspension will be shown with levels of difficulty to offer information\, challenge\, and accomplishment for participants with any level of previous experience. Throughout\, there will tips\, tricks\, and suggestions for those who are tied. There will also be time for tying practice\, and many (though not all) elements can be modified for those who like to self-tie. \nFor those tying: No previous suspension knowledge necessary\, especially for the early sessions. Those who are new to TK-ish structures are also welcome to participate\, but should take the TK session first\, and be willing to stick to the more basic versions/variations of ties. For the suspension classes\, a good goal for tying participants is to be able to tie a suspension-worthy upper body tie smoothly\, a non-collapsing single column tie on the first try\, and to open\, move\, and re-lock a suspension line without fumbling or cussing. \nFor those being tied: I recommend having some previous experience in rope so that those being tied have a frame of reference and can make more informed decisions. This does not have to include suspension experience. Likewise\, there are no pre-requisites for flexibility\, fitness\, lack of injuries\, etc; one of the goals of the series is to tie for the differences in how individuals work\, to use that individuality to best advantage. In Addie’s experience\, the pairs who have the most success in workshops are generally those who can laugh together and who approach challenges as a team. \nIf you have any questions about those guidelines\, please contact Addie (addietahl@gmail.com). \nWhat to Bring: ropes (the techniques covered work well for natural fiber rope\, and synthetic will behave differently. This series is not suited to tying with synthetic rope)\, a partner\, suspension point if you want to tie along \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be made available after the live class for 14 days. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de \nPhoto: ChevStar_fl

SUMMARY:Meeting Yourself with Empathy
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes it is easier to offer empathy to others than ourselves– let’s work the muscle that is self-empathy and find ways to resource ourselves with more support\, acknowledgment\, and presence. In this session\, you will explore what a self-empathy practice can look like for you. \nWe will explore getting in touch with feelings and needs\, and explore where and how these may sit physically in our bodies. Being able to name and give qualities to our emotional experiences can support us to acknowledge our feelings and reactions make sense. We will find ways to distinguish between the part of us which is having the emotional experience\, and the part of us which is witnessing the part having the emotional experience\, and how this feels to do. There will be a demonstration of what a self-empathy practice can look like and time to practice in small groups. There will also be space for discussion\, sharing\, and reflection. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 13th\, 2022\, 7 pm- 9 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: session \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level:  n/a \nWhat to bring:  A journal. Any sensory items which would support you in grounding or self-care – a blanket you like\, something which smells good\, something with a texture you enjoy. \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations. Ticket price is per person. \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n• Getting in touch with feelings and needs\n• Space for celebration and mourning\n• Resonant self-empathy practice\n• Empathy for self-requests\n• Movement and solo touch exercises for grounding \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. Being there is enough! \nThis rope hangout will be in a location with access to hanging points (no bamboo though\, rings only). \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nTime: December 11th\, 2022\, 7-10pm \nCost: 5-15 Euros \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: all levels welcome \nWhat to Bring:  yourself\, optionally ropes  (we can also lend you ropes) \nSolo or Partnered:  both works\, this is peer-learning so partners are not necessary \n  \nSchedule: \n6.45 pm-7:05 pm: doors open (to ensure a safer space\, we ask you to be on time so everyone can see who is present at the starting circle)\n7:15 pm: starting circle\n7.30 pm – 10:00 pm: peer learning and social hangout\, space is chatty and there is no music \n  \nFormat: \nYour role as the participant is to share your knowledge and to get inspired by other people. You ask for help from other participants and help others whenever needed\, especially in risky or emergency situations. There is at least one facilitator present for the entirety of the hangout. The role of the facilitator is to offer the space and be the contact person in case of safety concerns. The facilitator is a participant\, not a teacher. The power of the facilitator is over the space and safety\, not over the knowledge shared. \n  \nAre you a newbie? \nWelcome to the hangout! You can attend at any time of your rope journey. We recommend sharing what you know with others even if you just began to tie. Teaching is the best way to learn! To get started with your rope skills\, take a look at our workshop schedule.\nWe recommend for you arrive at the beginning of the night. We have an introduction circle and go through the code of conduct and other important information. You will also see who else is there. If you can’t make it to the starting circle\, please contact us in advance.\nYou can always attend Rope Hangout alone and find new friends when you get there. If you feel socially awkward\, like many of us do\, bring someone you trust with you\, or send us a message in advance so we can prepare to give you extra support. \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here.

SUMMARY:Advanced Suspension Techniques Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:This weekend-long masterclass is for anyone who already has experience with suspension techniques\, and is looking for new challenges or inspiration to take their tying further within a safe(r) environment. \nGestalta will provide guidance as you explore with new techniques\, including adaptations and workarounds for different bodies/needs in suspension\, and feedback to help you improve your tying and build confidence in performing more complex suspensions and transitions. \nThis masterclass aims to empower both partners with a deeper understanding of shibari. SUMMARY:Connective rope play
DESCRIPTION:This workshop explores how to create connection and intensity in rope bondage play. Ceci will talk about bodies\, connective techniques\, and narratives to give you tools to create connections and more mindful play sessions. The goal is to make connection feel easier and less like telepathy. \nDifferent positions of the tied body are not just visual or practical. Our posture\, position\, and relation to each other directly affect how we feel and what the dynamics of our play become. We can also make an impact with how we use the rope in relation to our bodies. \nPlease find a partner for this workshop in advance and have a conversation about your desires and boundaries beforehand.\nYou will use the tying skills you already have during the workshop. SUMMARY:Magic Tricks for Excellent Rope Handling
DESCRIPTION:This class takes a deep dive into the minute details of what makes good tension\, clean placement\, even lines\, and smooth\, effortless rope movement. \nThese absolutely fundamental (and universally applicable) micro-techniques are difficult to pin down but magic once implemented\, and make the difference between good rope and excellent tying. We will look at how to use hands more effectively\, going into details like which fingers hold tension when\, how to flip or angle rope to prevent twists\, which angles to follow when throwing rope to clear it\, how to multi-task so that one hand can accomplish two (or three) tasks simultaneously. \nWe will break down how the person tying can maneuver their hands and body to tie even cuffs (thigh\, ankle) that stay in place\, or how to tweak those cuffs better suit the needs of a tie. We will also look at techniques to prevent finger and hand injuries for those who tie. These techniques are useful to anyone who ties\, no matter their style\, and all skill levels will find these techniques useful and productive. \nBeginners are especially invited to attend as it is easier to build good habits from the beginning. Solo attendance is also encouraged\, and techniques will be taught in such a way that they can be practiced on oneself. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  November 9th\, 2022\, 7 pm – 9.30 (probably 10 pm because Addie just knows too much) pm \nFormat: discussion & demonstration \nMinimum Knowledge Level: A single-column tie \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, ropes\, safety tools \nSolo or Partnered: any constellation\, works \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 14 days after the event. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Yes\, please / No Thanks – Giving Consent\, Holding Boundaries\, Negotiating Well
DESCRIPTION:Time to upgrade some of the most important kink and life skills! \nThe general idea of consent and boundaries is often portrayed to be as simple as offering someone a cup of tea. However\, in reality\, it is much more nuanced and complicated\, especially when considering our intersectionalities\, different contexts\, and power structures. And then what? Holding boundaries also sounds rather easy but how do you know what your boundaries are and how can you hold them with grace and without making them into walls that cut you off? And how do you negotiate your play and other events when life is messy and emotions are involved? \nCaritia will guide and support participants in solo\, paired\, and group exercises to get to grips with what consent\, boundaries\, and negotiation means to you\, how it can be understood\, and applied in everyday situations\, and the mindsets that can open you up to more playful interactions with others. Let’s dive in\, get messy and acknowledge the dimensions. \nThe workshop aims to get to know yourself and your boundaries more deeply. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  November 5th & 6th\, 2022\, 10.30 am- 6 pm (1 hour lunch break in between) \nFormat: Workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: paper\, pen\, questions\, and stories \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we will teach: \n-Layers of consent\, \n-nuances of play\, \n-communication tools\, \n-intersectionality\, \n-relating to others \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. SUMMARY:Releasing Grief and Sadness
DESCRIPTION:Sadness and grief touch so much of our present-day journey. \nThey are multi-layered and challenging to navigate\, but do they have a purpose? How can we personally\, collectively\, and metaphorically allow ourselves to sit with the complexity of sadness? And cherish\, honour\, and release our grief? Let’s give ourselves the gift(s) of transformation and inspiration. \nFor this ritual & workshop\, we will explore our grief place(s)\, where we find them\, why they are important and how we can remind ourselves to embrace them when we are challenged. The idea is not to have all the answers\, but more to give ourselves space to sit\, take time and share in a supportive held container. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 27th\, 2022\, 7 pm- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: none \nWhat to bring: Pens\, paper\, paints\, sketchbook\, images\, stories\, tissues\, objects\, and ideas to share \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be available after the live class for 14 days. \nWhat we will do \nCaritia’s proposal is to give space\, offer to witness/be witnessed\, and create rituals around grief\, sadness\, loss\, release\, and frustration. Exploring methods and actual practices/things which turn up the sadness in our lives – both individually and with others. Opening to the dark and the light. Mindfulness\, as well as a respectful tone\, is a must.\n• Guided meditation \n• Defining the nuances \n• Mess as a form of release \n• Communication Tool Kit – Finding Language around/ for sadness \n• Holding space alone or together – ways to connect \n• Who is your sadness for? \n• Feedback & close \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Kink and Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Join Ev for a work investigating the intersections of trauma and kink. \nThe vast majority of us carry trauma with us. How can we better understand how trauma operates\, both in general and in ourselves? We will work to understand the answer to this question so that we can enter into our kinks better aware of our own trauma\, how to care for others with trauma\, and ultimately create healing-centered experiences. \nIn this 2-part-training\, we will start by learning about trauma–what is it\, how it operates\, and what symptoms look like. As we learn what trauma is in general\, we will start to explore what trauma symptoms look like in our own lives\, so ultimately\, we can be better aware of our needs\, limits\, and desires. Lastly\, we will explore the intersection of kink and trauma\, including how kink can be a conduit of healing. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 26th & November 2nd\, 2022\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: water\, anything you might need if you feel yourself getting activated or triggered \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: Yes. This class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 14 days after the event \n  \nWhat we will explore \nWe will learn about the “Window of Tolerance”\, and the difference between “trauma-informed” and “healing centered”. We will also brainstorm how to make both our play and the broader kink scene more healing centered. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Deconstruct Your Kink
DESCRIPTION:How can we approach the big ominous terms in kink and intimacy? \nIn the vast field of kink\, sexuality\, and intimacy we encounter them on almost every step. Nothing seems to be able to hide from them; if we meet them\, they are often the reason for heated debates and absolutistic claims about their meaning. They are the big terms for relating to each other and many seem to be convinced that their meaning is obvious. But what is behind terms like pain\, shame\, sex\, identity\, and alike?\nIn this workshop\, Barkas and Addie present a hands-on discussion of what deconstruction means and what a productive deconstruction of several big terms of the rope and kink world could look like. There will be exercises but not necessarily with ropes. \n  \nThis event is a fundraiser event. All proceeds go to Karada House for building their new physical space in Berlin. You can choose how much you would like to pay for this event\, 10 Euros being the minimum amount. You can change the amount by simply typing into the field and changing it accordingly. Thank you for your support. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 16th\, 2022\, 7-10pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: None \nWhat to Bring:  curiosity \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes.
