SUMMARY:Yes\, please / No Thanks – Giving Consent\, Holding Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:Let’s be playful with consent 🙂 \nThe general idea of consent and boundaries is often portrayed to be as simple as offering someone a cup of tea. However\, in reality\, it is much more nuanced and complicated\, especially when taking our intersectionalities\, different contexts\, and power structures into consideration. And then what? \nCaritia will guide and support participants in solo\, paired and group exercises to get to grips with what consent means to you\, how it can be applied in everyday situations\, and the mindsets that can open you up to more playful interactions with others. Let’s dive in\, get messy and acknowledge the dimensions. \nThe aim of the workshop is to get to know yourself and your boundaries more deeply. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  May 11th\, 2023\, 7 pm-10 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: paper\, pen\, questions and stories \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no. \n  \nWhat we will teach: \n-Layers of consent\, \n-nuances of play\, \n-communication tools\, \n-intersectionality\, \n-relating to others \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Kink and Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Join Ev for a work investigating the intersections of trauma and kink. \nThe vast majority of us carry trauma with us. How can we better understand how trauma operates\, both in general and in ourselves? We will work to understand the answer to this question so that we can enter into our kinks better aware of our own trauma\, how to care for others with trauma\, and ultimately create healing-centered experiences. \nIn this 2-part-training\, we will start by learning about trauma–what is it\, how it operates\, and what symptoms look like. As we learn what trauma is in general\, we will start to explore what trauma symptoms look like in our own lives\, so ultimately\, we can be better aware of our needs\, limits\, and desires. Lastly\, we will explore the intersection of kink and trauma\, including how kink can be a conduit of healing. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  April 26th & May 3rd\, 2023\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring: water\, anything you might need if you feel yourself getting activated or triggered \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome \nClass recording: Yes. This class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 14 days after the event \n  \nWhat we will explore \nWe will learn about the “Window of Tolerance”\, and the difference between “trauma-informed” and “healing centered”. We will also brainstorm how to make both our play and the broader kink scene more healing centered. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Introduction to Domination
DESCRIPTION:With the societal models and the many destructive examples of domination\, it can be a struggle to find the desire and erotism in power play. How do you embrace intentional and consensual power hierarchies? What does it mean to be dominant from a decolonized\, deconstructed\, dynamic play perspective? \nJoin Caritia for this weekend-long workshop deep dive which will cover the basics of finding your dominant self and how in turn you may wish to explore with another on the power spectrum. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  April 1-2\, 2023\, 10.30 pm- 6 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: none \nWhat to bring: – \nSolo or Partnered:  solo or partnered (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n– boundaries & consent \n– finding your play match(es) \n– negotiations \n– communication style \n– character vs skill (building) \n– what are you into? \n  \nMandatory Covid-19 rules \nAll visitors and participants must wear an FFP2 mask at all times. \nIf you would like to inform yourself about other safety measures we have in place\, please consult our Covid-19 measurements here. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \n
