SUMMARY:Gestalta’s Study Group
DESCRIPTION:This study group is an opportunity to delve into the intricacies of Gestalta’s personal rope style; their techniques\, thought processes\, and aesthetics\, and receive feedback and coaching on both the minute details and overarching principles of shibari from a practitioner with more than 16 years of extensive experience on both sides of the rope. \nEach session will have a focus—a specific tie\, element\, or principle—that invites a deep exploration. Gestalta will present a range of options for each theme to accommodate students at different stages and abilities. This approach ensures a thorough understanding of the chosen topic and allows participants to refine their skills and also find inspiration and insights to expand their rope journey by observing the possibilities at different levels. Space will be given at the end of each session for student-led discussions\, allowing for reflection and the exchange of experiences. \nGestalta’s teaching approach goes beyond technical proficiency\, emphasizing a comprehensive understanding of the anatomical and psychological aspects of shibari\, with a focus on developing the skills of both tying partners. Gestalta’s classes are known for their rigorous yet accessible and welcoming nature. Through their guidance\, you will refine your abilities\, expand your knowledge\, and explore new horizons in your rope journey. \nTo keep the study group dynamic and adaptable\, the theme of each session will not be advertised online\, or scheduled too far in advance. Instead\, participants will be invited to join Gestalta’s Study Group telegram/mailing list\, where the themes for the next classes will be discussed and announced. This flexibility allows for organic\, student-driven discussions\, ensuring that the direction of the classes remains open to exploration and responsive to the needs and interests of the group. \nThis study group is not suitable for beginners. However\, it welcomes a range of students at an intermediate level and beyond. Whether you are confident with suspensions or prefer tying on the floor\, Gestalta will guide and support you at your current skill level\, ensuring that each participant receives personalized attention and guidance. If you are unsure about whether your level is suitable please contact Gestalta at mgmt@gestalta.co.uk for clarification. \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  every second and fourth Wednesday of the month\, 7 pm-9.30 pm \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: knowing enough frictions to tie a simple chest harness \nWhat to Bring: comfortable clothes\, ropes\, safety equipment \nSolo or Partnered:  partnered \nPrice: price is per pair \nWe offer flexible options for participation with 5 and 10 class passes available at reduced costs. SUMMARY:Semenawa Series
DESCRIPTION:Semenawa is a concept in Shibari that is often misunderstood. \nSemenawa is often translated as ‘torture’ rope\, however\, a more accurate term might be to describe it as ‘torment’. The intention is for both the rigger and model to be consciously exploring suffering through rope\, however\, what can make it difficult to grasp is whether or not the suffering should feel pleasurable. Semenawa is often seen as something that must feel painful\, but suffering is not exclusive to pain. \nIn this two-part series\, we will be exploring the subtle nuances in creating a tormenting experience without compromising on our limits and safety measures. The focus will be on stirring up the inner torment of the individual experience\, rather than applying pain. \nPart 1 (July 11th\, 2023\, 7 pm-9.30 pm) \nIn this class\, hua hua will introduce her own personal approach to Semenawa\, which she’s developed through her studies with Naka Akira and integrated with my other practices. Semenawa is a state of mind rather than a style. hua hua will share how we can identify this state of mind through positions\, timing\, rope handling\, and communication. The workshop will end with a demonstration of Semenawa play with space for feedback and questions afterward. \nPart 2: (July 18th\, 2023\, 7 pm-9.30 pm) \nIn the second class of this series\, we will be focusing on the practice of patience and endurance in creating a Semenawa experience. The class will include exercises that can be tied on the floor without a suspension point. Students may choose to tie along with the class\, however\, this is only optional. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  July 11th and 18th\, 2023\, 7 pm- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop/demo \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge level: Basic Knowledge of Shibari e.g some context of the culture and consent practices\, experience with simple knots and frictions if they wish to tie along \nWhat to bring:  Rope if you would like to tie along\, and participate with a partner. \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations. The ticket price is per person. \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand.  \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender. \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \nIf you cannot afford the ticket price (even the solidarity price)\, please send us a message. We will find a way.

SUMMARY:Why do Suspensions?
DESCRIPTION:  \nTo suspend the other with ropes can offer a huge variety of different experiences at once. It can bring the person in ropes into a completely different state at best and be a stressful and harmful experience at worst. The attraction of suspension rope work presents itself in many ways and it is obvious that suspending your partner requires a good understanding of the rope techniques. \nThis workshop does not teach yet another pattern or position in the air but explores the whys of suspending as well as the meta aspects of being “in the air”. In a handful of exercises\, we take a look at why we might want to suspend in the first place\, how we can change the story arches prescribed into suspensions\, as well as how we can use suspensions to communicate with each other more consciously. \nThis workshop is geared towards those who think about starting to suspend as well as those who already have suspension experience but want to look at the practice from another perspective. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  July 5th\, 2023\,  7pm-10pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring:  – \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. SUMMARY:Online Dating\, Kink and Trauma Tingles
DESCRIPTION:The term “trauma tingles” was coined by Nkem Ndefo and is talking about the sexy excitement many of us feel when we re-enact dramatic dynamics that feel very very familiar – and therefore „safe“ for the oldest part of our brain. Whatever we did when we were small was wise and adaptive and ensured our survival. But often\, our old patterns are not helpful anymore. \nWith the aspect of “trauma tingles” in mind\, it’s time for us to take an honest look at our dating patterns. Some of us keep running into the same dating dynamics over and over again. It is important to look at them with compassion. When BDSM or kink is part of what we desire we have a beautiful way in to explore and negotiate boundaries\, consent\, and desire. It is good to discern again and again what is open and honest communication and what is trauma tingles. \nFor some of us\, online dating is like a liberation. For others\, swiping can feel like ordering pizza\, dehumanizing others and ourselves. Not being able to even imagine being part of this form of hooking up can feel alienating. Excessive online dating can be like drugs\, or working too much\, or whatever our coping mechanisms are – a way to avoid feelings like fear\, sadness\, and emptiness. Dynamics that come from what we did as kids to survive seem thrilling and sexy sometimes – trauma tingles. \nThis workshop will work with lots of practices to help our nervous systems avoid overwhelm and regulate on their own and to co-regulate with each other. SUMMARY:Non Verbal Communication for Rope
DESCRIPTION:  \nOne cannot not communicate. The smallest hand movements\, facial expressions\, body positions\, and whatnot are adding to a patchwork of communication that is constantly at work between the tied and the tying person. A lot of that is happening subconsciously and we will never be able to mean literally everything we do. But we can make an effort. In this workshop\, we explore the little details of body language that are spoken during a Kinbaku scene. We specifically look at the person tying and what they are doing in terms of hands\, face\, position\, and timing. \nPrerequisites: A strong interest in tying is enough. Although we will tie more or less complicated patterns\, those are not the focus. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  June 28th\, 2023\, 7 pm-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to Bring:  – \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be made available after the live class for 14 days. \n  \nWhat we teach: \n\nWhat is nonverbal communication?\nHow can we become more aware of the space around and between us?\nTiming is everything. What are the proper moments of doing something?\nThe attitude of tying. How can we align what we are tying with how we are tying it?\nFeedback loops. “I know that you know that I know that you know…”\n\n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. SUMMARY:Erotically Massaging The Nervous System
DESCRIPTION:  \nThere are fascinating somatic hacks to calm the nervous system & body. And they can be included in play! Join Almond to learn & practice massage techniques to activate the vagus nerve before\, during & after a play session! \nWant to calm your partner’s nervous system while you’re spanking them? Let’s do it! Want to have the most relaxing session with your vibrator? We can make that happen! Want to explore intense sensations while also keeping your body relaxed? Let’s explore this! \n  \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nMinimum knowledge level: – \nMaximum amount of participants: 16 \nCan you just watch passively? No. To respect the vulnerability of those putting the massage skills into practice in their erotic play\, please don’t watch or observe other participants. \nWhat to bring: Any toys & tools you’d like to explore \nConstellations: all constellations welcome \nAccessibility: The great part about stimulating the vagus nerve is that it responds to imagined touch as well as physical touch. You’ll be reminded of this through the workshop. So\, if any or all of the physical touch techniques aren’t accessible to you\, imagining this touch is also effective. Almond is also very happy to provide alternatives at any time during this workshop.
