SUMMARY:Wild Card: Emotions in Rope
DESCRIPTION:Wild Card Slots are peer-learning slots where participants of Queerope 2023 teach other participants. \n  \nOmbre Anatkh offers: \nI’d like to propose a slot about emotions in ropes. I’ll be talking about technical tools to welcome and trigger a variety of emotions during a rope session as a rigger but also how to deal with our emotions as models and how to communicate about it. I’ll present how to create an auspicious atmosphere to welcome our rope partner’s emotions (talking about the rope scenography). And finally the responsibility we have as rigger and model concerning our emotions and limits in ropes. \n  \nFormat: wild card \nMinimum knowledge level: Single and double column tie\, how to lock a suspension ligne\, x frictions\, halfitch\, counter tensions + security basics (check\, radial\, brachial…ect). \nMaximum amount of participants: 5 pairs \nWhat to bring: 3 ropes needed minimum + if possible they can bring objects they use to increase emotions inside a rope session \nConstellations: pairs \nAccessibility: –

SUMMARY:Maximalist Harnesses
DESCRIPTION:  \nMaximalist Harnesses are a style of tying that Pauline has been developing in the past years. \nThis style is characterized by prioritizing comfort but is also keeping it versatile for riggers and models to play with. You just need enough ropes and play around. It’s a very forgiving harness for more new riggers and suitable for most types of bodies. Especially for models who do not tolerate too much pain and pressure on their bodies or just want to feel cozy while tied up. Even for trans-masc folks it can be a nice start building a chest binder and help with gender euphoria about their chest. \nSome of those ties are suitable for self-tying folks\, except the harnesses that include the arms in. \n  \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nMinimum knowledge level: single and double column\, counter tension\, half hitch\, complex friction ( X\, L\, or half moon). Anatomy and safety of course \nMaximum amount of participants: approx. 15 pairs (30 people)\, people watching but not participating are welcome \nWhat to bring: bring as many ropes as you’ve got \nConstellations: all constellations welcome (solo\, partnered\, groups) \nAccessibility: We will work intensively with the sense of touch\, this may be challenging for some participants. Exercises vary between standing and sitting\, but can be adapted for participants who struggle in either position.

SUMMARY:The Single Greatest Rope Exercise Ever
DESCRIPTION:  \nNot an exaggeration! If Addie could teach everyone\, regardless of level\, just one exercise it would be this one. If ropes were music this would be an etude\, an exercise that can be practiced in different ways\, with different emphases\, to develop different techniques and skills. It covers protecting finger joints\, nailing and maintaining tension\, preventing rope burn\, and body handling and movement while tying. And it results in a suspensionable harness\, if you are into that! \nPeople are welcome to switch\, come solo and find someone to tie with\, or come solo and practice on themselves. Not quite as effective but still worthwhile. \nModel: Liff \n  \nFormat: hands-on workshop \nMinimum knowledge level: single-column tie \nMaximum amount of participants: 15 pairs\, passive watching is welcome. Please participate and be present. \nWhat to bring: – \nConstellations: partnered\, groups \nAccessibility: we will be sitting on the floor but other ways to sit more comfortably can be arranged

SUMMARY:Wild Card: Shame\, Vulnerability and Being Perceived – the Bottom Perspective
DESCRIPTION:Wild Card Slots are peer-learning slots where participants of Queerope 2023 teach other participants. \n  \nAGINE offers: \nIn this slot\, I want to start out by sharing my experience of shame as a bottom\, and what the feelings are that give meaning to my shame in sessions. \nI’d like to then invite the others to share their experiences and questions. I want to encourage discussion among everyone so we can gain a deeper understanding of what shame can be\, and what (our) shame means to us. \nIf we have the time\, I would also like to talk about how we as bottoms can access shame in sessions\, what obstacles we might face and how to address these with our riggers. \n  \nFormat: wild card \nMinimum knowledge level: \nWhile this discussion is bottom-centered\, riggers are also encouraged to join\, but participants should already have some experience with emotionally impactful sessions. \nMaximum amount of participants: 12 \nWhat to bring: – \nConstellations: all constellations welcome (solo\, partnered\, groups) \nAccessibility: This is going to be a vulnerable and emotional topic\, which might include talk about shame in regard to sexuality as well as social and personal trauma\, so please be aware of potentially uncomfortable or even triggering conversations.

People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender\, heterosexual womên. \nThe word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word “womxn” which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the “x” in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined. \n

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training for Beginners: Takate Kote Part I
DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly open training is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. \nOur open rope training for beginners is a continuous offer for anyone looking for a regular practice space to advance their skills. SUMMARY:Kink & Race
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur BDSM scenes and subcultures are embedded in our society and societal norms\, in what we know\, and in what we want to transform. Kinky people do not exist in a bubble in which power relationships no longer matter just because we negotiate certain dynamics in our play relationships or are “nice” to each other at play parties. \nIn other words: We bring ourselves with us\, all our experiences and assumptions when we participate in BDSM. We are not automatically of integrity or really empathetic because we like “cool”\, deviating sex techniques or because the label “queer” fits us. \nThis workshop is for folks of the global majority and those who identify within the BPoC spectrum and is about creating an atmosphere of exchange that is as free as possible of (self) accusations and harshness. It’s about gently approaching a violent issue\, the racist system\, in which we are deeply entangled and in which we participate every day. In order to regain our individual\, as well as collective dignity\, and to establish new forms of engaging with the world and systems that we inhabit. Let’s not allow ourselves to be caught up in the performative acts and actions\, as well as acknowledge that we as BPoC folks can not change everything. Acknowledging that “Faster\, higher\, further\, performance\, immediately” is counterproductive. Let’s face ambivalence. Pausing to allow complexity to arrive in our bodies. Polarity is not our true reality. \nOften shame stands in the way. Shame paralyzes\, triggers the impulse to flee\, and wants to hide. That is why in our workshop we will devote ourselves to shame\, taking time for it\, in the hope not only of appreciating it but also of being able to leave it behind us again and again. In the hope of being able to be a little more part of the change that is so urgently needed.\nIn addition to simple body and breathing exercises and meditation that can take place lying down\, sitting\, or standing\, we approach the topic of shame by telling stories\, exchanging ideas in small groups\, and role-playing. The focus is on how perceiving our own bodies\, and furthermore our nervous system\, and in this way making new experiences that\, in the best case\, help to overcome shame and to get out of the rigidity into motion. \nThis workshop is open to the full spectrum of BPoC & PoC folks who are seeking intentional space to share\, relate and express on the topic of shame and the challenges faced by the systems that oppress those whom the system was not built for and as it relates to BDSM and kink in your life. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 8th\, 2023\, 7 pm-9.30 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends\, BPoC & PoC\, only \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring: yourself\, curiosity\, comfortable clothes\, snack food\, blanket \nSolo or Partnered:  both work (everybody needs to buy a ticket) \nRecording: no \nNote: No one will be turned away for lack of funds\, write to us with your offers and contributions. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. SUMMARY:The FAT Lab & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Are you tired of feeling like your body doesn’t fit the narrow imagery of bondage? So are we. This is a rope jam for people who dress in sizes 44 and up. \nBecause we want a space that celebrates the fact that not only can all of us tie and be tied\, but we look gorgeous doing it. And because we want a space where we can help each other and share knowledge specifically about tying fat bodies. In an environment where we are not the exception but the norm. \nCeci Ferox is available during the jam to help and give ideas. They have experience and knowledge in tying fat and heavy bodies both from inside and outside the ropes. \nIf you can buy clothes in normal clothes stores\, please make sure to give extra space for the experiences and voices of those with bigger bodies than yours. \nWho is welcome? \nPeople who dress in sizes 44 or larger because smaller sizes do not fit their bodies. Yes\, you can bring your smaller rope partner with you. No\, you can not come alone if you dress in sizes that are smaller than 44 or only dress in those sizes because you like “baggy” clothes. \nPlease contact us if you have any questions or needs about accessibility! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  September 5th\, 2023\, 7-10 pm – Doors open between 6.45-7.15 pm\, only \nFormat: Lab and Jam \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nWhat to Bring:  \n  \nWhat we teach/offer \n– Collective start with an introduction round \n– Lab time where we ask specific questions on tying or being tied and troubleshoot together \n– Fun times practicing and playing \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop is held in spoken English. SUMMARY:The Politics of Kink – Kink is Political!
DESCRIPTION:This exploration takes the participation on a journey behind the scenes of “the scene”. We will ask ourselves what it could mean that something seemingly so private could possibly be thought of as political. And in asking that\, we will find out that if we study certain practices from a historical perspective\, we automatically show that they are constructed. The histories of kinky practices act\, then not as a tool for their justification\, but rather to discover their uses as political agents. This workshop is about the politics of kink and the kinks of politics; it is a tour through kink as deviance\, through kink as oppression and liberation alike. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  August 30th\, 2023\, 7-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nPrice: 25 Euros \nTicket: price is per person \nRecording: This session is not recorded \n  \nWhat we will discuss: \n. Possible histories of kink\n. Deconstruction of terminologies\n. What is political? What is power?\n. Kink is political – now what? Possibilities.\n. Discussion with us \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. If you participate in this workshop and need more assistance\, i.e. someone reading out the chat\, etc\, please message us at info@karada-house.de beforehand. \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describe people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Magic Tricks for Excellent Rope Handling
DESCRIPTION:This class will look at hand and finger multitasking techniques to move rope smoothly and efficiently\, saving the tying person’s fingers and the person in rope’s skin\, while increasing control\, contact\, and connection between tying partners. The class will provide several exercises to be used long-term to develop skills and build muscle memory\, thus leaving more brain space free to focus on one’s partner. These techniques apply to any style\, tie\, and skill level. Learning good handling early in your rope career is a fantastic step\, and seasoned rope enthusiasts can add efficiency and subtlety to their tying. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  August 29th\, 2023\, 7-9 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum knowledge level: single-column tie \nSolo or partnered: Both.
