SUMMARY:Creating Intentional Space(s)
DESCRIPTION:Sharing space is something that can be fun\, challenging\, complex\, and messy\, no matter the dynamics. \nCreating a space for yourself as a solo individual is different from an event offered in a public setting involving 20 or 1000 people\, for example\, a play party or club night (or any other space). Are there cross-over or universal aspects that can support you\, your play partners\, and groups who desire to create space together? And what are the parts that are unique to your personal experience(s) that need to be considered to allow for you to be in a playful/intimate/open state? \nIn this discussion\, lab & shared collaborative setting\, Caritia aims to offer an inward-to-outward approach to creating space that offers nuance for expansion\, creativity\, and support when walking into the unknown. As well as keys to communicating and practical ways to resolve challenges in & away from charged situations. This 3-hour workshop is a toe-dip into a complex subject\, attendees will be encouraged to do their own ongoing research. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  November 10th\, 2023\, 7-9.30 pm \nFormat: workshop & discussion \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & Friends \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: N/a \nWhat to Bring:  Pen\, paper\, questions and an open mind to discovery \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations welcome (the ticket price is per person)\n \n  \nWhat we will teach/offer you \n• meditation\n• communication styles\n• boundaries\, negotiation and care\n• what is intention? how does it relate to space or the creation of them?\n• who do you wish to be in an intentional space? Character creation & persona exploration\n• objects and items – what they can represent in space and support creativity\n• utopias of play\n• feedback and questions \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nAccessibility Note \nThe workshop and discussion are held in spoken English with automated captions in English which are provided by Zoom. Communication within the class can be had via chat but also people can come on mic and speak. SUMMARY:Shame – A Different Approach
DESCRIPTION:  \nShame\, for many\, is a constant shadow\, a companion that seems to hold the power for great pain as well as for great pleasure. Shame is also used in a vast discourse of understanding cultural differences and even to describe entire societies. And shame is often treated like yet another mere tool for kink play\, like an object or even a fetish. \nIn this workshop\, Barkas and Addie deconstruct the various concepts of shame and “recycle” them for rope bondage. With a new understanding of the terminology\, we will take shame and use it to approach intimacy and identity a little bit differently. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  November 8th\, 2023\, 7 pm-10 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Single-column tie \nWhat to Bring:  if you want to tie along you need ropes\, safety gear\, space\, a partner \nSolo or Partnered:  both (each participant needs a ticket) \nClass recording: Yes. SUMMARY:Akechi Kanna & Kagura Semenawa and Predicament Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:  \nFor Akechi Kanna aesthetics and patterns are what come after deeply connecting to your partner and giving them sweet consensual torment\, delicious suffering\, and sweet relief. In Kanna’s school of rope / Kanna-ryu every rope\, every placement\, every tension and action should have an intention that the person tying is controlling. \nIn this weekend intensive workshop\, you will learn rope for playing and interacting with your partner in the modes of seme (“torture” rope)\, predicament\, and rope for kink play as well as “supporture” (seme rope with extra care to make it supportive for all bodies and abilities). Kanna and Kagura will show you how to tie and control your sessions in multi-faceted ways depending on your intention. They will also teach you techniques\, tricks\, and ways of thinking about tormenting your partner by managing the placement\, lines\, tension\, timing\, direction\, distribution of the weight\, gravity\, body structure\, and limitations. \nThis workshop supports and encourages your understanding of the structure of the body and your partner’s abilities\, states\, and preferences\, reading the tension and your partner’s face and body language\, predicting what will happen with your ropes and your partner’s physical feelings in them\, as well as putting your own preferences into efficient and meaningful ties. \n  \nIn Kanna & Kagura’s own words: \nWhether it’s the first time to meet you\, or it’s been a while\, or you’ve met us online but never in person\, no matter what level you are\, we really couldn’t wait to enjoy the ropes in the same space with you all! We’ve always been hoping to be committed to providing safe\, respectful\, equitable\, and enjoyable learning environments for queer or gender diverse students while supporting their development and interaction with their partner. So we are super excited to share these with you! \nIf you’ve taken a workshop in the past or an online class\, you’ve learned the basics and you are probably familiar with Kanna-ryu! Some of the content may overlap\, but this series would be instructive for upgrading your skills or polishing off your knowledge!! In-person workshop classes\, we’re offering skills development training workshops [*not professional teacher training workshop]\, with direct instruction such as checking\, correcting\, and suggesting to each person. \nOur education plan puts students focusing on lifelong learning (the long-term benefits for sustainable rope activities) first\, along with exploring a variety of approaches and methods or diverse possibilities\, while prioritizing developing step-by-step skills\, creativity\, knowledge\, and experience\, rather than pushing new patterns practice as many as possible. \nThe content and instruction of the class will be tailored on a case-by-case basis\, based on the level of the class\, the student’s progress and speed\, reflecting the student’s interests and demands\, and/or the partner’s fatigue\, as well as what is needed and what is good to know. In multi-level classes\, the class may have a division in the middle sometimes flexibly depending on the student’s choice: skill practice\, reteach or mini-lesson\, and play with partners. \nPlease don’t compare yourself to other students. There are no rankings\, no comparisons\, or competition between students or schools in Shibari and workshops. Shibari is available for every body of all ages\, genders\, and abilities. Differences that vary from person to person could be valued as individual characteristics\, and grow creativity with special needs. Our doing rope activities Shibari or Kinbaku is interpersonal communication even in group learning. Focus on yourself\, your partner\, your interests\, and your goals! \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 28th & 29th\, 2023\, 10 am – 6 pm (lunch break included) \nFormat: hands-on workshop\n \nAudience: LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: Japanese\, and English live translations by Kako \nMinimum Knowledge Level: you must be intermediate to advanced level and comfortably able to tie solid harnesses and suspend your partner. You need to bring a partner that is interested and has consented to seme ties and this specific kind of rope play \nWhat to Bring:  a full set of ropes (8-10 ropes)\, safety equipment\, a partner who consents to this kind of play\, solid negotiation skills\, a sadistic mind to enjoy watching the partner’s suffering reaction or a masochistic mind that enjoys to suffer and be watched \nSolo or Partnered:  the ticket price is per PAIR \nPrice: 400€/pair\, includes entry to Friday’s Rope Salon \n  \nPayment Plans \nWe offer the possibility to pay in installments for this weekend intensive. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people. \n
