In three parts we invite the participants to explore with us what lies in between and beyond mere rope techniques. From “un-planning” scenes and waiting for each other to the small but meaningful pauses.\nWe will demonstrate that people can get more out of rope not by learning yet another pattern or sequence.\nPart 1 (July 8th\, 7-10pm CEST): Planning or not planning a rope scene.\nWhat are the advantages and disadvantages or either of the approaches and how can we consent to what we can’t yet know?\nPart 2 (July 15th\, 7-10pm CEST): Pauses and what happens in them.\nWhen is it a good time to pause? How to communicate that this was intentional? DESCRIPTION:A three-part series for couples and polycules\, exploring the most common places where sex breaks down\, and how to rebuild with intention\, honesty\, and skill. \nGrounded in sex therapy and informed by kink-aware\, queer-inclusive practice\, this series looks at sex not as an isolated act\, but as something shaped by conflict\, connection\, and relationship. \nJuly 16th: Part 1 – Fight\nWhen sex isn’t working\, it’s often not about sex. \nThe first part of the series looks at the conflicts\, tensions\, and relational patterns that block desire and connection. We’ll explore how resentment\, misaligned expectations\, communication breakdowns\, and unspoken needs show up in intimate spaces. \nYou’ll learn how to identify the actual fight you’re having (hint: it’s rarely about the surface issue)\, and how to engage conflict in a way that creates connection instead of distance\, and safety instead of resentment. We’ll work with tools for tenderness\, empathy\, and staying present in difficult conversations\, negotiation\, and boundary setting. \nJuly 30th: Part 2 – Fun\nBefore sex can work\, the relationship needs to feel alive. \nWhen everything becomes logistical\, tense\, or goal-oriented\, intimacy often follows suit. This workshop focuses on the role of play\, fun\, lightness\, and connection outside of sex\, and how their absence can quietly erode desire. \nWe’ll explore how partners lose access to shared joy\, and what it takes to rebuild it. What creates a sense of “us”? How do playfulness\, curiosity\, and mutual enjoyment show up in everyday interactions? And how can you reintroduce them without it feeling forced or performative? \nThis session is about widening the lens: seeing sex as something that grows out of the overall tone of a relationship\, not something that can be fixed in isolation. \nAugust 13th: Part 3 – Fuck\nOnce conflict is addressed and connection is alive\, how do we actually do sex in a way that works? \nThis workshop focuses on the experience of sex itself: arousal\, pacing\, communication during intimacy\, and the role of play within sex. We’ll explore how resentment\, misaligned expectations\, communication breakdowns\, and unspoken needs show up in intimate spaces. \nYou’ll learn how to identify the actual fight you’re having (hint: it’s rarely about the surface issue)\, and how to engage conflict in a way that creates connection instead of distance\, and safety instead of resentment. DESCRIPTION:It’s queer rope jam time\, babes! Once in a while you gotta do ropey stuff amongst other queers and just enjoy yourself. No posing\, no being cool or extra good at doing ropey things needed. Come as you are\, exhale and enjoy yourselves. \nWhat is a rope jam?\nRope jams is an open space format. Part hangout\, part jamming with other like-minded people who are into rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku. Come and hang out and watch others do ropey stuff or do some yourself.  The queer rope jam is where you can bring your (rope) partner(s) or meet new people who love to tie\, be tied and/or self-tie. It is also a great space to have sessions in a safe(r) environment with people you do not know yet. \nWe welcome all styles\, all bodies\, all knowledge levels. There will be cute music\, extra special lighting and snacks. In the last hour of the jam\, we will lower the lights and music and make it extra cozy.
