SUMMARY:Murasaki Haruan – Yukimura Ryu Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:This masterclass explores deeper layers of Yukimura-ryu through the practice of renbaku – a form of alternating rope work in which Murasaki and participating students take turns tying the same person. This format reveals the subtle shifts in emotional tone\, physical intention\, and energetic connection that emerge when different people engage with the same body\, the same rope\, and the same moment. \nRenbaku is not a performance\, but a shared process of learning through observation\, feeling\, and contrast. It invites deeper sensitivity to the changing relational dynamic between the person getting tied and the person tying and opens space for reflection – from all involved. People in ropes play an essential and active role in this learning format by attuning to and expressing the nuances they experience across multiple rope sessions. \nRather than introducing new forms or a catalogue of ties\, this weekend emphasizes continuing the basics at a deeper level. The workshop is not about “doing” more\, but about feeling more\, seeing more\, and refining presence\, responsiveness\, and intention. Renbaku is one of the most direct ways to study the emotional heart of Yukimura-ryu. \n\nFormat and Flow\nThe exact structure of the weekend will remain open\, allowing us to adapt to the group’s needs. Possibilities could include rotating renbaku sessions with multiple riggers\, focused study on transitions and emotional layering\, and group reflection after each practice. Students will be encouraged to tie actively\, people in rope should feel comfortable receiving rope from more than one person\, and observers are welcome to engage with the process through discussion and shared insight. \nThis masterclass is intended for those with prior experience in Yukimura-ryu or similar emotional rope styles. It is best suited to those wishing to deepen their sensitivity\, intuition\, and interpersonal expression through rope. \n  \nPrivate Lessons with Murasaki\nMurasaki Haruan will be with us in Berlin for two consecutive weekends. The first weekend (August 16–17\, 2025) will be a foundational Yukimura-ryu workshop. The second weekend (August 23-24\, 2025) will be a Masterclass including renbaku teachings. She will also host a renbaku salon (August 15) and offer private sessions at Karada House between the two weekends.

SUMMARY:Objectification with Rope Series
DESCRIPTION:Objectification has always been a widely popular fetish within the BDSM scene\, especially in connection with bondage. In this 3 part series hua hua will share her approach to objectification through the practice of Shibari\, making use of the versatility and ritual of rope to play with this fetish. Drawing from her experience as both an artist and dominatrix\, hua hua will guide you on how to mindfully\, creatively and effectively turn a willing bottom into a beautiful object of pleasure. We will explore how to celebrate the unique assets of the individual\, how to adjust your communication to dehumanize the bottom\, and understand how to play with different types of objects. \nPart 1: Introduction to Objectifying with Rope\nShibari is never just about restraining the person in ropes\, it can also be an act of presenting the person\, to feel seen and accepted as they are or even as a means to transcend their human form. As the top in the scene\, it is important to take care of your bottom; keeping them safe from injury\, ensure that the pleasure of objectification comes from both sides and to facilitate the space to allow them to let go of their walking talking self and fully commit to being an object. In the first part of the series we will explore how to take responsibility and care for your objects\, discuss why we desire to play with objectification and dissect the presence of objectification in the world of Shibari. The class will end with an improvised demonstration where hua hua will tie her model\, the students are then asked to share feedback on how objectification played a role in the session. \nPART 2: Sculpting\nIn the second class we will be exploring how the rope bottom can serve as an art piece for the top to sculpt\, shape and showcase. The aim for this part of the workshop is to expand our definition of aesthetics in Shibari as a way of exploring the beauty of the individual in your ropes. Drawing on the dynamic of artist and muse\, the class will focus on how to use rope to highlight/fetishise certain features\, what aesthetics give you both pleasure and how gaze can impact the model’s experience. Students are invited to tie along and present their pieces at the end of the class. \nPart 3: Furniture Play\nThe final class of the series will focus on how to play with dehumanisation and functionality. Human furniture has always been a popular fetish within BDSM especially in connection with bondage. However this fetish is often depicted with highly gendered (specifically feminine) shapes\, which can contribute to body dysmorphia and gender inequality. In this workshop we will explore how to transform them from human to furniture through a playful and collaborative dynamic. This part of the class will involve discussion of power play\, headspace\, ergonomics and how to communicate without breaking the model out of their role. After the demonstration\, students will make their own furniture and explore how to modify the demonstrated tie to make the most of their partner’s assets.

SUMMARY:Murasaki Haruan – Foundations of Yukimura Ryu
DESCRIPTION:This workshop offers a thorough introduction to the foundational principles of Yukimura-ryu\, with a particular focus on one-rope practices\, minimal rope expression\, and pose exploration. We will center our attention on the emotional and communicative aspects of Yukimura-ryu—what the style is and what it is not. Using simple techniques and minimal rope\, we aim to explore complex layers of intention\, presence\, and interaction. \nWhile the physical forms are modest in appearance\, the internal and relational depth is substantial. This workshop is best suited for those drawn to quiet intensity and nuanced emotional connection\, rather than for those seeking semenawa or performative rope styles. \nDay 1: Communicating with one rope\n– sharing ideas and thoughts about what Yukimura Ryu is and what it is not\n– concepts of Yukimura Ryu\n– communication with one rope \nDay 2: Applying the Basics\n– practicing the basics and adding more rope\n– applying our knowledge to typical poses found in this style\, i.e. one open leg\, kemono shibari etc. \nPrivate Lessons with Murasaki\nMurasaki Haruan will be with us in Berlin for two consecutive weekends.

SUMMARY:Murasaki Haruan – Renbaku Salon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an intimate salon-style evening with Murasaki Haruan\, centered around the practice of Renbaku – a unique approach to tying in which multiple riggers engage with a single person in ropes in sequence\, allowing emotional and energetic shifts to unfold. \nThis evening is not a traditional performance\, but rather a space for quiet observation\, reflection\, and learning. Murasaki will guide the experience\, either by taking part in the tying or offering live commentary as dynamics develop. Each session may explore how presence\, breath\, and subtle decisions in rope bondage shape the shared experience. \nThe evening will feature two tying sessions\, each lasting approximately 30–40 minutes\, with a short break and group reflection between them. Whether through quiet intensity or gentle connection\, this event offers a rare opportunity to witness and reflect on the depth of interactions that rope bondage can evoke. \nPrivate Lessons with Murasaki\nMurasaki Haruan will be with us in Berlin for two consecutive weekends. The first weekend (August 16–17\, 2025) will be a foundational Yukimura-ryu workshop. The second weekend (August 23-24\, 2025) will be a Masterclass including renbaku teachings. SUMMARY:Rope Hangout: Bamboo
DESCRIPTION:A rope hangout is an event where we learn from each other\, peer-to-peer\, get to know each other\, and do rope in a relaxed atmosphere\, regardless of experience level. All kinds of Japanese inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku are welcome. \nYou can hang out\, have drinks and snacks and chat with people if you don’t feel like tying. Being there is enough! \nThis month’s special focus: Bamboo\nThe things you research\, share\, and explore at rope hangout don’t have to be on this topic\, it’s merely a source of inspiration that we offer if people are interested. SUMMARY:Fuck this Shit – a Guided Dissociation with Ropes
DESCRIPTION:While a lot of thought and energy and practice and so on and so forth can be put into tying\, we are also all facing challenges in our everyday lives that are less and less bearable. Ropes can also be used to forget about all that shit out there\, all the fascism\, the economy\, the obliteration of human rights\, the climate\, and everything else that is bleak. It’s not a failure to just want to stop for just a moment. \nWhat happens at this guided dissociation?\nIn this guided dissociation\, we will be building a palace in our minds and with our ropes. We will meander through gardens and participate in lustful banquets\, we will fly over landscapes and meet with creatures who we might want to engage with or just watch from a distance. \nIn this journey\, narrated and guided by Barkas\, participants are invited to turn their brains off for a couple hours\, take a rope and either on themselves or with someone else\, just escape into a fantastic world.

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training (Intermediate): Torsions
DESCRIPTION:This monthly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. We will dive deeper into topics\, techniques and ideas that give more range and depth to your rope practice. \nTopic of Exploration\nTorsions\nIn this class\, we will explore torsions – shapes where the upper and lower body are rotated in different directions. Ceci will show you options for different skill levels\, and you will choose what you want to explore. You will also get knowledge in safety and what kind of harnesses you need for torsion. You will tie according to your skill level and can either stay completely on the floor\, in semi suspension\, or full suspension.

SUMMARY:Naoko Masterclass: One Body One Gote – Adapting Gote Shibari to Different Bodies
DESCRIPTION:Gote Shibari is one of the most iconic and foundational ties in Japanese rope bondage. In group workshops\, especially for beginner and intermediate students\, it is often taught as a fixed form. This helps students focus on learning essential technical components. While this approach is valuable for building solid rope techniques\, it often leaves little space for exploring and understanding how to adapt the tie to different people. Personalising the Gote is a nuanced practice that requires experience\, observation and deeper insight\, which is difficult to explore in a typical group setting. \nNaoko believes that no two Gotes are never the same. Whether you are tying someone for the first time or the hundredth\, every tie should be responsive to the person in front of you – how they feel on that day\, their body\, their energy\, the conversation you are having in rope\, and the space you are sharing. The Gote\, in her view\, is not a “one-size-fits-all” form but an evolving\, living expression of connection. \nAdapting Gote Shibari\nIn this workshop\, Naoko will present Gote Shibari as a customisable form through a series of live demonstrations (up to three\, time permitting). For each demonstration\, she will tie with a different person who has a distinct physique\, flexibility and personal preferences. Before tying\, Naoko will begin with an open conversation with the person being tied to understand their preferences\, needs and context of the tie. She will then tie the Gote specifically for them\, adjusting elements as needed while talking through the reasons behind her decisions. In some cases\, she may tie more the once to show variations or different approaches. After each demonstration\, Naoko and the person being tied will share a debrief to reflect on their experience. \nThroughout the class\, Naoko will talk through her thought process\, sharing insights into how she balances techniques\, aesthetics and feelings. She will demonstrate using the technical form of Naka style of Gote as the foundation. \nTopics include\n– Adapting to different body types (height\, weight\, muscle\, fat\, bone structure)– Navigating flexibility\, past injuries and physical limitations– How tying different bodies have an impact on time\, pacing\, number of ropes and the overall energy in a session– Understanding what sensations or experiences the person enjoys in Gote Shibari– Aesthetic choices based on body proportions – how to tie in a way that honours and highlights the unique beauty of the person being tied– Finding harmony between safety\, structure and emotional connection \nNaoko’s approach\nThis class focuses on individuality. Instead of relying on formulas for specific body types\, Naoko encourages a holistic and responsive approach. She avoids placing people into fixed categories like “flexible” or “inflexible” and applying standard techniques based on those labels. Rather\, she invites students to consider the full context of the person they are tying\, including their body\, emotions\, preferences\, and the interaction at that moment. The goal is not to follow a set method\, but to develop awareness and sensitivity in order to create an experience that truly suits the individual. \n\n
