DESCRIPTION:Sometimes it’s the not getting what you want that makes it all the more enticing and arousing\, so we will experiment with the pleasure of that in between space to draw out tension\, desire and ramp up some lustful yearning in bondage! \n\nThrough practical ideas and offerings as well as longer demonstrations\, this session we will delve into the pleasure of erotic frustration to explore getting ‘horny’ in ropes (and enjoying drawing that out…) to see what resonates for you. From my approach this is about seduction\, teasing and erotic objectification\, not necessarily always with a lot of close physical or normatively ‘sexual’ contact.\n\nProfessionally and personally in my sessions I love exploring the idea of classic ‘tie and tease’ varying distance\, restraint and frustration to heighten arousal and anticipation. We’ll play with coming in and out of someone’s physical space\, sensory deprivation and exposure\, intentional touch and denial\, as well as ‘edging’ outside of the classical genital/sexual sense.

Bring your curiosity\, your questions\, and your rope. \nThis month we are focusing on: face\, head\, hair – how to tie these both for the experience and for practical reasons of restriction and support. This class is suitable for all knowledge levels\, as long as you got your basics down. It is possible to self-tie in this class. Bring twine! \nMovement & Expression\nThese classes are dedicated to the research of the body\, movement and the artistic side of shibari. The topic varies\, and can be anything from dancing with rope or tying people using plastic bags to adding decorative and supportive elements to your harnesses. This gathering is intentionally created as a space for BIPOC participants to explore rope in community—with care\, curiosity\, and respect for the many ways we come to this practice. \nAcross the weekend\, we will move between structured learning\, guided exploration\, and open time to meet\, practice\, and build relationships with one another. SUMMARY:Stormy Tying - Ranboo Style Series
DESCRIPTION:Ranboo\, literally translated means stormy\, overwhelming\, wild. \nAbout 10 years ago\, Barkas developed Ranboo as a way of rejecting a static and often seemingly boring practice of rope bondage. A wild dance while tying with each other is the result.\nRanboo is characterized by a large amplitude of variation of distance\, speed\, and intensity\, paired with an element of surprise. It is not a set of patterns or a “visual goal” but a way of interacting\nwith your partner(s) through rope\, a specific interview type\, if you want. \nIn this 3-parts workshop series\, Barkas will accompany the participants through the principles\, applications\, and variations of Ranboo\, while keeping a strong focus on safety. \nDisclaimer: The highly dynamic nature of ranboo comes with the potential of greater risk for injuries. We strongly recommend participants watch the series in order and only practice exercises from the latter parts if they are proficient in the basic techniques. \nPart I Introduction (April 22nd\, 2026\,  7-10 pm CET)\nIn the introduction\, we will get to know the key terms of ranboo and get familiar with movement and techniques to safely tie in this style. \nPart II Next Level (April 29th\, 2026\,  7-10 pm CET)\nWe increase the pace and variation of distance and apply the principles learned in Part I to some standard patterns. \nPart III Floor & Air (May 6th\, 2026\,  7-10 pm CET)\nRanboo on the floor is challenging due to various aspects. In this part\, we use these challenges to further familiarize participants with the concepts developed in the previous parts but on the floor. Some challenges of ranboo that appear on the floor are similar when we go into suspensions. Other challenges are added. We go through a suspension and see how ranboo affects the way we can tie in the air. \n

SUMMARY:Reinterpreting Shibari - Floor Work
DESCRIPTION:It has been 10 years since the passing of Yukimura Haruki\, who is still regarded as the main instance when it comes to tying on the floor. His style of tying\, often called aibunawa or caressing rope\, followed a very distinct approach to rope and the goal of a scene and his followers mostly adhere to a relatively narrow interpretation of his teachings. \nIn this workshop series\, Barkas will depart from what they have learned under Yukimura Haruki and explore different avenues of tying on the floor.\nTo take the myth of a process-oriented Shibari scene seriously we will focus on the notion of emergence in tying. How can we tie on the floor in a way that the future remains unknown? How can this container be open enough to adapt to a situation rather than an outcome? \nThis class is geared towards people who have already some experience with floor work but want to break free from a too narrow view on the possibilities. \nApril 1st\, 2026\, 7-10pm: Setting up the container\nKey concepts through the lens of emergence.\nMovement on the ground: Elephant\, Archimedes\, & Peter Pan \nApril 8th\, 2026\, 7-10pm: Variation of contexts\nDoes floor work need to be caressing? Does it need to be sexualized? Does it need to be slow? Does it need to be codified in patterns? \nApril 15th\, 7-10pm: Suspended floor work \nSuspensions close to the ground\, either partial or full\, add a whole category of possibilities to the game that is based on emergence. \nBarkas studied under Yukimura Haruki for almost 4 years during their regular trips to Japan. In 2015\, Barkas received the name Harutsuyu by Yukimura Haruki. Although they are not a licensed Yukimura-ryu instructor\, Barkas’ teachings of floor work have contributed to a wider spread of and access to Yukimura’s style in North America and Europe.

DESCRIPTION:It’s queer rope jam time\, babes! Once in a while you gotta do ropey stuff amongst other queers and just enjoy yourself. No posing\, no being cool or extra good at doing ropey things needed. Come as you are\, exhale and enjoy yourselves. \nWhat is a rope jam?\nRope jams is an open space format. Part hangout\, part jamming with other like-minded people who are into rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku. Come and hang out and watch others do ropey stuff or do some yourself.  The queer rope jam is where you can bring your (rope) partner(s) or meet new people who love to tie\, be tied and/or self-tie. It is also a great space to have sessions in a safe(r) environment with people you do not know yet. \nWe welcome all styles\, all bodies\, all knowledge levels. There will be cute music\, extra special lighting and snacks. In the last hour of the jam\, we will lower the lights and music and make it extra cozy.
