SUMMARY:Erotic Body (‘Mis’) Handling
DESCRIPTION:In rope classes body manipulation is often taught to make things easier…smoother…for more cooperative and fluid transitions. \nIn this session we will explore body handling from a different angle – turning towards discomfort\, intensity and the erotic potential of pushing\, pulling and using a body in awkward and challenging ways. We will play with using our whole bodies in combination with rope to find simple ways to use pressure\, imbalance\, and awkward or forced positioning to amplify power dynamics\, physical intensity\, and emotional charge. \n\n

SUMMARY:Rope Study with Dasniya: Interconnection
DESCRIPTION:A monthly exploration of technique\, aesthetics\, and embodied experience in rope \nJoin us for our monthly Rope Study with Dasniya\, an intermediate level rope study session that blends intuitive movement\, systematic rope management\, and deepened awareness of body handling and safety. Throughout the session\, participants will have the opportunity to switch roles between tying and being tied—gaining a fuller understanding of restriction from both perspectives. Whether you are drawn to meditative ties\, sensual exploration\, or technical precision\, this class offers a space to experience rope with curiosity and care. \nThis Month’s Exploration: Interconnection\nIn this rope study class we will connect systems of consequent restriction with system of movements. Dasniya will open her vast dancers tool box to creatively expand the traditional shibari vocabulary. \nThis class on interconnection is loosely inspired by Sam Hsieh Teh-ching one year performance ‚Rope Piece‘  from 1983–1984 in collaboration with Linda Montano. \nClass participants will use shibari technique to bridge the distance between themselves and their tying partner. There will be movement orientated elements from contact improvisation: exploring each others weight\, off- balances and mutual support. As in bondage\, there are moments of heightened awareness\, pleasurable exhaustion\, and the sense of hovering in the air. Let’s micro shift\, fall and stumble together.

SUMMARY:Rope for Trans Joy: Getting Started
DESCRIPTION:Ever wanted to get into rope but felt like all the classes were a little… not for you? This is your cozy\, kinky\, gender-affirming gateway into Japanese-inspired rope bondage\, shibari — taught by a fellow trans nerd who gets it. \nIn this playful\, beginner-friendly workshop\, Ceci Ferox (they/them) will guide you through the basics of tying yourself and others in a way that’s easy\, creative\, and low-pressure. You’ll learn the essentials—like the single column tie\, double column tie\, how to extend your rope\, and how to wrap it all up (literally). Whether you’re dreaming of spicy solo sessions or sweet ropey moments with a cutie\, this is your chance to start building those skills. \nWe’ll keep it super hands-on with time to move\, experiment\, and mess around with rope at your own pace. You can tie solo\, with a buddy\, or pair up during class (consensually\, of course). Expect laughter\, learning\, and maybe a little blushing. \nWe’ll also talk about gender euphoria—how rope can be a tool for affirming your body\, exploring power\, and feeling hot in exactly the skin you’re in. \nWhat to expect\n\nSoft vibes\, stim toys\, good lighting\, and a bunch of cute trans people learning rope together\nA mix of demos\, hands-on tying\, and conversations\nConsent-centered\, kink-curious energy\nA mid-class snack break (because trans people deserve snacks)\n\nNo experience needed. Just come curious. Come queer. Come ready to play.

SUMMARY:Torments & Bamboos on the Floor
DESCRIPTION:Bamboos can add a very playful and surprising element to a rope session. \nThey introduce rigidity and structure\, allowing us to create unusual shapes and striking body constraints. For the one tied\, the sensations can be gripping and intense! \n \nWhat we will do in this class:\n \nIn this class\, we will explore challenging floor-based ties with bamboos\, and see how they can enrich our tying. A bamboo can become at once a frame that exposes the body\, a tool that gives more volume and three-dimensionality to positions\, and a trigger for torment and play. \n \nEverything intermingles\, creating a space where rope and bamboo merge into a single field of possibilities\, both practical and imaginative. \n\nNote: if you want to tie along and do not have bamboo\, try a broom stick or similar. \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Let the Cards Decide
DESCRIPTION:Join this guided rope play ritual. The premiss is simple\, three tarot cards will be selected from the Robert M Place ‘The Alchemical Tarot’ whose imagery was inspired by the work of Pamala Colman Smith (1878-1951). Be inspired to tie by what moves you within the cards. Each constellation of people can choose one aspect of the reading – one of the cards themes\, colours\, or tie in a way that incorporates all three of the cards. (only three cards will be randomly selected). \nCaritia will guide and support the space\, with the intention of holding this collective experience with joy and creativity. You choose the constellation you wish to participate in\, whether that is solo\, partnered or in a group. Being into tarot is not a requisite for participating\, the desire to be creative within a group setting is. \nNote: There will be no rope instruction\, this space is intended for tying inspiration\, creative expression and intentional play. \nWhat we will do \n\nintroductions\nintention setting and preparation\ncard selection and interpretation\nguided/Held space\nfeedback and close

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Detail Focus & Debugging
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. \nThis session is all about refinement: the often-overlooked micro-skills and subtle mechanics that elevate your rope from “functional” to “flawlessly intentional.” Whether you’re chasing the mythical perfect single-column tie or endlessly fiddling with your tension to no avail\, this workshop compiles years of niche knowledge into a concentrated toolkit you didn’t know you needed—until now. \nWe’ll break down the biomechanics of tying\n\nHow to control tension consistently\nHow rope behaves under load and movement\nWhat actually makes a single-column tie “good\,” and how to identify weak links\nHow to reduce drag\, increase flow\, and move like your future self\n\nAnd then—debugging\nBecause let’s be honest: ties don’t always go as planned. Ceci will introduce a practical Rope Debugging Checklist — a system for analyzing and troubleshooting your rope in real time. Bring your toughest knots\, recurring frustrations\, and messy half-solutions. You’ll get hands-on help in problem-solving real-world issues\, and leave with better strategies for working through technical glitches on your own. \nExpect lots of tinkering\, a healthy dose of analysis\, and plenty of “ah-ha!” moments. Rope as craft. Rope as puzzle. Rope as precision instrument. Let’s get into it. \nIdeal For\n\nTechnically-minded riggers\, bottoms\, and switches\nThe nerdiest of the nerds\nBeginners\, the people who think they already know it all\, and the people who got over that phase and know they still have years to learn\nAnyone who loves diagrams\, efficiency\, or the phrase “root cause analysis”

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training Intermediate: Predicaments in Partial Suspension
DESCRIPTION:This monthly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. We will dive deeper into topics\, techniques and ideas that give more range and depth to your rope practice. \nTopic of Exploration: Predicaments in Partial Suspension\nPredicaments are positions that give the person tied the opportunity to move between two or more positions that suck. In this class\, we will use partial suspensions to create ties that fuck with the mind. Ceci will demonstrate some fundamentals and ideas\, after which you will practice creating your own predicament ties. It’s possible to either copy what is shown or come up with your own version. Any kind of body can be tied in the class. You have to understand the risks of suspension on both sides of the rope to join this class.

SUMMARY:Rope for nerds: Modular Thinking & Frictions
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. In this first part\, we will focus on modular thinking and frictions in constructing shibari ties. \nEver wondered why certain ties just work—while others fall apart or feel awkward? Or how some learn patters as if by magic while others struggle with memorizing? This online workshop is your gateway to understanding the underlying building blocks that make your tying both secure and flowing. \nWhat we cover\nApproximately 90% of shibari patterns are based on the same foundational structures. In this lesson\, Ceci will demystify those core components and give you practical tools for understanding\, recreating\, and creating patterns. You’ll identify and use the modular elements that make up most ties\, gaining the ability to learn\, improvise\, and adapt with confidence. \nWe’ll also go to an even more micro level\, focusing on frictions—the key to stability and different aesthetics in rope. You’ll learn how half hitches and munter hitches function\, and how they can support both freestyle floor play and tying structured harnesses. Then we’ll go deeper\, exploring structural frictions like X frictions\, L frictions\, and half-moon frictions\, used in ties like chest harnesses and leg bindings. \nThroughout\, Ceci will emphasize why these elements work—not just how—giving you the theory and tactile understanding needed to move beyond memorizing patterns.

SUMMARY:Architectures of Kinbaku
DESCRIPTION:Kinbaku scenes are built first and foremost around  people. But also around the rope structure as well as the position and last but not least\, the purpose of the scene. \nIf we look at tying from the perspective of how they are constructed and if we acknowledge that everyone has their own view on tying\, their own set of aesthetics\, purposes\, and longings\, we can look at it in a similar way as we would with the different houses and districts of a city.In this workshop series\, we will explore how we can each build our own house by using different materials\, tools\, and techniques for creating rope scenes that are special and unique. \nPart I: The Introduction\nIn this part we will dive into the metaphor of “architectures” in Kinbaku and how to use it. We will also get to know tools\, materials and techniques that come with thinking and working shibari/kinbaku within the frame of this metaphor. \n\nPart II: The Poetics of Space\n\n\n\nLet’s walk through a house (metaphorically!); what can it tell us about our rope scenes? Let’s walk through a city (metaphorically!); what can it tell us about different schools and moods of Shibari/Kinbaku? \n\n\n\nPart III: Who wants to Live in a Townhouse?\n\n\n\nIn this session\, we will explore your own architectural style of Shibari/Kinbaku.
