You can also continue practicing harnesses from the previous day’s workshop. We’ll explore how rope can shape posture\, limit movement\, and create specific physical and emotional experiences\, working with positions\, connections\, and simple setups that bring structure into the body. DESCRIPTION:For three days\, BIPOC folks are invited to gather for a BIPOC-led shibari weekend rooted in learning\, connection\, and shared practice. This gathering is intentionally created as a space for BIPOC participants to explore rope in community—with care\, curiosity\, and respect for the many ways we come to this practice. \nAcross the weekend\, we will move between structured learning\, guided exploration\, and open time to meet\, practice\, and build relationships with one another. SUMMARY:Erato Bänana Master Class: Without Chest Harness
DESCRIPTION:In most Japanese-inspired styles\, chest harnesses – especially TKs – are a central element: practical\, aesthetic\, and an ideal way to connect with the person in ropes. \nWhen designing this workshop five years ago\, I asked myself: how can we tie the hands in a creative way while maintaining technical precision\, aesthetic consistency\, and a clear dialogue with the person in ropes? Since then\, I have taught this workshop many times\, and these bondages have evolved through practice\, repetition\, and transmission\, while new ties have gradually emerged. \nParticular emphasis will be placed on adapting these ties to different body types\, so that each person can find what works best for them. Depending on the ties explored\, participants’ level of experience\, and their preferences\, these bondages can be explored both in partial suspension and in full suspension. \nCat in Bänana’s ropes. By introducing rigidity and structure\, they allow us to create unusual shapes\, strong lines\, and specific body constraints. For the person in ropes\, the sensations can be gripping\, intense\, and sometimes surprisingly confronting. \nIn this workshop\, we will explore challenging ties using bamboos in partial-suspension and suspension.
