SUMMARY:Bamboo Predicaments
DESCRIPTION:Bamboos are a fantastic tool for creating playful and challenging predicaments. By bringing rigidity to the body\, they allow us to create unusual shapes\, limit movement\, and play with balance and imbalance. \nThroughout this class\, we’ll build a variety of bamboo-based predicaments and explore how these structures can become the starting point for creative\, interactive\, and deliciously tormenting rope play.

SUMMARY: One Body One Gote – Personalising Gote Shibari
DESCRIPTION:Gote Shibari is one of the most iconic and foundational ties in Japanese rope bondage. In group workshops\, especially for beginner and intermediate students\, it is often taught as a fixed form. This helps students focus on learning essential technical components. \nWhile this approach is valuable for building solid rope techniques\, it often leaves little space for exploring and understanding how to adapt the tie to different people. Personalising the Gote is a nuanced practice that requires experience\, observation and deeper insight\, which is difficult to explore in a typical group setting. \nNaoko believes that no two Gotes are ever the same. Whether you are tying someone for the first time or the hundredth\, every tie should be responsive to the person in front of you – how they feel on that day\, their body\, their energy\, the conversation you are having in rope\, and the space you are sharing. The Gote\, in her view\, is not a “one-size-fits-all” form but an evolving\, living expression of connection. \nIn this workshop\, Naoko will present Gote Shibari as a customisable form through a series of live demonstrations. For each demonstration\, she\nwill tie with a different person who has a distinct physique\, flexibility and personal preferences. Before tying\, Naoko will begin with an open conversation with the person being tied to understand their preferences\, needs and context of the tie. She will then tie the Gote specifically for them\, adjusting elements as needed while talking through the reasons behind her decisions. In some cases\, she may tie more the once to show variations or different approaches. After each demonstration\, Naoko and the person being tied will share a debrief to reflect on their experience. \nThroughout the class\, Naoko will talk through her thought process\, sharing insights into how she balances techniques\, aesthetics and feelings. She will demonstrate using the technical form of Naka style of Gote as the foundation. \nPart I: Masc bodies (Oct. 9th\, 2026)\nPart II: Curvy bodies (Oct. 16th\, 2026)\nPart III: Hyperflexibility (Oct. 30th\, 2026) \nThis class focuses on individuality. Instead of relying on formulas for specific body types\, Naoko encourages a holistic and responsive approach. She avoids placing people into fixed categories like “flexible” or “inflexible” and applying standard techniques based on those labels. Rather\, she invites students to consider the full context of the person they are tying\, including their body\, emotions\, preferences\, and\nthe interaction at that moment. The goal is not to follow a set method\, but to develop awareness and sensitivity in order to create an experience that truly suits the individual. \nTopics Naoko may cover include:\n\nAdapting to different body types (height\, weight\, muscle\, fat\, bone structure)\nNavigating flexibility\, past injuries and physical limitations\nHow tying different bodies have an impact on time\, pacing\, number of ropes and the overall energy in a session\nUnderstanding what sensations or experiences the person enjoys in Gote Shibari\nAesthetic choices based on body proportions – how to tie in a way that honours and highlights the unique beauty of the person being tied\nFinding harmony between safety\, structure and emotional connection\n\nModels: \nMasa (@tsubaki_syosei) he/him\nAwa (@nawa_duck)\nKitty (@kinkymarsh)

SUMMARY:Queer Rope Jam
DESCRIPTION:It’s queer rope jam time\, babes! Once in a while you gotta do ropey stuff amongst other queers and just enjoy yourself. No posing\, no being cool or extra good at doing ropey things needed. Come as you are\, exhale and enjoy yourselves. \nWhat is a rope jam?\nRope jams is an open space format. Part hangout\, part jamming with other like-minded people who are into rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku. Come and hang out and watch others do ropey stuff or do some yourself.  The queer rope jam is where you can bring your (rope) partner(s) or meet new people who love to tie\, be tied and/or self-tie. It is also a great space to have sessions in a safe(r) environment with people you do not know yet. \nWe welcome all styles\, all bodies\, all knowledge levels. There will be cute music\, extra special lighting and snacks. In the last hour of the jam\, we will lower the lights and music and make it extra cozy.

SUMMARY:Rope Predicament Series
DESCRIPTION:Ready to willingly dip your toes into challenge\, anticipation and dilemma? This series will introduce you to two very different styles of predicaments taught by the queen of fun assholery herself: Sophia Rose. \nPart I: Playful Predicaments (September 29th\, 2026\, 7-10pm)\nPlayful predicaments are designed to keep one guessing (and choosing) in frustratingly fun ways. Using rope and other kinky tools\, simple concepts of predicament play will be explained and demonstrated along with more complex scenarios to inspire your own creativity as well as exploring predicaments that focus on pain or discomfort\, we will also look at ideas which play with exposure\, balance\, and pleasure – predicaments for different moods. \nPart II: WTF was that: (not so) playful predicaments… (October 22nd\, 2026\, 7-10pm)\nReady to take predicament play to the next level? This session moves beyond playful discomfort to explore the more bizarre\, creative\, and the downright “WTF is that?!”. We’ll explore the risks\, rewards\, and thrill of edgier predicament play\, with three demonstrations for inspiration and adaptation that utilise a suspension point and dungeon furniture. \nWhat we’ll cover:\n– Exploring and creating more intense\, edge-play predicaments (breath control/choking).\n– Demonstrations of bamboo on the body ties\, and fear/pain dynamics.\n– How to safely adapt challenging ideas to suit your skills and partners.

SUMMARY:Communicating with Ropes
DESCRIPTION:We can’t not communicate. But what does it mean to communicate? What do we communicate? What do we hide? And how does all of this work when we tie with each other. Communicating in ropes is not a soft skill but is inherently integrated in the practice itself. The question remains: How can we make that communication more deliberate and intentional? In this class we will connect the rope techniques\, from simple hitches and frictions to complex suspensions\, with what they can communicate and how. \nNovember 11th\, 7-10pm CET:Part I:\nWhat is communication and how can we understand it in the context of Shibari? “Talking” and “Listening” in ropes and on ropes. \nNovember 18th\, 7-10pm CET:Part II:\nPart II: The problem of interpretation. Will we ever know what you meant when twitching your toes? \nNovember 25th\, 7-10pm CET:Part III:\nPart III: Storytelling and scene building with intentional communication.

SUMMARY:Rope Fundamentals Weekend: Foundations & Fun
DESCRIPTION:This is the Saturday single ticket event. For buying a full weekend ticket\, go to the weekend event. \nSaturday gives you the tools that make shibari fun — or intense\, or meditative\, or horny\, or whatever flavor of rope you want to create. Ceci will get you started with the most essential techniques: the lark’s head\, the single column tie\, clean wrapping\, managing tension\, and staying safe. Once those basics are in place\, we spend the rest of the day putting them to use in playful\, intuitive ways. \nWe’ll explore freestyle tying and improvisation to loosen the pressure of “doing it right.” Through one-rope exercises\, wrapping\, unwrapping\, and re-wrapping bodies\, you’ll learn to follow curiosity instead of memorizing patterns. Because rope isn’t static — people move — we’ll also practice guiding and responding to movement through levers\, spirals\, and simple transitions like sitting to standing or shifting limbs mid-tie. \nAlong the way\, we dive into the emotional and psychological effects of rope: how body positions\, pacing\, tension\, and proximity can shift headspace and shape intention. With just a few simple ties\, you’ll learn to create sessions that feel impactful\, intimate\, and expressive. \nTake Aways: \n\nLarkshead & single column tie\nRope safety\nOne rope tying\, wrapping & unwrapping\nPlaying with different intentions and moods\nMoving bodies & tying in movement

Today we dive into the mechanics behind stable\, comfortable\, body-friendly tying. We’ll explore how to apply rope with intention\, how to create structures that fit real bodies\, and how to make your tying smoother\, safer\, and more efficient. \nYou’ll learn counter tensions\, ladder structures\, your first frictions\, and how to wrap with flow and consistency. These building blocks are what allow harnesses to hold their shape. SUMMARY:Rope Fundamentals Weekend: Nerdery & Harnesses
DESCRIPTION:This is the Sunday single ticket event. For buying a full weekend ticket\, go to the weekend event. \nSunday is for the rope nerds (or for anyone ready to become one). We’ll also cover ergonomics and hand techniques\, like hooking and pulling rope\, so you can tie for longer without soreness or strain. \nWith these tools in place\, we’ll begin tying simple harnesses and\, more importantly\, understanding why they work. SUMMARY:Short Bamboo Restraint Systems
DESCRIPTION:Short bamboo rods can transform the structure\, intensity\, and spatial dynamics of grounded rope restraint. Compact and responsive\, they can act as extensions of the hands\, rigid anchors\, levers\, or frameworks through which pressure and movement are\ndirected.\nIn this three-hour intermediate workshop\, Mosaic Cat & Sia will explore ways of combining short bamboo rods with rope to create systems for limb fixation\, leverage\, controlled compression\, breath-aware restraint\, and dynamic positioning—all without using suspension.\n\nRather than treating bamboo as a decorative addition\, the class approaches it as a structural tool. We will examine how its rigidity changes the distribution of tension\, how small adjustments can produce significant changes in posture and sensation\, and how bamboo can create restraint that is compact\, adaptable\, and visually expressive. The focus will be on principles and modular structures that participants can adapt to\n\ndifferent bodies and scenes\, rather than on reproducing a single fixed pattern. \nThe workshop will include demonstrations\, guided practice\, time for experimentation\, and opportunities to ask questions. \n\nWhat We Will Cover\n\n Selecting\, preparing\, and safely handling short bamboo rods\nUnderstanding how rigid materials interact with soft tissue\, joints\, nerves\, and circulation\nHow to secure limbs to bamboo\nCreating compact limb-folding and compression structures\nUsing bamboo to connect or separate different limbs\nApplying leverage to influence posture and restrict movement\nGrounded restraint positions for kneeling\, seated\, curled\, and forward-folded bodies\nBreath-aware compression and the distinction between controlling posture and dangerously restricting breathing\n\nSafety Note\nRigid bamboo can concentrate force more intensely than rope alone. Techniques involving the neck\, chest\, joints\, leverage\, or compression require particular care and continuous communication. Breath-related material in this workshop focuses on awareness\, posture\, pacing\, and\nconsensual modulation of breathing sensations. It is not intended to teach airway obstruction or uncontrolled restriction of breathing.\nParticipants are encouraged to work slowly\, stay within their existing level of experience\, adapt all exercises to the needs of the person being tied\, and stop immediately if there is numbness\, tingling\, loss of function\, unusual pain\, breathing difficulty\, panic\, or other signs of distress.

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Modular Thinking & Frictions
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. In this first part\, we will focus on modular thinking and frictions in constructing shibari ties. \nEver wondered why certain ties just work—while others fall apart or feel awkward? Or how some learn patters as if by magic while others struggle with memorizing? This online workshop is your gateway to understanding the underlying building blocks that make your tying both secure and flowing. \nWhat we cover\nApproximately 90% of shibari patterns are based on the same foundational structures. In this lesson\, Ceci will demystify those core components and give you practical tools for understanding\, recreating\, and creating patterns. You’ll identify and use the modular elements that make up most ties\, gaining the ability to learn\, improvise\, and adapt with confidence. \nWe’ll also go to an even more micro level\, focusing on frictions—the key to stability and different aesthetics in rope. You’ll learn how half hitches and munter hitches function\, and how they can support both freestyle floor play and tying structured harnesses. Then we’ll go deeper\, exploring structural frictions like X frictions\, L frictions\, and half-moon frictions\, used in ties like chest harnesses and leg bindings. \nThroughout\, Ceci will emphasize why these elements work—not just how—giving you the theory and tactile understanding needed to move beyond memorizing patterns. \nIdeal for\n\nTechnically-minded riggers\, bottoms\, and switches\nThe nerdiest of the nerds\nBeginners\, the people who think they already know it all\, and the people who got over that phase and know they still have years to learn\nAnyone who loves diagrams\, efficiency\, or the phrase “root cause analysis”

SUMMARY:Edge & Play: Erotic Rope Exploration
DESCRIPTION:How can ropes awaken desire\, tension\, and playful challenge? \nThe gag\, the hair pulled back\, the rope that tightens when you move. This class explores the erotic\, teasing\, mischievous side of rope. We’ll play with the elements that heighten sensation and shift the charge between two people — gagging\, hair restraint\, crotch ropes\, predicaments — always inside a frame of consent and communication. A few exercises to try things out\, then time to play with whatever you want to take further. \nWe Will Explore:\n\nErotic tension — how it builds in the space before\, between\, and around the ties\nTeasing and predicaments: rope that provokes\, restricts\, invites a reaction\nGagging\, hair restraint\, crotch ropes and how to use it with intention\nConsent inside the frame — checking in as part of the play\, not a break from it\n\nWho this class is for:\n\nAnyone who desires to bring more heat into their rope\nPeople looking for new ideas they can keep using at home\nNerds who love the details of how sensation and tension actually work\n\n  \nPhotocredits: IV Bogota Shibari Week and Charles Ilcoatl

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Detail Focus & Debugging
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. \nThis session is all about refinement: the often-overlooked micro-skills and subtle mechanics that elevate your rope from “functional” to “flawlessly intentional.” Whether you’re chasing the mythical perfect single-column tie or endlessly fiddling with your tension to no avail\, this workshop compiles years of niche knowledge into a concentrated toolkit you didn’t know you needed. \nWe’ll break down the biomechanics of tying\n\nHow to control tension consistently\nHow rope behaves under load and movement\nWhat actually makes a single-column tie “good\,” and how to identify weak links\nHow to increase flow and make movement easy\n\nAnd then—debugging\nBecause let’s be honest: ties don’t always go as planned. Ceci will introduce a practical Rope Debugging Checklist — a system for analyzing and troubleshooting your rope in real time. Bring your toughest knots\, recurring frustrations\, and messy half-solutions. You’ll get hands-on help in problem-solving real-world issues\, and leave with better strategies for working through technical glitches on your own. \nExpect lots of tinkering\, a healthy dose of analysis\, and plenty of “ah-ha!” moments. Rope as craft. Rope as puzzle. Rope as precision instrument. Let’s get into it.

SUMMARY:Breath Play with Ropes
DESCRIPTION:During a bondage session\, the breathing of the tied person is often impacted. Even a simple chest harness can become real torture when breathing in certain positions. Rope is a perfect tool for exploring breath play. A rigger can influence their partner’s breathing through different areas: the mouth\, throat\, ribcage\, or abdomen. \nBefore experimenting\, we’ll take time to understand how breathing works\, what happens in the body during breath restriction\, and how to recognize and reduce the risks involved. We’ll also discuss how to communicate clearly with your partner before\, during\, and after this type of play\, so that everyone can make informed decisions and stay within their own boundaries. \nThis workshop is also deeply focused on the experience of the tied person. We’ll explore the wide range of physical sensations\, emotional responses\, and psychological states that breath play can evoke\, and learn how to observe\, understand\, and respond to them\nthroughout a rope scene. \nOnce we’ve covered these foundations\, we’ll experiment with different ways of incorporating breath play into rope. Breath play can be a powerful way to communicate through ropes\, creating an intimate dialogue built on trust\, attention\, and mutual awareness.
