SUMMARY:Polylicious - An Open Relationship Toolkit
DESCRIPTION:Opening up relationships can bring up a lot of emotions\, it can be challenging and chaotic at times but also exciting. It is a great opportunity to become aware of what we appreciate and what we would like to change in our existing relationships. This two part series is designed for people who would like to start or are in the middle of starting to open up a relationship. Our main focus will be on shaping the change and navigating new beginnings.\nPart I\, May 7th\, 7-9pm: Basics\nThe first part will mainly focus on the basics of open and polyamorous relationships such as dealing with complex emotions (like jealousy)\, coming up with good and meaningful agreements\, finding a bit more clarity around needs and boundaries\, putting theory into practice and finding a bit more clarity around why we are interested in opening up relationships.\n\nPart II\, May 14th\, 7-9pm: Common Mistakes\n\nThe second part will focus on common open relationship mistakes and how to avoid them. Navigating exciting new energy\, like dating new people\, having sexual interactions with more then one person\, falling in love with new people\, etc. can be challenging and there is a lot to consider at the same time. This last part will put an emphasize on common pitfalls.\nThe combination of both parts aim to provide you with:\n\n\na better understanding about your own needs and wishes around open relationships\na solid basis to start exploring open relationships\, not only in theory but also in practice\nhelpful examples on how agreements and setting up the frame for open relationships can look like\nexamples on common mistakes and how you can use that knowledge\nlots of exercises which you can do either on your own and/or share in the group. There will also be space for exchange in small groups\nspace for your concerns and questions

SUMMARY:Kink is Political: Work
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of International Workers’ Day\, our May session will be about the concept of “work.” Pushing against cultural norms within BDSM and kink scenes that have historically been structured to distance BDSM and kink from sex work\, we’ll inquire what it means to understand what we do within the context of work. Along the way\, we’ll discuss sex work\,  professionalization in the rope scene\, and the legacy of Wages for Housework.  \nAbout this series\nKink is Political is an online discussion with Addie Tahl\, Georg Barkas\, Andrea Rimon\, and occasional special guests. Participants are invited to join a discussion during which we unite critique with an emphasis on the practical and day-to-day issues and challenges of kink\, intimacy\, and relationships. \nFocusing on concepts central to BDSM\, leather\, rope\, and sex-positive communities\, it interrogates widely adopted approaches and commonly held notions. It aims to understand the politics of kink beyond the language of sexual liberation and politics of sexual liberalism\, both frames that have proven insufficient in addressing widespread harm\, a rising international tide of sex-negativity and reaction\, or in guaranteeing that the most marginalized can sexually flourish. \nKink is Political is an examination of the contexts and consequences of how we talk about and understand gender and sexuality. It is a forum to think about how kink spaces and practices operate\, what works\, what doesn’t\, and what we can use to build something better.

SUMMARY:Showing Up: Skills for Facing Conflict
DESCRIPTION:We all have conflicts. With ourselves\, with our loved ones and our collaborators\, as well as social and political ones. We often perceive the very concept of conflict as negative\, and we are not often taught methods to face it. However\, it can also be an opportunity to get to know ourselves and others while finding out what needs to be witnessed\, improved\, or transformed. It is a call to show up for ourselves\, our loved ones and our community. \nIn this workshop\, Emilian and Barbara invite you to practice essential skills to face conflict\, one step at a time. The first step is to listen to ourselves. The second\, to listen to others. And finally\, to share our truth while showing care and respect for everybody involved. \nWhat we will do:\n\n\nGround ourselves when we feel triggered\, overwhelmed or numb \n\n\nIdentify and witness what you feel and need \n\n\nUse active listening in order to understand where others are coming from \n\n\nExpress yourself truthfully and mindfully during conflict \n\n\nThis class is for anyone who wants to:\n\n\nApproach conflict differently \n\n\nPractice being in touch with their emotions \n\n\nImprove their capacity to be gentle with themselves \n\n\nLearn new communication techniques \n\n\nUse these skills to strengthen community and relationships in their lives

SUMMARY:Kink as Vessel for Grief
DESCRIPTION:So little space is gifted to sadness and grief; frequently\, these emotions are bypassed and sidelined. Caritia believes honouring\, acknowledging\, and releasing grief can be liberating for all aspects of your body and life. How can the practices of kink intentionally support opening up of self? Supported by the ritual container of collective gathering. \nCaritia invites participants into this collective space to speak to grief as a companion through the body\, acknowledging the challenges and choosing to sit together in compassion. \nWhat we will offer\n\nbody awareness exercises\nbreath techniques and sounds\ngroup & solo intention setting\nsetting up your space/creating a container\nthe colours of grief\nfeedback & close\n\nWhat is this space for?\nThis space is intended to allow the different frequencies of grief\, sadness and loss. The intention is to support participants to find spaces to honour and allow for grief and sadness\, with care and on purpose. \nNo one is expected to share beyond their capacity.

SUMMARY:Kink and Neurodiversity
DESCRIPTION:Intimate connections are often complex\, tender\, and beautifully messy. Each of us brings different ways of sensing\, thinking\, feeling\, and communicating—and when those differences meet\, misunderstanding can easily arise. When intimacy\, touch\, and desire enter the picture\, this complexity can deepen even further. \nWithin kink and erotic play\, where communication\, boundaries\, and consent are central\, neurodivergent ways of experiencing the world can shape connection in important ways. This makes it vital to talk openly about neurodiversity—the natural variation in human minds—and about the lived experiences of neurodivergent people within kink and intimate spaces. \nHow can we create more supportive\, curious\, and spacious approaches to intimacy and play? What becomes possible when differences in processing\, communication\, and sensory experience are met with care rather than assumption? \nIn this open discussion and experiential lab\, Caritia invites participants into a shared exploration of kink and neurodivergence. Together\, we will engage in personal reflection and collective dialogue\, sharing experiences\, questions\, and perspectives. Rather than seeking fixed answers\, this space centers nuance\, curiosity\, and the ongoing practice of learning how to be in connection with one another. \nNote: This workshop embraces neurodiversity as an evolving conversation. It is not intended to provide rigid definitions or one-size-fits-all solutions. \nWho is this for\nThis workshop welcomes: \n\nPeople new to kink\nPeople with minimal or extensive kink experience\nNeurodivergent participants (including autistic participants)\nNeurotypical participants\nPeople in relationships or connections that include neurodivergent and/or neurotypical partners\nAnyone curious about how neurodiversity shapes intimacy\, communication\, and play\n\nConcepts & formats for exploration\n\nOpening meditation and orientation\nWhat is neurodiversity? A broad-spectrum understanding\nIntersectionality\, boundaries\, negotiation\, and care\nLanguage\, perspective\, and intention in intimate communication\nMaking space for difference—and noticing what that space requires\nFormats including self-reflection\, small-group discussion\, and whole-group dialogue\nGentle embodiment practices throughout the 2.5-hour session (including a short break)\nOpen\, free-form associative space (as supportive to the group)\nFeedback and closing reflections

It is a forum to think about how kink spaces and practices operate\, what works\, what doesn’t\, and what we can use to build something better. \n\n\n\nThis month’s topic: Ambiguity\nIn March’s session\, we’ll turn towards our experience of “ambiguity.” Against approaches to sex and kink that forefront clarity and transparency\, we’ll think through what value ambiguity has and what the active production and appreciation of ambiguity might bring to the table. Looking towards both the literary critical and our experiences of the everyday\, we’ll weigh the problems and poetic affordances that ambiguity presents in a culture so deeply concerned about security and liability mitigation.

SUMMARY:Un(a)shamed: Ethics\, Kink\, and the Stories We Tell Ourselves
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever heard someone say “kinkshaming is bad\, but some kinks deserve to be shamed”? If so\, do you agree? If you do\, how do we decide? If you don’t\, how do you stand up for yourself? And in either case\, how do we practice kink in a way that aligns with our ethics\, without succumbing to shaming from others?“Un(a)shamed” is a reflective and writing-based workshop that will move us beyond simple slogans and assumptions\, and challenge us to articulate — to ourselves and future partners — our values and ethical boundaries. We will review some different ways of thinking about kink ethics (from a practical perspective\, not a hard philosophy one\, don’t worry!) and then work through a series of guided writing exercises to help us think about what feels right and wrong in our hearts\, bringing those feelings into alignment with our principles\, and articulating those feelings to others. \nJoin this workshop if you would like to…\n\nExplore a practical approach to kink ethics\, reviewing some different frameworks\nThink about your own ethics\, what assumptions you (or the people around you) may be making about what’s good and bad\, and whether you want to articulate those assumptions\, or maybe even change them\nLearn how to incorporate ethics into your negotiations and community participation\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Trauma-informed Rope
DESCRIPTION:Being ‘trauma informed’ has become a buzzword in rope (and kink) spaces but many of us still feel unclear about what it actually means\, especially in rope. This session invites space to explore your own reactions\, patterns\, and think about this topic in practice.\nWe will approach being ‘trauma informed’ not as a moral obligation or clinical practice but a way of meeting ourselves with more curiosity and honesty\, to hold some of the murky complexities.\n\nWhat we will think about\n\n\n\nWhat the pillars of being “trauma-informed” can realistically mean/ or be applied in a kink context\n\n\nStress responses vs. trauma responses? –  and how these might show up for tops and bottoms during play\n\n\nWhat responsibility we actually have to ourselves and to each other and where our limits and non responsibilities lie\n\n\nHow to navigate the erotic\, the sadistic\, desire\, risk\, and intensity in a ‘trauma informed’ way without sterilising or sanitising our play\n\n\nWhat do we think about making play “safe” or “healing through kink”?  How to frame potentially therapeutic experiences without making promises or stepping into roles we shouldn’t
