SUMMARY:Practical Reflections on Intentional Kink Space Facilitation
DESCRIPTION:As Kink Space Facilitators\, we experience a wide range of impressions in our work. We plan juicy offers\, trauma and queer inclusive\, and hold space for experiences\, uncertainties\, fuck ups\, desires and much more. After planning and implementation comes reflection and evaluation. The ‘how was I’ as a professional and personally. \nAlexander Hahne\, gay trans man\, trainer and speaker for trans-specific topics in the field of sexual health\, sex educator\, somatic counselor\, sexuality focussed bodyworker\, systemic sex therapist\, dancer and pleasure activist. Leader of workshops and individual counseling on the topics of body awareness\, intimacy and sexuality. He works in the field of sexuality for about 20 years with almost 15 years of facilitation in pleasure and kink spaces. With his work he directly support them in their own experience of the body as well as the possibility of uncovering and using access to their own pleasurable potential. \nWhat happens in the workshop?\nIn this workshop\, we will first put on our oxygen masks and subject our work to a reality check to see how it actually was. \nFor example\, we will address the following questions: \n\nWhich methods worked really well and why?\nDid the planning of your trauma-informed process have the desired effect during implementation?\nWere there situations in which you felt uncertain or overwhelmed? What did you do then? What could be different next time?\nWhich methods did you use and why? What worked\, what didn’t and why?\n\nYes\, there is always too little time and the physical space is different than expected… how do you deal with that? How does that affect your stress level and facilitation? \nThe approach is to separate your behaviour from you as a person. You as a person are highly valued and your behaviour is criticised. \nNote\nThis offering connects to and extends Ceci Ferox’s workshops Intentional Kink Space Facilitation and Intentional Kink Spaces: Structures and Organizing. You can purchase the recordings in our shop. If you did not have the opportunity to be part of these classes\, we are offering the recordings for you to purchase as well. The recordings will be available until July 16th\, 2026. This is optional\, not mandatory. If you were part of one or both of these workshops\, you can email us and get free access to the recordings again\, if you purchase a ticket to this class.

SUMMARY:Radical Inclusion
DESCRIPTION:The world can often feel divided and exclusionary. What would it mean to turn that on its head? This workshop explores how we can actively include ourselves and others\, while acknowledging the real need for both inclusive and separatist spaces. \nTogether\, we will examine the barriers that create exclusion—such as access\, power dynamics\, and social norms—and explore practical ways to respond to them. The focus is on finding a balance between collective needs and individual experiences\, and reimagining what truly supportive spaces can look like. \nLed by Caritia\, this session offers a space for reflection\, discussion\, and collaborative thinking. Participants will be invited to design and imagine the kinds of groups and environments they would want to be part of\, while developing tools to meaningfully include difference and diversity for the benefit of all. \nWhat we’ll cover\n\n\nWhat “radical inclusion” means in practice \n\n\nThe role of exclusion: boundaries\, safety\, and separatist spaces \n\n\nIdentifying barriers to inclusion (access\, identity\, power) \n\n\nBalancing individual needs with group dynamics \n\n\nDesigning spaces you would actually want to belong to \n\n\nPractical strategies for including difference and diversity

SUMMARY:Kink is Political: Work
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of International Workers’ Day\, our May session will be about the concept of “work.” Pushing against cultural norms within BDSM and kink scenes that have historically been structured to distance BDSM and kink from sex work\, we’ll inquire what it means to understand what we do within the context of work. Along the way\, we’ll discuss sex work\,  professionalization in the rope scene\, and the legacy of Wages for Housework.  \nAbout this series\nKink is Political is an online discussion with Addie Tahl\, Georg Barkas\, Andrea Rimon\, and occasional special guests. Participants are invited to join a discussion during which we unite critique with an emphasis on the practical and day-to-day issues and challenges of kink\, intimacy\, and relationships. \nFocusing on concepts central to BDSM\, leather\, rope\, and sex-positive communities\, it interrogates widely adopted approaches and commonly held notions. It aims to understand the politics of kink beyond the language of sexual liberation and politics of sexual liberalism\, both frames that have proven insufficient in addressing widespread harm\, a rising international tide of sex-negativity and reaction\, or in guaranteeing that the most marginalized can sexually flourish. \nKink is Political is an examination of the contexts and consequences of how we talk about and understand gender and sexuality. It is a forum to think about how kink spaces and practices operate\, what works\, what doesn’t\, and what we can use to build something better.

SUMMARY:Fierce Feelings - Anger & Fear as Radical Tools
DESCRIPTION:We are often taught that anger and fear are emotions to suppress. Too much. Too loud. Too inconvenient. We are encouraged to manage them\, soften them\, or hide them altogether. \nAt the same time\, anger and fear are frequently used as tools of control—shaping behaviour\, enforcing obedience\, and maintaining hierarchy. \nWhat if these emotions are not weaknesses to eliminate\, but signals to understand? What if anger carries clarity\, and fear carries information? What if both can become tools for resistance\, protection\, and transformation? \nIn this workshop\, Caritia invites participants into an embodied exploration of anger and fear—not as problems to solve\, but as energies to examine and reclaim. Through reflection\, discussion\, and guided exercises\, we will explore: \n\n\nHow anger and fear live in the body \n\n\nThe difference between suppression and regulation \n\n\nWhen these emotions protect us \n\n\nHow they can be manipulated socially \n\n\nHow to channel them intentionally rather than reactively \n\n\nThis is not about uncontrolled expression. It is about agency\, awareness\, and choice.

SUMMARY:BIPOC Utopias - Power Exchange
DESCRIPTION:This is a separatist space to discuss and lab about kink\, intimacy\, and virtual play space for black\, brown and Indigenous folks. \nFor quite some time\, Caritia has been musing on encouraging and inspiring more BIPOC into the realm of alternative lifestyles and ways of relating. There are many systemic barriers to this\, including patriarchy\, capitalism\, classism and racism. In an effort to change the narrative\, Caritia wishes to offer a monthly gathering of BIPOC to talk\, learn about a topic or practice and support one another through a community that is actively built together\, with the aspiration to gather in person once a year. \nCaritia’s intention is to create a guided\, active space for learning and coming together. This format has the potential to morph and change as the group sees fit. \nWhat we will do\nFor the month of May we will discuss the topic of Power Exchange\, specifically as it relates to inherent power/privilege imbalances in relationships and more.

SUMMARY:Kink is Political: Suffering
DESCRIPTION:This Easter month\, we’ll interrogate the Christian underpinnings of kink and BDSM aesthetics by turning towards the concept of “suffering.” We will read Emannuel Levinas’ essay “Useless Suffering” alongside discussions of seme in Japanese rope bondage. We’ll ask: what are the political implications of connecting beauty\, meaning\, and suffering? What would a tying\, kink\, or BDSM practice look like that takes a starting point that suffering has no intrinsic meaning or value? \nAbout this series\nKink is Political is an online discussion with Addie Tahl\, Georg Barkas\, Andrea Rimon\, and occasional special guests. Participants are invited to join a discussion during which we unite critique with an emphasis on the practical and day-to-day issues and challenges of kink\, intimacy\, and relationships. \nFocusing on concepts central to BDSM\, leather\, rope\, and sex-positive communities\, it interrogates widely adopted approaches and commonly held notions. SUMMARY:The Fat Rope Hang: Zine Publishing Party
DESCRIPTION:This is a space dedicated to everyone self-identifying as fat who’s into shibari or other types of rope bondage. We will luxuriate\, rant\, do rope\, and just generally engage in revolutionary action. \nTogether\, we’ll center fat joy\, fat bodies\, and fat experience in rope — without apology and without shrinking ourselves. This gathering prioritizes comfort\, accessibility\, and unmasking\, with an emphasis on sharing knowledge\, building confidence\, and unlearning the ways mainstream rope spaces often exclude or overlook us. \nThe launch of The Fat Rope Hang will be a special event: we are publishing Ceci’s zine on tying fat people! \nThe Fat Rope Hang is not a class or performance space. It’s a facilitated hang where you’re welcome to: \n\nTie or be tied at your own pace\nShare frustrations\, wins\, and questions about navigating rope as a fat person\nExperiment\, rest\, watch\, talk\, or simply exist in community\nCelebrate adaptations\, creativity\, and what works for your body\n\nAll skill levels are welcome. You do not need to arrive with a partner\, a plan\, or a specific goal. Consent\, communication\, and care (for yourself and others) are core values of this space. You can bring a non-fat rope partner with you. \nThe Fat Rope Hang is about visibility\, connection\, and pleasure in taking up space. Come as you are. Stay as long as you like. Let your body be part of the revolution.

Looking towards both the literary critical and our experiences of the everyday\, we’ll weigh the problems and poetic affordances that ambiguity presents in a culture so deeply concerned about security and liability mitigation.

We’ll ask: how might the concept of welcomeness help us think through the assumptions of a consent standard? How do we deal with cases where asking for consent may in and of itself be an aggression or cause of harm? What are the ways that “welcomeness” falls short\, and provides cover for pervasive sexual harm?  \n\n\n\n\n\n

Drawing on Ariel Ajeno’s essay “After Consent\,” the discussion will historicize the concept\, chart its political limitations\, and gesture towards other practices and political formations that might point the way to a better\, more revolutionary sexual politics. Along the way\, we’ll ask: is consent necessary or sufficient for sex to be non-injurious\, let alone good? What makes consent possible? What political work does consent do? What are the differences between the way consent is understood as a practice and as a standard? What does it mean to think “After Consent?”  \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:BIPOC Utopias – Play and the Black Experience
\nWhat we will do\nDiscussing and debate on Aaron Trammell’s book “Torture\, Play and the Black Experience”. It is supportive if you have read the text; however it is not essential for participation. \nWho should join?\nThis space is specifically for Afro-diaspora\, South American\, South East Asia\, black\, brown\, Indigenous\, and marginalized individuals who are interested in kink and BDSM through the lens of intersectional nuances and transformative justice. This space may not fit for all marginalised demographics\, as it is impossible to cover such diversity in one space.

SUMMARY:Consent – An Overdue Critique
DESCRIPTION:The concept of consent is omnipresent in the rope world and beyond. And for good reasons. Obviously\, we want to ensure that we don’t harm each other or get harmed in any way\, and consent seems to be the best possible modality to reduce the risk of harm. \n\n\n\nOver the last decade and even before that\, practitioners of rope and kink started to realize that the concept does not come without problems. Therefore\, in order to save the concept and thus\, ourselves\, adjectives have been added to the concept\, such as enthusiastic\, freely given\, risk aware\, and many more. It seems as if almost yearly\, a new maneuver gets spread in the hope that finally\, we can be safe. \n\n\n\nWhat We Will Do\n\n\n\nThis class by Emmy and Barkas is not another such attempt but rather a discussion of the problems that arise with the concept itself and all the adjectives. Where does consent come from\, why is it impossible and still absolutely necessary? What are the principles\, what are the societal problems and how can we navigate the impossibilities of consent without just giving up. \n\n\n\nEmmy (she/they) is cofounder of Studio Allegory and teaches kink and intimacy. Her background in comparative contract law enables her to distinguish between cliches of consent and how it is actually formulated. \n\n\n\nBarkas (they/them) is cofounder of Studio Allegory and teaches kink and intimacy since 2011. They published several articles in international magazines as well as the monograph “Archaeology of personalities – a linguistic approach to erotic rope bondage”.

SUMMARY:Kink is Political – Community\, Culture\, and Social Character
DESCRIPTION:Kink is Political is an online discussion with Addie Tahl\, Georg Barkas\, Andrea Rimon\, and occasional special guests. Participants are invited to join a discussion during which we unite critique with an emphasis on the practical and day-to-day issues and challenges of kink\, intimacy\, and relationships. \n\n\n\nFocusing on concepts central to BDSM\, leather\, rope\, and sex-positive communities\, it interrogates widely adopted approaches and commonly held notions. \n\n\n\nKink is Political is an examination of the contexts and consequences of how we talk about and understand gender and sexuality. It is a forum to think about how kink spaces and practices operate\, what works\, what doesn’t\, and what we can use to build something better. \n\n\n\nThis month’s topic: Community\, Culture\, and Social Character\n\n\n\nIn our first session\, we’ll inquire into how the structure of our organizations and broader community infrastructure shapes our culture and what we do. We’ll start from the example of the rope scene and move on to broader kink and sex positive communities. Along\, the way\, we’ll ask: Who does trying attract? What do different kinds of tying pedagogy teach us about ways of being in the world? What are the consequences of participating in practics so built around private space? Is there something authoritarian built into the ways that we gather?

SUMMARY:Pleasure Resistance – Sexual Liberation in a Fucked up World
DESCRIPTION:We live in a world that thrives on disconnection from our bodies\, from our desires\, from one another. Pleasure is often framed as a luxury\, a distraction\, or something to be earned. But what if pleasure is something deeper — a form of resistance? A radical reclaiming of our humanity\, our agency\, and our aliveness? \nPleasure Resistance is a 3-hour workshop\, conversation\, and community space that invites you to explore pleasure not as indulgence\, but as a political practice that builds resilience. Together\, we’ll unpack how oppressive systems like patriarchy\, white supremacy\, capitalism\, and colonialism disconnect us from our erotic selves\, and how reclaiming joy and sensuality can be a bold act of defiance and care. \nThis is a space for anyone who has felt anger\, shame\, numbness\, or confusion around pleasure. It’s for survivors\, queers\, rebels\, and anyone longing to reconnect with their pleasure in a world that tries to shut it down. You don’t need to have it all figured out\, just come as you are. \nWhat happens in the workshop?\nThrough guided reflection\, group dialogue\, and body-based awareness exercises\, you’ll be invited to: \n\nReframe pleasure as a tool for resilience and rebellion\nIdentify internalized narratives that limit your erotic freedom\nFind rebellious paths to pleasure in an oppressive world\nExplore what sexual liberation means to you\nConnect with others in honest\, non-judgmental conversation\nBegin (or deepen) your journey toward embodied joy\n\nThis space welcomes all genders\, sexualities\, body types\, and lived experiences within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. You do not need to have a positive relationship with sex or pleasure to attend — curiosity\, openness\, and respect are all that’s required. \n\n

SUMMARY:Rope is Political Lunch Talk: Rope and Sex Work
DESCRIPTION:Potential discussion points: \n– “Rope artist” vs. pro domme / sex worker – who is celebrated/who is overlooked? How language is used to distance from certain stigmas? \n– Who gets to eroticise rope? The de-kinkifying of rope in certain spaces – How does the desire to “sanitise” rope for broader audiences affect visibility and legitimacy of sex work? \n– Sex workers as teachers / experts – Why is rope teaching often inaccessible or unwelcoming to sex workers? Are pro dommes/escorts/sex workers invited to teach\, perform\, or lead? What kinds of expertise are valued\, and what’s considered “real rope”? \n– Most people experiencing rope do so via sex workers—why is this invisible in mainstream rope scenes? \n– Charging for rope sessions: is there difference between a BDSM session and a rope “experience”? \n– How is consent discussed differently in kink vs. sex work spaces? \n– What can the rope/kink scene learn from sex workers about negotiation/ professionalism/care/ self care? \n

SUMMARY:Centering the Margins – Power\, Privilege & Presence
DESCRIPTION:Power is an energy that so many find elusive to grasp and even more challenging to hold on to with the intersections\, cultural differences and politics of our present time. So let’s dig deep and unearth the truth behind the lies we have been fed. Power and privilege are not about class or economic status we each hold\, these are colonial binds that can be loosened and released. Let’s find your power and empower others. \nCaritia invites participants on a journey of destruction and experimentation to embolden and uplift themselves and each other. Intentionally investigating the questions ‘who gives me power?’. And ‘what makes me powerful?’. Whilst acknowledging the forms of privilege we each hold and how to actively share and communicate about them\, to find the present and actual ways you wish to play or be in your everyday.\nCaritia will offer questions for reflection\, place participants in pairs or small groups to brainstorm (breakout rooms)\, share in the larger space and engage in body based exercises to ground these explorations into the body physically\, mentally and emotionally. \nWhat we will teach/do\n\nPower and Hierarchies – definitions\nBoundaries & Negotiation\nIntersectional layers\nCommunication\, strategies and language\nQuestions and feedback\nBody connections / attention practice
